MOST PEOPLE THINK THAT FUNK CAN ONLY BE ENJOYED ON PLANES BUT THIS SONG PROVES THAT TRAINS ARE A VIABLE OPTION FOR FUNK LOVERS, TOO. THANKS VULF, FOR HELPING HEAL OUR COUNTRY IN THESE TRYING TIMES.
Everyone knows the train is the funkiest mode of transportation
Flying carpets are so underrated
idk ive been on some pretty funky boats before!
You guys are clearly forgetting about buses...
Hello??? Unicycle?? Please...
0:54 Smoothest hands in the world confirmed.
i think it's also because they might have used frame blending on that part of the video. it would add to the disembodied kind of effect
like butter on a biscuit
The restraint on this song is just KILLING.
way to put the train in restraint
Theo looks like he is trying to hold back universes worth of stank. Luckily for us so much of it gets through.
Was watching a news piece on students living with the elderly on Dutch tv, and this was the soundtrack. Somebody at Dutch national tv is a Vulf fan, that's crazy!
Haha dat is vet
For real tho, Jack is a great mixing engineer. This thing sounded great, and he's taken out a lot of his own playing shown in the video in service of the final production. Hats off.
he's definitely a very humble player. in a lot of recordings, he'll put his own playing a lot lower in the mix to highlight the other members more, but it never comes off like he's putting himself down.
@@Roebey I sometimes wonder whether Jack Stratton is an incredibly gifted mixer or if it's the performance and playing...but I think it's both. Phenomenal players and a master mix engineer.
The mix is perfect.... aaaahhh the beauty of the music made by musicians who respect each other's volume, a rarity in many musical genres.
I love it so much when Joe plays a P Bass and I will comment about it every time I notice it.
Ugh, as much as I wanted each of them to bust out a face melting solo, they're all just too good and tasteful to interfere with the groove. Frustratingly satisfying...
Carlos Cajilig just one chorus of arpeggios from hell in the middle
what
In the end if you can sit listen and have a smile on you face.. than that’s all that matters. I always hear from other musicians specially the good ones you learn scales (arpeggios) to forget them. I am a beginning musician.. but it’s good to listen great musicians having a good time.
What an outstanding song and performance. These guys are incredible.
6 years later they gave you what you wanted live
Watching that piano lick at 0:54 is mesmerizing.
Smoothest fingers in the west
its as if im on a train casually jamming to this song while the trees pass by
This song is criminally under rated.
I've been watching this every couple of weeks since 2016.
It is so crazily overwhelming that every track by vulfpeck is sooo good. I mean, every band has tunes that are so la la, but not vulfpeck! Thank you guys for letting me expercience your music!
So chill. That P bass is a thing of true beauty
I think I've literally looped this for an hour straight already and I'm still drooling over it.
this is such an unstoppable groove
Man I'm digging that tone you got on the lap steel.
My god, this is really the epitome of Vulfpeck's original ideal as a studio backing band-- they take second fiddle to Rich and Adam but provide the solid-est of backing drums, bass, and piano for the rhythm and pacing. Really awesome song, stuck with me when I discovered awesomeness that was Vulfpeck. Hopefully it'll always be in my top 5 for them... or hopefully not, as they keep blowing it out of the water!
PS one of the songs for sure on my, "hey mom check out this it's awesome I'm in love" chats.
chuck norris chops with the restraint of the dalai lama. so dope.
Josh Hernandez - ohhh, that is some word silk there sir.
Agreed!
You captured why this video is amazing and frustrating, lol.
That chorus is the happiest thing I’ve ever heard!
My favorite off the new album. Someone get me a ticket to ride Vulfpeck's funk train!
2:38 one of Joe's favorite licks, most notably heard in the first crazy fill on Cory Wong
I feel like the older guy screwed up that fill in and they stumbled for a bit up until that point
real, honest, authentic, god damn I love Vulf.
You forgot good. These guys are so god damn good.
Adam Levy!!! What a legend! I watch guitar tips every week!
New Vulfpeck? Oh dear lord, what a day, what a glorious day. The winds outside are bitter cold and fiercely roaring, but my soul has been brought to warmth and good being. Thanks for this wondrous tune, my dudes.
Am i the only one who sees Theo as the Ringo Starr of this generation? He's so in the pocket and plays to each song so beautifully
Within the framework of his broader contributions to vulfpeck, I see him more as the Paul McCartney of the band
Thank you for temporarily satisfying my unquenchable thirst for more Vulfpeck. Now I must return to watching all your videos again
All hail the vulf. Jack's freaking face is priceless. I'd be facegasming too!
This reminds me I must find my JJ Cale album....love this vibe
So much yes! What a song. And Adam is just the coolest guy ever
Jack's face. The whole time. I'd be freaking out too
Haha that look on Theo's face always makes laugh. What a dude!
for the majority of the song, woody goss is playing only two notes on the piano and it works super well. the restraint is amazing
El chepeeee , the train from my home country :) love you vulfpeck
This is about 1 upright bass and a swing beat away from being just straight jazz. Love it
Dear Vulfpeck, thankyou soooooo much!!!!
the output jack on that strat is hanging on for dear life
Not to mention throwing in some bluegrass country vibes on this one! Proving the versatility of your musical expression! Magnifique!
It makes me happy to see Jack so happy!!
been anxiously awaiting my vinyl
Chris Koelsch same
Tulsa sound! love it JJ Cale lives!
my DUDES

SO STOKED! You guys always look so happy to be playing. Just got tickets to your SF show in June 2017!
what's Jack doin on the guitar?
IS HE THE TRAIN???
04:28 nope
Maybe he has it on looper pedal
He's the conductor on the train...
@@TheMrFunktastic2 perhaps in the live session he was the train but in post he cut himself out and put in a real train
this one is gold
oh that SMOOOOOOTH DSLR action
dem woody goss fingahs
So, I love Vulfpeck and everything they do in general but this one got this little something I can't put words on, but that makes me feel great in my life.
So I guess that's defenitely one of my favorite record they did !!
You're probably familiar with it already, but just in case you're not, you should really check out Rango II
Omg, you guys have actually been in Chihuahua? You gotta come and say hi next time
Love your amazing work, keep it funky
Ehhh el chepe pasa siempre por mi ciudad en Chihuahua jajaja, que random verlo en una canción de mi banda favorita
Absolutely sublime! What beautiful choo-choo-in groove y'all got on... all aboard, and no mistake!
What's the train sample? You guys didn't play to that when tracking right?
I see Jack's guitar is muted here, maybe he was keeping the train feel and it was replaced with the sample.
この曲大好き✨
Ariba ariba 🔥🔥.. hey that’s the guitarist that worked with Norah much love ❤️
Just FYI: This train runs through northern Mexico, is very touristy and safe, you get to see some nice canyons and small towns, and I'm so taking this one with me on my next trip to El Chepe
i dont deserve this treat
chio uruakpa yes you do!
Emanuel Broman Andersson aww thanks for sharing the vulflove
me neither. :D thx vulfie!
I wish I could like this every time I watched it. There would be so many likes.
you guys are just enormous universal beasts
By far my favourite song with beastly!
Fantastic!
clearly you sampled a steam train, but the one you show in the video is diesel-electric! literally unwatchable
j/k
lol
best comment EVER!
I agree, unsubscribed.
This is why I love the internet
Lol
I was really hoping for this to be filmed on an actual train, would've been cool 😂
mega lolz yea no shit, like they couldn't have done it? of course they could. these lazy funks
yazu karuku that's not what I meant at all XD even though I can see now that it did come across that way.....
Putting the song at 0.75 is just something else hot damn
How is it that they can make songs that sound good at any speed lol
The name "chepe" stands for "Chihuahua-pacifico" and i live in Chihuahua, so this song is so wierd for me hahaha. Love it!
Am always excited when a new video alert comes from my fellow mitten dwellers. One of the very few channels I allow for oppressive push notifications!
Some sexy shots of the keys there btw. And, as a designer/editor I have to give love to whoever does your editing, I always feel like I'm a kid again, watching episodes of The Wonder Years, when I watch some of your videos. Is Paul really Marilyn Manson btw?! ;-) Love you guys!
The videos are all Jack!
amazing tone out of that squier strat
So I knew a few songs from them and recently I started listening to more and more until this moment when I decided to go through the albums that are on spotify (by looking each song on youtube because of course the talents also ooozes into the videos) and god I'm having a good time. I will be sour whenever I come across this comment and remember how it was listening to every song for the first time.
Didn't take long.
Que orgullo que la canción tenga el título de un tren Mexicano "el chepe"
you guys should do a 360 video of one of your songs
Just want to inform you that you might be the reason they did one of the most frustrating things ever... add a fake youtube 3D button in the top left of one of their videos ;)
Hah. Soft Parade I think is the closest we'll get to this and I'm okay with that
@@metallsnubben omg which one!?
@@Indianadixon 2 YEARS LATER I GO ON THE QUEST TO FIND IT AGAIN
it was Newsbeat
@@metallsnubben Did you find it??
you guys fucking groove! I'm in love with the bass!
other one.. every work has special feelings
i love u guys
Wow. Love this.
What a band
This gives me so much joy
4:34 I LOVE THAT!
This cranks!!!! So smooth
so good. so good.
AAAALL ABOOOOOAAAARD!!!!
waiting on baited breath to find out when you're coming back to the east coast!
One of my favs
smooth church groove
hell yeah, I was waiting for a video for this
if i could i'd clone woody's and joe's hands and make a 4 armed bass/keys virtuoso one-man band...with theo on drums of course...so a 2 man one-man band... and jack as a full time dancer/creative director...so a 3 man one-man band...
Considering their habbit of cropping people in the thumbnails it would be a "2 man one-man half man" band... which is the best kind of band in my opinion
Yes you didnt need to know this three years later but you now do
I think you're onto something. Also if you have email notifications turned on, welcome back to this video
Soooo good
I LOVE U VULFPECK!!!
I live for Woody's piano licks in this so good fuck
Super, ils ont tout compris à la musique; merci ...
very cool would love to her more like this
I cannot get the feel on that awesome piano part. like I've got the notes down but it's so hard to play it with that perfect a feel and he does it so effortlessly. Woody, please please make a video explaining that part? I love it so much.
What are the notes?
Theo channeling his inner Levon
beautiful
Brilliance
my fav vulf song
Rubix cube at 2:34 is in an impossible position in the solvable permutation. Somebody has taken that cube apart
yeah okay and chemtrails are sinking from the sky into my earl grey to get me to pay my taxes. oh yeah and world war two was a hoax generated by tom hanks to get us to pay him money for saving private ryan... tsk tsk. stupid truthers.
meowleycat wot
Wrong, once a rubiks is complete there is an algorithm that allows u to put it in what's called cube in a cube. No taking apart needed
Silky cricket hah yeah
Ok einstein its a fuckin cube
Please come to mexico!
literally every time I listen to this song I’m imagining a middle aged white man with a beer belly & a mortgage dancing his heart out to this song
also the bridge sounds like it would match up perfectly with Pearl’s dance from the movie pearl
I love this
this was lit af
Can't stop dancing on this tune guys when i'm high...it's to good
This real good.
