Like the approach - learn, practice and introduce the technique. The players have to want to take this on board, but the benefits are there for all to see.
Oh, and lose the multi touch - 3 touch makes all the difference! 😉❤️👣⚽️

I recently learned of walking-football after watching the build-up to the men's FA final 18th May. i searched online to know more about the rules of the game and how it's played. After viewing example footage of some established teams, i was surprised that many players were obviously running but no referee decisions. Your vid is much welcomed by a newbie like me. i can see that these technicalities are important, ..especially for the professional reputation of walking-football.

A great clip and one I urge our players and anyone joining us for a game or in our events etc to watch. I take as a guide what you would do on the streets shopping or dashing for a train. Any gait that would look unnatural on the streets would be classed as running and not in the spirit of WF. This includes John Cleese' ministry of silly walks impersonators. This clip and your clip on none contact are on both our websites as guides. The FA should use these to define their description of walking which is, one foot on the ground at all time. This is typically abused buy players using unnatural gaits to gain unfair advantage and results in opponents then running to catch up. If the FA instructed both players and referees in the principle of your videos we could find a solution Universally. Derek Hattersley for Notts County Supporters Walking Football

Generally agree. But it seems you might be suggesting that an unnatural gait equates to breaking the rules. Correct?

Great clip Dave, the techniques shown here will give our guys a greater insight as to what is and isn't acceptable, thanks for taking the time to fully demonstrate a simple and effective way of "not running"

Thanks Dave, running and barging spoil the game, running back off the ball is a particular problem, what has the perpetrator got to lose? Great to see the women doing it properly!

Well done Dave to highlight this I’m as guilty as the rest of us for running at times but some people use this as a easy cop out because I’m much better than them

That's a good video because I didn't really know the difference between walking fast and jogging slowly.
Problem is its still not going to be fast enough to have a chance of keeping up with the sods who are still running......
So if its going to get embedded then getting players to practice proper fast walking (to improve their technique and as a remider) is necessary.
But by itself it won't be sufficient .......... *Unless* Refs blow up for running every time they see it running may be cheating but its a game winning option.
Dunno what the Refs will need to do if the team of the player running isn't already in possession tho.

Well done to all concerned on the video, it's up to the players to make it easier on the referees instead waiting for them to clamp down all the time.
What concerns me is the WFA England National team's recent international games against Italy was a very poor advert for our sport, basically it was a slower paced version of the traditional 5-a-side.
