    This song is an 80's cinematic ICON that will forever stand the test of time. It's so iconic even if you never saw The Breakfast Club you still heard it and hearing it today will take you back to a memory you hold dear at a certain time in your life. The song itself practically sold the film and it is associated with up and coming film actors/actresses who went on to become household names and it is considered the Godfather song of the teenage coming of age film genre.

    Americans will recognise this song from the American Cult Movie classic " The Breakfast Club " . Simple Minds played this song at LIVE AID 1985 at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia . SM had lots of big hits here in the UK . I'm proud to say they come from my neck of the woods from Glasgow in Scotland .

    • @jimreid4367
      @jimreid4367 2 года назад

      @Magicman82 , I too was at college in the early 80's and was more into American Rock bands lol , it wasn't until later in life i started to appreciate bands from my own city . And it's staggering the vast amount of bands that come from this region . Your taste in music is great , we also back in the day had Wet Wet Wet , Del Amitri , Gun , Hipsway , Altered Images , Travis , Lloyd Cole & the Commotions , Texas and Primal Scream , Lead singer from Dire Straits Mark Knopfler is from Glasgow as are 2 members of AC/DC and many more . Not so many modern bands these days we still have Franz Ferdinand , Garbage , Frightened Rabbit , Chvrches , The Fratellis . Biffy Clyro , Snow Patrol & The Romains . I actually know the members of The Ronains they are good friends of mine . We have lots of solo artists Lulu , Lewis Capaldi , Paulo Nutini , Gerry Cinnamon , Midge Ure , Calvin Harris , Amy MacDonald & Sheena Easton .

    This song was -- and will always be -- everywhere. It was the heart and soul of the movie The Breakfast Club which you should check out. The lead singer here was married to Chrissy Hynde of The Pretenders. She divorced him because he thought he was a rock star 24-7 and neglected her. That said, this is one of those all-time songs.

The band has their own Facebook page, and lead singer Jim Kerr (pronounced "care") posts there frequently under his initials, "JK". He often tells a lot of stories, either about an experience while on the road, or about how one of the band's songs was written and/or recorded.

    Jayy, isn't it amazing how many different voices are so unique, but music is still a universal connector? I have lost 60percent of my hearing, but I still thank God every day for the 40 percent that I can still hear music. It is the food of my soul and connection to the people in the world around me. Music is truly one of God's greatest gifts to man. Hope I don't offend anyone with this comment, but it is how I feel and why I love watching reaction videos. In this turbulent time in our country, it gives me hope that music can still unite us in our shared humanity. OK...off my soapbox. Great reaction as always. Blessings to you.
