The MythBusters team have collectively been scientific/intellectual heroes for almost an entire generation. I loved science. Many of my childhood friends didn't really care about science in the classroom. Until people like Kari were making it entertaining on MythBusters. The team fostered something beautiful for an entire country. I'm sorry that Kari finds herself in a situation that she needs to do this. We ALL know better. Shell has covered up climate change for 50 years. Many oil companies are responsible for the direction our climate is heading. But Shell might be one of it not THE most responsible entity for it, because they potently misled our governments. They pacified efforts to move away from oil, because it was harmful to Shell. Millions of people are going to die in the next 50 years because of how unstable the world is becoming, and Shell's only cause to pivot from its actions are that it got CAUGHT. They're literally still holding the trick in their bag in case it becomes potent again in the future. I'm sorry to be ashamed of Kari Byron right now. But reaching people and engendering a love for the pursuit of knowledge in children across the country and beyond for years, and this? What happen, the Mythbusters residuals run dry?
This is why they're striking, those residuals are so low.
This is truly disgusting.
Kari really scraping the bottom of the (oil) barrel huh? I guess everyone experiences a fall from grace given enough time (and dirty money).
Grant would be so disappointed in this, as the rest of us are. This has to be one of the more depressing videos i've seen lately and I havn't made it past the thumbnail
Ooft this one hurts the most.
Because he probably would be so disappointed in her.
Please change the title to Shilling in Deep Water
WOW THIS IS GREAT PROPAGANDA WELL DONE SHELL AND KARI
How much did you pay her to do this? She a vegetarian and cares about our planet but maybe I was wrong.
So the oil that runs the farm equipment that gets your veggies to your table.... uh... what does that have to do with anything?
@@youtubasoarusand yet you participate in society! Curious!
@@youtubasoarusparticipation does not negate criticism you melon
Looks like my respect for Kari is the final myth she's busted. Sad.
Hopefully this one works better than Deepwater Horizon did, hey Kari?
I'm dismayed in a way that cuts almost as deep as finding out Robin WIlliams took his own life.
nobody ever NEEDS to shill for a big oil company. We all make choices. This one was likely for millions of dollars
If she needed money, she could have started her own version of Tested on YT.
I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.

"Hi I'm Kari Byron and my endorsement can be purchased."
I'm only commenting because I get a free gas card from Shell.
Shell invents the greatest petro material of the century - Transparent Astroturf
if you listen closely you can hear Grant turning in his grave.
Is there a form somewhere I have to fill out before I can post fake supportive comments for cash, or has that job been completely taken over by bots?
sadly mostly bots. If you look at the accounts that are saying they love this poison they all have no activity until now.
Kari if you were this desperate for money opening an only fans would be 1000x more respectable and 100,000x morally superior.
Oh wow, I totally agree, I hope it was enough money to not have to work... Then again there's alwasy fox news. Just think of the credibility she woudl give to all the cazy "OiL wArMiNg Is A lIbErAL Lie!" people.
I'm sure you had an idea as to how many "sell-out" comments you would receive for this, But I guarantee you weren't ready for how much actual disappointment you've caused.
you were loved, now you're hated. that fast.
Deeply, deeply disappointed in Ms. Byron. Up until this moment I was still under the misapprehension that she was an environmentalist. At the very least she talks a good game.
Congrats Kari on selling your dignity!
I remember an episode where she cheered-on Cory to try to bunny hop his bike over an obstacle, only to turn and say an aside to her camera, with a big grin, that she was trying to get him to crash.
This definitely isn't the drilling people wanted when they thought of her
Let us die breathing our air - byron, Kari
I'm Kari Byron, I wanted money in exchange for my morals! 🎉👍🙏
Yaaaasss I love cooking to death on this planet ❤🎉😊
You either die a hero or watch yourself become the villain. To bad I liked Kari as a host on mythbusters.
this comment thread makes me so happy. people get it.
