I loved this scene so much. The hide and seek story was such a great brother moment. And Damon finding Stefan in the snow as well. (It was also just visually wow at 1:42 to 2:06 with the snow and the way Damon picks Stefan up.)
I’ve seen this scene a thousand times. There’s so much history between these two, too much to heal but at the end of the day they always had an unbreakable bond.
My god yes I can't believe someone finally said what I've always said. It was better without Elena. You know, something that I love about the CW network is how they bring out sibling bonds. Dean and Sam, Damon and Stefan, Klaus, Bekah, Elijah, Kole, etc. Sure, they're dicks sometimes, but at the end of the day, their brothers/sisters are their one true weakness. It's heartwarming and breaking at the same time
What frustrates me though is in the beginning, yes the bonds are good and pure. But as they go on, one siblings get more and more abusive of the other. Dean abuses Sam, Damon abuses Stefan, Klaus abuses all of his siblings. It's frustrating to me. I wish they would just remain...well good.
2:16 one of my favorite bloopers from this season is Ian saying “everything’s normal” without even looking at the road, and the director had to get on and be like, “uh Ian you’re driving…”
I seriously don't get why people keep saying season 7 was the worst of the series, I mean come on scenes like this make season 7 the worst? Oh what, just because Elena's gone the focus should still be on Elena? I don't think so, I think the writers did an incredible job with this season and especially this episode. AMAZING BROTHERLY ROMANCE IS WHAT WE NEEDED. Thank you
You have to be an Elena fan just because people don't like season 7?? YES this episode was good. Thanks to Paul wonderful acting. But this was probably the only BEST epsiode out of season 7.Elena doesn't have anything to do with it.
Season 7 was the best season in my opinion- this season did a time jump "X years from now" that is amazingly creative- I usually only see "X years ago" time jumps that combines the story with the present timeline. I loved the defan dynamics- this snow scene and the scene where Julian almost killed Damon but Stefan stepped in. The brothers were the main characters all along and I think we got a better series ending based on Defan, better than the writers initial idea.
They missed the opportunity to show us damon and stefan when they were kids playing hide and seek. "Why you'd bring up hide and go seek?" "Because you're never gonna find me." Stefan fall unconscious to the ground. Flashback of them playing hide and seek in the salvatore's mansion. *Damon walk closer to their father studio knowing that stefan is in there, but when he is at the door, he freeze and just stand here, the fear in his face.* *Damon walk away.* *Little Stefan is still curled up in his spot.* *He is waiting for his big brother to find him.* *He wait and wait for almost hours but no one come.* *We move on Damon that is reading on a chair in his room.* *Stefan comes in with a sad expression in his face "You didnt find me."* End of Flashback. We come back to stefan lying on the snow. Damon's car stops. The sound of his steps getting closer to him. Damon hand rest on his brother shoulder. "I'll always gonna find you, Stefan."
"Why was it so hard for you to find me?" "Because I was scared. I didnt want to break the rules." "Why'd you bring up hide and go seek?" "Because you're never gonna find me." But its 160 years since Damon has stopped following the rules, 160 years since he has stopped being afraid and care about the consequences of his own actions and that is why he is able to find Stefan at the end.
Actually Damon followed the rules and was quite upstanding as a Vampire until Sage influenced him before that Damon only fed on criminals, bullies, and trigger happy soldiers because those are not usually people that will raise too many alarms or many if any will really miss for food only due to his desire to be discreet and low profiled and did not make a mess or much of it when snacking down yeah.
Damon was always a rebel. Not necessarily an evil rebel, but he didn't like following rules. If his father didn't approve of the girl he dated, it made him want her all the more, so it made sense for him to date a vampire in knowing that his father hated vampires. He didn't wanna break the rules with Stefan because had Stefan got caught, Damon wouldn't be the only one taking their father's abuse. He was scared for Stefan more than himself. He had no problem taking the beating from their father when the vase got broken, but the moment their mother made Stefan cry by taking all of his toys, Damon caved and admitted to breaking the vase. He couldn't handle seeing Stefan in pain, ever. Katherine took and twisted him into a monstrous rebel. He himself admits this when he tells Liz that Katherine taught him how to kill and how to enjoy it. He solely blames Katherine for ruining him and flat-out states that every awful thing he's ever done is linked to her in some way. Not all rebels are evil, monstrous beings. Some rebels actually make positive changes in the world. But I feel Katherine manipulated that part of him. This once war solider was assisting her in killing before he even became a vampire just by playing injured in the road. And those travelers she fed on were innocent. He's actually more thankful to Sage because he feels she's the reason his bloodlust isn't an issue. She turned something that should be painful into something fun, which made him less violent when he fed. He can stop when he wants to. He literally refers to Sage as his hottest teacher. He trains Elena the same way because she nearly killed Matt. Even when he's not there, she's hallucinating him telling her to stop lol
The CW network does a fantastic job of bringing sibling unity to light. The Salvatores, The Michaelsons, Winchesters, and many more. It's awesome, I love it.
Best relationship in this whole story is Damon and Stefan. It's truly the most unbreakable one. No matter what happens they will put each other before themselves and die for each other and save each other no matter what the case. I'm in love with this brotherly love. If you think about it the whole story truly revolves around the relationship of the two brothers not Elena. Elena is a big part however the story is really about Damon and Stefan. ❤️
This was a really well-done scene. From the actors and the crew. The brothers being honest with each other, and having the cameras switch back and forth between them. The camera only on Stefan while the car pulls up so we don't know if it's Damon yet. The way Damon's face turns when Stefan says he won't find him, and having Stefan say that when he realizes that he can't go on. Everything about this scene was beautiful. Even the music.
two of my favorite shows (this and supernatural) Supernatural hardly does any music except instrumental background music during dramatic scenes and it's beautiful and sad.
