I remember going to see these guys play at a USC house party. By the time Vulfpeck was halfway through their set, I looked back and the place was /packed/. I mean there were people everywhere! Rows of people going all the way back into the street, people standing on trash cans, sitting in window sills, dancing on the roof, sitting on shoulders, honestly i thought the house was gunna collapse. I've spent hundreds of dollars to see bands perform in massive stadiums but nothing has ever compared to the $10 I spent to watch this band groove out for an hour across the street from an Arco gas station. So good.
@@Teg_Miles if you watch the video for sky mall, you can see that a wurlitzer's leg falls over and makes that *clang* noise, which fit perfectly into the recording
Vulfpeck is like a cross between Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, and a healthy dig from past and present of funky blends. Brilliant bass lines AND they totally have fantastic taste IMHO in their use of sound effects on the instrumentation. Don't get me started on the keyboard sounds. Impressed on all sides :-)
Vulfpeck need to tour in England, it would make my life. I don't care if I have to pay for their tickets to get here, to hear this live would be impossibly amazing.
YES! See you there brother, I just discovered Vulfpeck yesterday and bought the ticket straight away. I thought that if I didn't, I'd probably regret not seeing them for ever so there I am, on the coach from Newport to London to see them :D
absolutely love you guys. bringing real music back into it! such great bass and extremely funky keyboard riffs. I'm sure I'm not the only one to say that you absolutely need more of antwan. His voice is godly and definitely completes your sound. I do love the instrumentals tho, just need more of antwan. cant stop singing 1612
wha da funk!! Impossible to listen to this on headphones at the office and don't start jumping on your feet!! I can't work anymore!!! Best album EVER!!!!
Holy sh!7! Just randomly stumbled upon you guys, where have you been all my life! So much groove, so much swag, so much funk, so much soul! Keep it up. Love it all. The drummer is so dialed in I can't stop dancing, that bass speaks to my soul, those keys are more warm than a hawaiian rainbow, and that voice, wordddddddd. Thank you for existing to make sweet sweet music for my ears
Just discovered this album on 2022. This album is sooo dope and groove game is strong! That "Frank Sinatra" in 1612 though!! Everytime I hear Antwaun singing it, I always sing and shout along as if I'm in the middle on their concert.
What are you, 13? If so, well, do us a favor. Come back here in 10 years, or even just 5, to read these comments again. The feeling of shame you'll feel by reading them, thinking "god, I was a dumbass kid" will be enough to make up for your idiocy now. If not, I feel sorry for you and the people you meet every day.
Close your eyes and "First Place" could easily be mistaken for the greats Steve Gadd, Richard Tee, and Will Lee. And that's some friggin' high praise. This is outstanding.
I am biased, because Steely Dan has been my favorite band since I was like 12, but Vulfpeck is not quite there for me. They are also a very different band. VERY GOOD, VERY TALENTED, not Steely Dan though, for me. But, great taste!!!
i recognize my father on the front of this album cover but i haven't spoken to him in many years. please help me and give me his contact. thank you. he's the one with the groove. -son of milk carton father
Huge Ep. I listened all albums and EP and it's awesome. Very good work guys. My favorite song was the song with Antwaun Stanley. You deserve more guys. Continue like this. "love sending"
Love Vulfpeck! Also check out Brother Strut. Not as dirty and filthy funk, but still a very funky, tight band. I like the stuff where they are playing in the attic room. Also loving jar Bernhoft. Amazing live too.
Love it! Really hoping to make it out to the Brick and Mortar in SF next month! Thanks for putting it up here as well - bandcamp is blocked at work and I need my funky grooves.
Massive Record!!! I am certain that if you collabed with Micheal McDonald for one song every yacht on Earth would simultaneously dry-dock. Keep it up boyos!

yo, i booked that show. best night of my life. so glad you had a great time
@@stopitsgingertime Thanks for providing us with those interviews (:
Fugue State is a masterpiece. It feels like flying in outer space in a spaceship made of marsmallows.
as with every Woody Goss song, actually ;)
I love your description. Big marshmallows or the little ones? Silly question-big ones, right?!!😂🛸
@@anneldridgemalone I think the perfect description for the wurli of woody, are the little marshmallows
I love the wurlitzer leg at 10:53 - if I hadn't watched the video, I would have had no idea it was "extra", it fits perfectly with tone and timing
What you mean?
@@Teg_Miles if you watch the video for sky mall, you can see that a wurlitzer's leg falls over and makes that *clang* noise, which fit perfectly into the recording
discovered this band two days ago and gone crazy since then
Me too, a week ago. I am sleep DEPRIVED😮😊🎉
same but yesterday hi everyone
Huge Mercy, Mercy, Mercy sound in Newsbeat... I love that song and this one. This album melts my ears
thank you for bringing this to the universe we share
Sky Mall is like an acid trip through an options menu in a late 90's/early 2000's PC game.
Or plays during the outtakes on the DVD extras from a SciFi Comedy movie.
Fuge state was the firs vulph song i ever heard and I've been obsessed ever since
It's like Steely Dan meets Marvin Gaye. I dig!!!

theflyingmusician1 * Sister, and yep I'm well excited! Hope you enjoy :)
Vulfpeck is my new favourite band. After Toronto indie band Yuka though, do yourself a service and check them out, they're awesome like these guys.
Dermot O'Halloran That sounds like a plan!
Dermot O'Halloran Checked 'em out, was definitely worth it.
Bryce Pratt Jason Adams Aren't they? Lol I know some of them
Dermot O'Halloran oh yea thank you for that

moodhafilol I live for 1612 and feel like someone stole the rest of Vulfpeck w/Antwaun from the world
My best friend/drummer died before we ever got to jam to some vulfpeck. He would’ve appreciated them so much. They are a sign that the funk never dies
DAT BASS ON SKY MALL THO
Slapadee as fuck
funkymonk816 hes got major talent
The synergy between that bass player and the key player is just insane
Which kind of bass is that one?

One of the few interesting things listened in these years.
Thanks for bringing Vince Guaraldi back to life your instrumental piece there :)

Génial!! from France
ouh yeaaah !
JB Craipeau Hou yeah !
C'est super de voir que je suis pas le seul en France à connaître Vulf !
m0m0du93 Sisi la famille.

The transition from first place was really cool. I like how it sounds like they could jam for straight hours.
god bless you, vulfpeck
Vulfpeck gives me a groovegasm
großartig.
Your sound is like every I like in my groove put together. Fugue state is definitely my favorite song on te album.
Thank you YourMovieSucksDOTorg for introducing me to Vulfpeck and Elevator Music
I hink we love vulfpeck so much beacause we can feel the joy theyre playing with and we get the impression that we are taking part in the chemistry
Guess how it feels listening to this for the first time today, 30th of april 2020? Yeah
Vulfpeck... excellent band!... tremendously funk!... damn funky!...

I love the Fugue State very much, this is master piece.
first place is definitly my favorite song of all time
this is my favorite album in years, and unfortunately for me, it isn't even close
Sky Mall is fucking insane. That's some Wooten level shit right there.
That is also very sped up.
they sped the track up? so they're not actually playing this as fast?
No
No kidding..

Dig the Beastly reference in the last track, but I was expecting it to get funkier with a 4th installment...
It's criminal that this has 542K views. When true, born-to-be great Musical geniuses like Beyonce and Taylor Swift have billions.

The new Steely Dan!!! Awesome!

Nah, they're the first Vulfpeck. Deadly FUNKY!!!! Love them. But that's quite a compliment. Check out Dirty Loops, too, if you like VP.

I love it, a step up from My First Car.
Always wanted to hear Dart do slap bass. Not disappointed when he finally did!
I heard they just hit the #1 spot on the top 10 elevator music in the U.S.
Oh, that's why all those people are still bobbing their heads when leaving the office building opposite my appartment!
one of the best songs ever
