I adore the Victory designs. Mostly because I adore the entire "80s anime robot" design aesthetic, so even though I've only seen like 5 episodes of Victory I went in on both Star Saber and Deathsaurus because they're both so, so "80s super robot" and I couldn't be happier with them. Deathsaurus especially is Masterpiece level, I really don't see how he could be improved on. Hopefully at some point we'll get Dino Force (WITH the pretender shells, no one ever remembers what the inner robots on Pretenders looked like let's face it) and Liokaiser.

She kind of a dork, and I hope they incorporate somethings from the Animated design, in a similar way they did with Masterpiece Roadrage.
The Dino Force are actually coming soon iirc, with the Legacy Core Dinobots and Volcanicus being their pretools. I dunno if they would come with the pretender shells though.

I bought Impactor from Amazon this week. They literally just stuck an address label on the back of the box and posted it freestyle. Delivered it to my neighbour too so I had the walk of shame to go get it. ,

Liokaiser might just be a Generations line 6-release.

With that price point this one is way out of my league, glad we have this amazing man out there living our wildest collectors dreams.

Aw man Thew, if only you saw the bit in the instructions where you can make the death chicken hold the massive cannon, it would've wrapped around from being the silliest thing you've ever seen to the GREATEST thing you've ever seen.
It is impossible to mount that preposterous gun on that giant robo chicken death monster without cracking a big, silly, mad scientist smile. I know these unboxing videos are off-the-cuff by nature, but I would’ve loved to witness Thew’s irrepressible cackle upon doing that for the first time.
As a child, I only had one part of Monstructor- Icepick. And he used to ride around on G2 Megatrons shoulder, like a little Decepticon parrot.
Hasbro absolutely NAILED this. It's like they listened to every single criticism people had with Victory Saber and LEARNED FROM THEM.
I am so ridiculously happy with him.

I love the Victory designs. Deathsaurus is like if Soundwave was the main villain and also the devil (and according to the manga also had a wife).
I remember a friend introducing me to Victory like 6 years ago and that was actually my first real deep dive into Transformers.
Them naming him PīPŌ is like Hasbro naming a Protectobot WeeWoo.

You did miss one amazing feature: how Kaiju mode holds the giant cannon on his shoulder with his little boob arm like a rocket launcher! Honestly, such an insane addition and I have him posed like that all the time. Kaiju with a bazooka... it's wild! Thank you again for all you do!

frankly if they had revealed the micromasters like a week earlier i wouldve backed this lad myself, by that time i was out of money and they were what pushed me over the edge of actually wanting to buy one for myself
Genuinely winced when thew held up the massive sword because one of the only bits I’ve seen of victory is the one where Deathsaurus genuinely almost hacks Saber’s arm off with it. It’s VICIOUS. I love it so much

Deathsaurus was everything I ever wanted. No other transformer balances badass and silly quite the way he does.

As a kid I always thought deathsarous was the evolution of soundwave. My kid brain just saw cassettes and linked them together. I consider soundwave being the last of the first wave of decepticons and somehow turned into deathsarous lol
Man, I wish I could've had afforded this, a Giant Chromed Space Murder Chicken Kaiju with a throne, a big ass rifle, a big ass scimittar, 2 minions and a morning star? it's everything I could've wanted.

Well, in the Transformers: Prime finale movie Preadking's two Predacon minions are Sky Lynx and Darksteel. Darksteel has the DS name construction (toy has the color scheme) and turns into a chicken dragon so there is a universe where they are friends.

deathaurus is sooo good, love the figure, also is you are having issues with him sliding out of his throne, the dragon head kinda slots into a groove near the top and holds it pretty well, without tipping it forward
The figure is outstanding, got my one displayed on the throne. Where I have the legs resting on Studio Series Starscreams throne like a stool. Was the only reason I got the figure in the first place.
Strip down most of the accessories and you have one pretty amazing Commander Class entry for 2024. This thing while looking phenomenal in robot mode has perhaps one of the most bizarre creature alt modes I've ever see. Hilariously silly and impossible not to love. Very how much I feel about the Skylinx design in how dumb but unrepentantly fun and dumb it is. Great review and probably the best Haslab release yet without costing a small fortune Side note: SS Galvatron needs a monthly Megatron. Decided to pick one up, and pretty fun and articulated figure. Not perfect by any means but the transformation is surprisingly quite fun though quite involved.
This figure is great, BTW threw the cannon also tabs onto his shoulder

Apparently, the flail's ball and chain is from the original Masterpiece Megatron, of all places! Also, he can hold that cannon in dinosaur mode. There's a notch on the shoulder, and everything.

also during the 90's G1 Deathsaurus' toy was repurposed into a Brave series character named "Red Geist" from the 3rd Brave series "The Legend of Brave Fighter Dagarn".

I really could see Deathsaurus as a Soundwave who got found by Unicron and got upgraded with the breast animals being the cassettes.
I'm sure that a lot of the faults with the Earthrise Micromasters was to do with how they had to also be guns, the two in this set benefit from not having to do that extra thing.

I just binged a bunch of these and I'm shocked nobody has sent in a custom Carpetdoor.
He does plug in a bit better than that on the throne on my copy. I had to fiddle with the back kibble to get it in the proper position and he gets in there pretty well.
Always excited to watch a Dammit Open, and even more excited to hear someone else reference Bushes of Love! HELL YEAH! Now that's the only thing I'm going to think of when I look at my Deathsaurus.

Excellent review, darned impressive toy! Thank you! But as amazing as it is, it kinda bugs me that they did SOME vac-metal on him, but didn't replicate his full vintage toy vac-metal coverage. Cartoon-"accurate" colours will always be a pale imitation of the true badjesty of a G1 figure.
And yes, "Godzilla Minus One" is a bloody amazing film. Certainly the best Godzilla movie I've ever watched, the first film to get me back into a cinema since October 2019, and the only film I've paid to see more than once in the cinema since "Jurassic Park" in 1993.
Gotta say, though, this Deathsaurus and "Minus One" Godzilla are so dang thicccc, it's like they were both designed by Pixar.
