    I'm saving for my first Nighthawk. It drives me nuts when guys say stuff like "any gun over $500 is too expensive". And when you ask them, they've generally never fired any thing other than a Glock, SW or Ruger.
    My lease favorite thing about "gun guys" is that most of them don't know shit and yet most pretend like they know it all.

      Lots of gun owners are like that. Basically from what I've seen they buy tons of low end guns and get mediocre results for more cash spent or bite the bullet and get fewer high end guns but get more out of the firearms ultimately spending less money in the end by not wasting time on the crap.

      I recently acquired a Nighthawk GRP Recon and ive been fiddling with it- last night i decided to pull my Kimber Custom II out to compare and it felt like a piece of broken metal. i was shocked in the difference (i had previously thought that my custom II was actually quite smooth)

    What's nice to note: With the Express gun initiative you can even get one of these in California. Its not on the approved California gun list, but Nighthawk will sell you a california compliant base gun the GRP i believe, then you send it back to Nighthawk and they modify to the firehawk standard. I'm buying myself something nice next month from my local. He handed me one of these with the RDS installed. I was sad as I thought my Cz A01LD was the be all end all. This, however is a Bugatti that you can drive everyday. Just racking it back feels like I'm handling the highest of precision machines. Its now being held for me for pickup in a couple of weeks. @nighthawkcustoms can this be upgraded to the double stack or is that something you must order ahead of time?

  • @AGC828
    @AGC828 2 года назад +1

    I thought the Firehawk was all-steel. :) Is there any reason why the Firehawk wasnt an all-steel gun? Steel slide steel frame.
    Trying to recall if any one's made an all-steel gun with a comp. on the barrel or built-in.

    • @NighthawkCustomFirearms
      @NighthawkCustomFirearms  2 года назад

      The Fire Hawk usually comes in single stack-that is fully machined billet steel. This Fire Hawk has the double stack upgrade which makes it have a fully machined billet steel frame and the grip is billet aluminum. All other parts are fully machined steel

    • @danielhenderson8316
      @danielhenderson8316 Год назад

      It's also a 2011 style gun that has 3 separate components: Slide, frame, and grip. The frame and grip are two different pieces and the gun won't work without both.

    @nighthawk custom : what is the circumference and side width of the double-stack upgrade grip? Is it comfortable to hold for shooters with medium hands?

    • @NighthawkCustomFirearms
      @NighthawkCustomFirearms  4 года назад +1

      That's a good question, PK.
      When it comes to width, the Double Stack grip is actually right at 1.26" while one of our single stack grips comes in around 1.3". So, there's not much difference in width, and what little there is, it favors the Double Stack.
      As far as grip width on the side, the Double Stack measures 2.56" while a single stack comes in at 2.34". So, the single stack has a bit of a smaller profile in that regard.
      As far as circumference, we'd be looking at 7.64" for the Double Stack and 7.28" for a single stack. That's less than half an inch in circumference.
      All that said, we can say that not one shooter that has handled one of our Double Stacks has thought it was too big. Large hands, medium hands, small hands, we haven't heard direct feedback that the grip doesn't fit their hands. But, personal preference is going to differ from person to person.
      Hope this helps.

    • @PKBratney
      @PKBratney 4 года назад +2

      @@NighthawkCustomFirearms Thank you, that's a very helpful response. It's surprising to me that the double stack grip is actually less wide than the single-stack. My current primary pistol is a Wilson Combat EDC X9, which is a double stack 9mm. I imagine the grips would be similar in size? I'm very interested in the Firehawk, however! I met you guys at SHOT Show 2020, and was really impressed by the quality of everything I saw. Keep up the great work.

    • @NighthawkCustomFirearms
      @NighthawkCustomFirearms  4 года назад +1

      @@PKBratney Thank you, PK! From a size standpoint, they're probably close, but we don't have specs on that pistol. And the Fire Hawk is a great pistol. The Double Stack Fire Hawk has been very popular.

      We understand there are many who would love to see a double stack in .45 ACP. At this time,, the demand for double stack 9mm pistols far outweighs the .45 ACP. We're not saying we will never do a .45 ACP double stack, but at this time we're sticking with the 9mm.
