Here's a simple Rocket Stove design that you can build for about 10 bucks !
I'll share the measurements, and the materials used... so you can build it yourself.
Even if you don't weld, this is so simple, someone else could make it FOR you...
very cheap.
Thanks for watching!

If you would like to buy one, here is a very similar stove for sale: www.rocketstoves.co.uk/
I loved the video man. To all the people complaining shut up. This is a stove thats great for camping, and emergency cooking/boiling water. I understand not everyone has welding skills and advance tools to accomplish this build. Go stash some bricks and good luck to you and I'll be carrying my stove anywhere I want to cook.
This guy is cool. I like all his videos. He'd be a fun neighbor to have.
Thanks for the video. I was still able to get a friend ( who is welder ) to make it in about an hour and all it cost me was 12 pack. He even had the tubing lying around in the backyard. He said its scrap and the 12 pack was enough.
Excellent !
Brilliantly simple and made with common items. The best "less is more" rocket stove on the Tube. Cheers!
Excellent video and stove. No back ground music or drama. Just a very informative and easy to follow. Thank you and God bless !
Nice job! Thanks for giving the dimensions for the build.
There are a few modifications I would make, but this is awesome.I think I'm gonna go check out the rest of your videos now.
You don't have to weld it. Get a bag of quick concrete mix it up with a bit of small pee gravel and not to much water. Lay about 2 inches thick pile on a flat area in the shape of the stove. Lay your stove (metal parts that were welded at the 45 cut) on the concrete then build up the concrete around it. Use scrap cardboard or wood (anything) to keep the concrete in place. Then just let the concrete cure. Not only will it hold the metal together it will help keep more heat in the stove. If you don't want to use concrete then use clay mud. It will work as well. it will just be more prone to braking if hit or knocked over. (Heat the clay mud to make it hard like clay planting pots)As for cutting the 45 needed you can get it cut at many hardware stores for near nothing. As for the legs if you want it off the ground set it on some blocks, rocks, or whatever you may have that the heat will not bother... As for air under your pot or pan. Just cut out 2 inch wide by 1 inch deep slots at the top then bend the metal flaps you just made out.
I started to raise a few chickens here so I had to do some research to figure out how to do it right, and as I was searching I ran across the Preppers and the Homesteaders, all seem to be raising chickens.. I learned about the rocket stove along with making my own laundry detergent, and how to build my own inexpensive green house from TexasPrepper here. I want to build a rocket stove heater, not the mass bench style, but a wood type stove.. My uncle is a welder, and from watching video after video on them, I've come up with my own ideas on how I'd like to make my own.. Being a plumber, carpenter and a electrician, along with understanding heating systems I pretty much can figure these things out on my own.... Because of my research I've subscribed to a lot of preppers and homesteaders, RUclips channels. One is connected to the LDS that must of didn't like my RUclips channel much and then unsubscribed me from them. I resubscribed back again not saying a word because sometimes it can be a glitch in the system.. We all have a certain way we believe in life,, I'm just not ashamed of mine..
Back to the Rocket stoves,, they are very impressive
I can see that after sixty something years, I need to learn some welding skills.
Good Vid, TP2.
i love the design, my wheels are turning right now thinking of the ways that i could build a smoker from the base burner, you opened me up to a different level of thinking and i appreciate it, thank you very much there is soooooo much that you can do with this initial build
Damn Folgers container triggered my coffee addiction!.
Awsome idea, probably going to make one for camping this summer. Thanks for posting this.
Good design and I like the clearance advantage from the ground. Enjoy it and get good use out of it. thanks for the video.
Dear TexasPrepper2, thank you very much for this video. So far this is the best video I have seen that teach the viewer from preparation to get it working. I will be making one pretty soon thanks to your video. God Bless You.
+robert james
And you too, sir
TexasPrepper2, Nice Job on the stove. I want to apologize for my fellow man's and women's negative comments. So what if it don't meet the Whovever's Standards on Rocket Stove Design...the thing cooks eggs and boils water so therefore it performed as a stove. It cost you about $10.00 to build because you had the skill and the equipment to do it. Remind me that the next time I need to go to the store for a $4.00 gallon of milk to figure in the cost of a $35,000 vehicle, fuel, Insurance, road tax, and various other cost. My $0.02. Great job TexasPrepper2 you answered the comments very well also.
Thanks for the affirmation...
I just fixed breakfast. The cost was 250,637. That's 50 cents for the sausage, 50 cents for the eggs, 32 dollars for the pan, 600 for the stove, and 250K for the house. At this rate, I can no longer afford to eat.
great video i watched 30 or so videos on rocket stoves and most went on and on like they were building the taj ma halll , what i like about your videos you get to the point - did- done -finished. keep them coming . thanks
Simple, to the point and very effective, Thank You!
Hats off to you man....great job....Love the idea of a 4 arm burner for safety and stabiltiy....This is a great concept. Good Job.
Great idea! You could also cut the legs near the chimney and put 3/4"x2" sleeves on it for backpacking. Just a thought.
This a simple neat design and I think a good one to start with. With a 2 foot long piece of square tubing you can have a 10inch chimney, 8 inch burn tube and a 6 inch vertical feed. A good "J" tube stove as they feed better. Intend to build one myself as soon as the weather changes here.
Yes you can insulate it or even use this as the "Burn Tube" section of a barrel heater. But this, for my money, is nice, cheap durable design. Good Job Texas!
Nice job with great instruction. Thanks man!!
Simple, straight-forward and effective. thanks!
It reminds me of a Katydid for some reason, lol, I like it I will have to build one, out of all I have seen it is the simplest and straight forward... Every time I watch your videos your voice reminds me of George Straight... Have a Blessed one bud.
Good vid man. The complaining and criticisms are ridiculous.
Larry Tyler Thanks :)
Nicely done!
Really cool, going to have to make one of these here pretty soon.
Very nice and the clearance from the ground is great, won't have to bend over very far or get on your knees to cook, lol!
Seems like it works as good as the expensive silver fire units. Great video. Thanks
Very nice design and cheap! Great vid and Stove!
Very nice, thanks for sharing.
nice work brother
Very economical stove. Thanks for sharing!
I loved this, very good and informative. Well done!👍😉
Howdy! ;) I like Texas and Texans. Lived there for a few years, still love to visit when I get a chance. Nice video.
Thanks, it's simple. Nice to have one on legs, I plan on a platform in the back with a gazebo this summer, a little stove like that to ward off bugs (live in Northern Canada) would be good. Looking at the comments seems like none of them are old enough to have grown up with three legged furniture to stop wobbles because floors weren't always level in houses.
Great video. To all the people complaining about tools: The only tools you would have to have to build this is a welder (can get them for $100 or less even especially used) and a hacksaw (I recommend one around $20-25 as the cheap ones don't hold the blade very taught) or an angle grinder and a pack of cutoff discs which can be had (low quality) for about the same as a good quality hacksaw. So even if you had nothing and no friends with anything this could be built for around $130 and you would have the tools leftover for other projects or you could sell them.
Fantastic video keep em coming
That's very cool! Amazing that you can cook eggs and boil water with just a few small sticks.
you are an artist. awesome. camping in the northeast, you can find lotta stones, rockwalls. you could just use the L-portion, and set up on stones, and around it, for to put the pot. how cool, to use so little twigs, to do cooking.
Great Job! Makes me want to break out my welding stuff.
Awesome design I am going to build a few of these for my shop. But the perpendicular firebox isn't that important once you got it going. A lot of people add a 45 degree secondary firebox and put lids on them so once you get it going with the flat box you can close it and open the 45 box and it acts as a wood hopper for the stove. It works really well from what ive seen.
Nice! Simple and cheap.
Skeeter Stove! I have a suggestion on the air plate. You could either bend the lower front corners to keep it from sliding inside so easily, or use tin snips and cut 1/8" to 1/4" at the top of each side of that plate and then bend each side 45 degrees or more so it can't go in to far. Great video, hoping to get a welder and do stuff like this very soon. BTW, subbed and liked, so I'm not hatin one bit.
Good design. Since my chimena broke been wanting to something different for the back yard cookery. Only mod ideas I have is maybe more of an angle inlet with some 1/2 tubing tack'd on the bottom to ensure an always open airway. Next door in Louisiana. Thanks,
Love it ! came out great. Reminds me of the Mother's sculptures in BeetleJuice.
That's too cool...love it!
Great little stove great video keep them coming
nice job texas prepper!
beautiful work man. very nicely done. if you ever decide to start selling those for preppers i think you'd have a lotta buyers. specially if you make those legs collapsible or slide in
Good job!
Excellent design.
It is a DK Rocket Stove design, look it up
That was neat.
Thanks
Very nice! Add a reese hitch, that would be cool. Again, great job, looks and works great
Great video keep it simple idea im going to try to make one .
Heavy duty. Definite keeper.
Great design
Very nice ! I like it.
great job! awesome vid, thank you.
I love the kiss rocket stove. people over think and can always do it bigger a better but don't ever see them doing it. keep up the video's
Very Good job... enjoyed the video :)
*I Love This!*
it's a super simple easy Rocket Stove that can be built in less than a couple of hours. Well done TexasPrepper2!
*I can see me building one of these this summer...*
#rocketstove #outdoorcooking
I would just go grab a chimney starter at walmart for $10
Porterhouse Perfection-Food Network
10 bucks oh yes and 1000 bucks worth of kit to do it
thank you for teaching me how to build the rocket stove... God bless you
And you sir !
cool little rocket stove, I don`t have a welder so I made mine out of aluminium 6" wide floor studs n screws ,used 1 disk off the grinder, n used a bit of muffler cement to block the small cracks the secret is to make it air tight .I built it at work n found my parts from the scrap pile .I cut the top like a tower off a castle a n had no problem with it . I made a few of them n my fav. is the J rocket stove just make ur fire n put long sticks in the button J n forget, it less maintenance that way I find .it takes less then 1 hour to built n about 5$, old wood skids works great for burning
great job!
I like your style TexasPrepper !
Nice video !
***** Thanx
Why not put some kind of screen over your chimney to cut down on the ash from coming out? Also, I would use four pieces, not three to support the pot or pan.
I've built 3 from Freon Tanks and been cooking on them for years. Fly Ash is a problem with all Rocket stoves. Putting a screen on them cuts down the draft and makes for burning problems. The only way I've found to cut down on the Fly Ash is to use very dry hard woods.
amazing. I love it , good and small enough to bring along in the forrest , camping e t c.
Good job meester
although longer legs would be a good idea
a sheet of metal to sit it on, instead of the wobbly plastic table
and if you shine the sides of the rocket instead of painting it... You could weld little "pocket grills" for either do toast or even baked potatoes in foil and inside little cans
Putting attachments on the side for "toast" or other things is a GREAT idea... THANKS!
Cool stove!
Great video, great information!
Nice execution! Though I prefer the `J` rocket for the self feeding feature.
Try using tubing on the legs and pot supports the proper size and then slide your legs and supports in so the stove will be more transportable. You can size the rebar to be removable from the tubing so you can take them off.
Wow nice n EZ design and American made!
Easy and economical I like good work
congrats.! nice job and cheap to make. greetings from Argentina
Eliane Serfas Thanks ... and greetings from Texas !
Nice job. I like the feeder tube to be angled somewhat to allow self-feeding of the fuel. Save having to keep pushing stick in and you can tip pellets in if you want. But it works so that meets the brief :)
I've thought about making another one with an angled feeder... might just do that when it cools off a little :)
Very cool
Very nice Job
I think it would work better if you had a bigger firebox. That way it could draw in more oxygen .
that good, congratulations
Hey tex, nice work but could i point out that the main feature of the riser is super insulation. You are losing much of your heat through the steel. regards DC
that's pretty darn good..
Callie Fever thanx
Nice Job.
Nice!
Nice Stove, enjoyed the Video Thanks for sharing
Philip Trivitt Thanks for the comment !
I thumbed this up, not for the awesome stove but for the awesome accent.
What accent ?
:)
TexasPrepper2 Ha! Keep on rocking man
Well that is really neat.
Thanks!
Nice Job
Good job
Nice work but I question your choice in materials. Metal feels cold to you when you touch it because it conducts the heat away from you. It does the same to your fire. In order to have a clean burn you net high temperatures. You can't get that very well with metal. Maybe lining the burn chamber with some kind of rigid insulator would help.
Hey, real good job brother! On the chimney length I think the longer the more draw like a siphon-the lower you go the faster the water comes out. If level was an issue you could stick a magnetic torpedo level on that frying pan and bend the legs accordingly. You could use a piece of wire cloth at the top for a spark arrester too. :) God Bless!
Excellent... Love this. ❤️👍
Natsir Im
Thanks!
Great, I loved it, I'll try to make one on my place. Congratulations !!! No disrespect Sir, but I laughed when you said: "my wife is impressed, maybe because she's easily impressed", you even lowered the tone of your voice.
i dont drink coffie ether but hot chocolate and tea great job
Nice stove man :-)
Nice stove
Very slick! :)
Just a thought on the fabrication... Cut a 4" tall hole out of the side of the chimney, use it to put fill in the bottom, and just weld the firebox section straight to the side of the chimney. No having to mess with a 45deg cut! ...and it'll be a 90deg joint guaranteed! Assuming your tube was cut straight to begin with.
The best one I' ve seen is the 4 cylinder blocks it took 5 minutes from build to cook
How long is the burn chamber and chimney? I'm trying to built one myself thanks..
