@ProbablyEzra I have not tried that, but what I was referring to was seeing the screencap somewhere else and posting that instead of finding the original post. Can't really just click on the date of a screencap, that tells you nothing about the original post

That program was waaaay too good to have lasted only the one season. I think most of the reason it failed was because too many people expected it to be exactly like the OG show that ran in the 70s/80s and got all butthurt when they discovered it... wasn't.

Treasure Planet, and Atlantis
Those two are the duo of underrated gems with the same artstyle that deserve to become well more known.
Yep! Though in my opinion Atlantis 2 wasn't as good as the original... still _absolutely_ beautiful! But the story was... eh.

As far as I can tell, anyone who's actually watched them really enjoyed them. The _problem_ was that Treasure Planet opened directly between Harry Potter 2 and Lord of the Rings 2 (As an interesting aside, _nothing_ released on the same weekend as The Two Towers in the US), and neither of them got all that much advertisement. Atlantis still managed to make a decent profit - budget was around 100 million while box office was about 190 million - most likely because it was a summer release from Disney and not really competing with much for the target demographic. However, Treasure Planet the next year lost about 30 million in the box office and released the week after the most-anticipated children's film sequel of the year. I'm not saying that the pair of them were _definitely_ sabotaged by marketing as an excuse to close the traditional animation studios, but it seems very plausible.

The concept art and script was done for the sequel, the antagonist, "Captain Ironbeard", was going to be voiced by William Dafoe. John Silver's backstory was going to be revealed. If the movie had not gotten sabotaged like it did, we could've had a sequel.
I will always lament that we were robbed and the movie itself was robbed before it even aired.

@@taylor_green_9 She's a lot more cagey about romantic orientation, but I do remember her saying at one point that she's "nothing sexual, everything romantic." At another time she's said she's not sure and not all that interested in figuring it out at the moment. I will say, that trope talks resonated with me. I'm ace, and I also often don't "get" romance in fiction and in real life, even though I am currently in a romantic relationship. So unless she decides to come out publicly in any definite way, I try to avoid speculating.

If you move everything inside the house an inch to the left and then move the entire house an inch to the right, it only cancels out the movement (of the furniture etc.) in the context of the neighbourhood. In the context of the house, everything will still be moved an inch to the left, so you will keep walking into stuff that's not where it used to be.
Ohhhh that’s different from how I interpreted it. I imagine all of the furniture moving relative to the house, then the house moving relative to the furniture so everything would be two inches to the left of where it usually is in your house. I was very confused how anything was canceling out.

Honestly, if there's one Disney movie I'd tolerate a live action version of right now, it's Treasure Planet. An underrated gem, but a remake might give it the audience it deserves.
As much as I would love to agree, I look at it like the Tron Ares or the How To Train Your Dragon live action remakes
For as good as the original is, I don't trust Disney to do it justice

Depends on whether moving the house also moves the stuff inside the house (since there's no equivalent for the knife that would prevent the onions from moving in the other direction like in the example). If yes, then they're still one inch off.
Treasure Planet is straight up one of my favorite movies from the golden age of animation we had going at the time.
Titan A.E. is another amazing space epic with a similar overall vibe and awesome soundtrack.

Treasure Planet was able to achieve peak aesthetic because it was a passion project by the creators. All for the art, no care for the money.

When I worked at Subway, I rarely made noise when walking. One Christmas, my manager took a jingle bell from the decorations and tied it to my uniform. It turns out that my normal way of walking kept the bell from ringing. I continued being the source of unintentional jump scares.

Okay so I took advice from the video and ended up watching treasure planet while I was at work today. Oh my God you need to watch it! It is so goddamn whimsical!
I have two important points in favor of the screencapping of tumblr posts to share them instead of (or at least As Well As) directly reblogging:
1. - The screencapping method preserves the body of the post in its original intended form, up to and including peer-reviewed tags, thus ensuring that it can continue to be shared and enjoyed not only on other platforms but also on its home hellsite long after the original account(s) responsible for the banger post has/have been deactivated and/or changed URLs.
2. - The serendipitous occasions when two posts cross your dash in the most perfect order that you HAVE to screencap it to prove that yes, that post someone made expressing their love of adding parmesan cheese to their food with a looping GIF of a parmesan cheese being shaken out DID just happen to show up directly above someone else's photo post of a crow with its head covered in powdered snow, thus giving the illusion of the crow getting parm'd.

The perfect counterattack to the last post is evidently watching PMSeymour’s videos while eating. I just went “Maybe not, but I’m eating fancy ramen instead” and carried on.
