    So informative,especially the bit about winding. I've wanted to loc for years. Live that you care for loose and loc'd hair. I've been watching youtuber Lillian Okibe's journey. She started on loose braids and uses a version of the winding you mentioned in place of twisting for thick locs. Not sure how hers will mature but they're the thick fluffy look I want. Any thoughts on that method Narada?
    IIRC, your new doc has a nice set of locs too!
    Hope your hands are still doing well!

    Great advice. I had to up my washes to every week from every other week because I workout. My strands like to escape also but I'm only 6mo in. I see a difference in them though from the earlier months. I can't wait to see how they are in a year. I like the dark gray shirt btw.

    Don't wash for a couple of months or more!!!!! I think NOT 😂! I have to at least rinse or wash my hair in between my 3/4 week retwists the way I sweat in this heat or while working out 😅.

    What if you have rope twist in? Should you still wash it if it’s almost been a month? I’m 6 months loc’d

      My question is why wouldn't you? What is the reason you have for not washing it?

      @@AfrikanHairGod I want them to be curly/wavy when I take out the rope twist and the parts still somewhat neat. I feel like if I wash it it might mess up the look I want when I take them out

      @@babybutterfly2342 you really shouldn't be keeping them in a style that long and you only had locs for 6 months. You might create inconsistencies, weak points, and indentations in your locs from not allowing them to mature properly. You also inhibit them from locking properly when you keep them confined for so long. Also, if you have had your Retwist in for a month, why are you trying to make the style be neat and frizz free after 30 days? It's quite an unrealistic expectation. Don't let the look of your hair prioritize the health of your hair and scalp.

      @@AfrikanHairGod oh okay, I guess I had just wanted the style to last longer so I don’t have to get a retwist again anytime soon, my stylist told me to leave the rope twist in for a month then take down but I will probably take them out sooner now based on your advice

    • @AfrikanHairGod
      @AfrikanHairGod  2 года назад +4

      @@babybutterfly2342 you can leave them in longer after your locs become much more mature but I only recommend leaving a style in no longer than 2 weeks when you have starter locs.
