I love the idea that, midway through shooting someone like Armourhide, Clench kust turns around to a garage attendant and goes "NO! I want the windscreens to be LIME GREEN!"
The glittery plastic on Clench here has always given me the impression that despite his brutal exterior, he's a bit of a musing, stargazing type of fellow, someone who'd be pretty chill to wax poetic with when he's not trying to kill you.
Def wears sparkly nail polish when he isn't fighting. The man has asthestic!

2001 RID Scourge actually had a role in that show that Clench could probably pull off, Megatron usually hung back in the villain HQ sitting on his throne being the end boss while Scourge took the job of being in the field fighting Optimus Prime
Clench definitely deserves a return. I feel like Earthspark could bang out a killer design for him

Ooohhh that Speckled Deco, neon everything and weird techno detail makes Clench just the pinnacle of pinacle of 90’s Laser Tag/arcade design. The 90s is practically palpable with this one!
I really hope we get a new leader class clench. These euro G1 lads need some love. Him and a deluxe ironfist would be amazing.
I would give anything for a leader class Clench and a commander class Thunderclash. Those two both seriously need some new, faithful toy representations.

8:34 Funnily enough, I've seen rigs of that size hauling single dumpsters in the US. Not necessarily as general garbage trucks but specific services for certain kinds of refuse (I'm going to guess e-waste or the like). That would explain the *attempt* at a manipulator on the back, though the real trucks basically just have a forklift built into the bed (which means that the dumpster is oriented *horizontally*).
Or it's just pure eurojank idk.
Ironically enough, Rodimus' alt mode *is* one misplaced axle away from being a normal cutaway van.
Seeing this review again, and noticing the great big shoulder pieces as well as the breathing mask head, I think there may have been a Warhammer 40k fan designing this guy.

That pink is freaking battery operated it's so bright and I love it so much
That breakdown at the end of The Wound is absolutely putrid, I love it. Very kinda Bolt Thrower-y, which is a huge plus in my book.
got the earthspark/cyberverse shockwave recently and i love how this figure looks so good in robot mode, and they crawler mode is so unique that its just so fun, painting it to look a bit more like prime shockwave

Absolutely one of my favourite G1/G2 figures. Some of the lads from that very specific era that Clench is from just have pure presence. You chuck them on the shelf between almost any set of figures and they will be the eye catching ones.

Aaaah man that late 80's/early 90's aesthetic. I had a color changing hot wheels car that had that same speckled dark blue and seeing it on Clench here instantly brought me back to six year old me soaking the car in hot water to make it turn a different color. Heck yeah.

I owned this back in 1993 and sold it in 2019. It makes me happy seeing this vid. I have always love the colours and I feel it a toy that personifies the 90’s.
One of the G2-defining figures for me and it would be a crime if we never got a new, 'proper' version of this badass.
Those colors are everything! They remind me of the carpet from a black light mini golf course I went to years ago and now I want him.

I doubt it'll ever happen but I hope we get a Legacy Clench figure. He fits the vibe of Legacy's obscure characters
I love seeing Clench - I remember seeing him in Germany when I was a kid and Transformers seemed dead in the United states. I always loved his crazy colors, transformation, and a trailer weapon that actually seemed worth the price of entry. Imperfect yes, but a real standout in his day and age that deserves better than he got!
Rogue limb might not but Transformers inspired but it's still awesome, the second half of An Echo moves me.
This guy along with the likes of Thunderclash, Rapido, Deluge and others have been on my wishlist for the modernization treatment since I got into this fandom. I'm one of those VERY niche G1.5, G2, Machine Wars fans who just goes by the lore of the character packaging bios.
"Naked neon alien flesh breaking the disguise" is a great descriptor for my mental state.

The chest piece, the weird green dots, the triangular decepti-diaper, I think Clench's whole torso might just be a horrifying almost decepticon badge. The dots are the eyes.

When I had this as a kid, I always played it off as he was a Decepticon who got badly mangled in the war (The movie messed me up, okay?) and the whole 'transforms into only half a vehicle' angle was the consequence. Basically the trailer was his version of a wheel-chair.

Clench, Pyro and that entire years toys are some of my favourite releases we've ever had, I'm lucky that I bought most of the Euro releases just before Botcon 2010 when the prices went insane.
I'd say it's a semi carrying a SAM module honestly. That's what I think it is at least.

As a G2 toy this is pretty awesome. A two part forming truck is something I don't think I've ever seen in Transformers. This feels like the in between G2 Laser Prime and Thunderclash (Also Prime at a point) Very cool weapons platform and a lot more innovative than the Laser prime one. This would fit Leader class really well in Legacy. Congrats on your first album. As a Metal fan sounds awesome.
Accurately described this toy, its aesthetics are just sooo cool. Love when they do sparkly plastic, like Crumplezone
Apart from the standard G1 cartoon line figures, I remember Clench, Thunderclash & Skyquake in my collection because of their garish colours. I bought the Botcon Clench for my CHUG display, so happy with the updated version. With the MMC Thunderclash, I’m just waiting for a repainted G1 legacy Skyquake to quench my childhood thirst!

A little funny they did eventually officially build up a mirror match rival to Optimus but made that their vibe for Legacy Motormaster.
NGL took a while to realize those were different songs. 10/10.
He definitely has that mid to late game boss energy, like Vulcan Raven from MGS1. Big jacked dude with a MASSIVE weapon who is ready to kill anything, but then you realize he's a pretty big idiot and forgettable for the rest of the game.
Im digging the matching color scheme of the figure and your nails.

Seems like he'd be a perfect candidate for an out-of-left-field repaint of Legacy Laser Prime, with a slight re-tool for the chest piece. If they wanted to get spicy they could build up a new weapon box to sit over the back of the alt mode instead of the trailer.
Legacy Clench, that's what we need!

I just realized that Clench's battle platform's claw comes to rest in a very similar position to Trashmaster's bucket.
Never knew this character existed until this video and I need this in Legacy or FansHobby to do one!
That truck mode just exudes power and the truck grill as shoulder pads looks awesome.
