Totally with you on the baby tip. After we had our son there's no more working into the night, no more work on weekends. We must delegate, automate or simpy say 'no' to some work.
For neurodivergent folks with executive function and working memory challenges, and even those with chonic illnesses, routines and doing things as soon as you think of them are not that simple or effective at all. @@bvan.harringtonyeah, your whole item at 6:55 sounds like a mystical fairy tale to me. There is nothing automatic about the “routine” tasks I do. I have to deliberately remember and motivate myself to do everything every time. Being you sounds amazing.

The best thing I ever did was automate my bills. I get paid biweekly so every bill is cut in half and gets paid right after I do. Saves interest, and I'm nearly always running a small credit on my bills. Also pay my mortgage biweekly too. Saves sooo much time. Also agree with the cleaner service. Once a month to deep clean is amazing.
I had a cleaner but got rid of it. I live in a 800 sq foot apartment and was paying them $150 for 3 hours of work. I got cleaning equipment at Home Depot for $30 and can clean my entire apartment better than them in an hour. Easily cost saver.
6:57 everything in a routine, push start. "routines are really great because once you press Start each task runs automatically until it's complete without procrastinating between task transitioning between each task being anxious and overwhelmed between each task none of that you just start, run, complete" 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Ok maybe it was the example used at 6:08 BUT if your solution to a recurring question is to use the same conclusion w/o thinking about it again, then wouldn't you figuratively and literally stay in the same place with no actual growth? So why not have a flowchart of how you make decisions and go through THAT flowchart every so often to see if one of the circumstances change OR you come up with a new idea? I'm just sayin'. To do anything else is to simply become stagnant.
I teach productivity, so I'm happy to say that I already do all of those...except one. We found in my family that meal prep wasn't ideal (we tried both monthly and weekly. We tried frozen, refrigerated, ingredient prep, and whole meal prep. We really did try it all.) What we found DOES work is that I have a binder full of big, easy to follow, color printed recipes. Each week, everyone in the house picks a meal out. I put in a grocery order based on those meals and have it delivered (biggest time savings right there). Then, based on everyone's schedules that week, everyone knows what night they have to cook their meal. Granted, my house is now full of teens. But we started this when my youngest was in kindergarten; I just helped him cook his meals back then. We always cook for three more people than will be eating that night. Those three meals get put into containers for the next day's lunches. Food doesn't sit around not being eaten for a long time; there's no decision making past that first "Oh, I feel like making spaghetti this week" (which gets spread out across the whole household). And it's not too much pressure on any one person in the house. Plus, everyone in the house is guaranteed to have at least one meal they like. And they all contribute to the smooth running of the household.
so true after becoming a parent, you realize how premium your time is it may sound like common sense but before becoming a parent i was much more care free with my time and never felt that type of pressure to get stuff done at all times
Yep I totally felt that. There was so much time. And now I have to squeeze in a 15 minute workout and laundry and unload the dishwasher during her 1st nap
I so relate. I do most of these already. I have two places to brain dump, I call them my idea book and my thought catcher. The idea book catches all the crazy and awesome ideas that fly into my head so I can focus on what's urgent. The thought catcher is just a piece of used printer paper that lives under my keyboard so I can write down whatever I need to remember later. And yes, I can attest that having a baby forces you to be more intentional with your time! Mine is currently 18 months old and all of my focus tasks have to happen while she is napping.
@@bvan.harrington HAHAHAHA no. What is this sleep you speak of? Seriously though, that's the only problem/concern/issue we're having with this baby. She's an awesome napper, so I have a reliable and predictable 2 hours of productivity during the day, sometimes she'll still take a second nap and I'll get another hour or two! But she doesn't sleep well at night. Here's to running 2 businesses, a RUclips channel and a household in 2-4 hours a day while sleep deprived! 🙋♀️🥳
Great advice. A lot of people mess their day up before they even leave the house for work. How are you going to get anything done in life if you can't even make your bed 😊 I have said that to a few people because it's true
If I do the little 5 min task right away I forget what I wanted to do or I get stuck in doing all the little things ... so there is no time or energie for the big ones xD

Wow! What a helpful habit list. I've seen so many "Helpful Daily Habits" videos but I think your video is the best. Especially the digital declutter. I don't think enought people talk about how much that can help. Thanks!
Oh that's true. I don't see a lot of people mentioning that either. When it gets to the point where I can't find anything on my PC and spend hours looking for documents for taxes... you know it's unorganized
Wonderful video and great ideas. Excellent and concise recommendations for simplifying basic personal habits as well as digital habits. I'm a big "systems" person, so any advise on getting information and data organized is valuable. Wow, I think I have to spend the weekend purging my clothes closet!
Habit 8 can be a trap depending on how you implement it. It requires on the fly prioritization and evaluation of how long the small task will take. It’s also easy to use it as a means of procrastinating whatever higher priority task you’re avoiding. For example, if you have a paper due the next morning but the stove top is looking a little greasy and it would only take 5 minutes to clean. For myself, I try to ask myself honestly “am I using this to distract myself from something more important?” And if I am, it goes into my notepad that I will check at a predetermined time later. Even if it would only take me 2 minutes to do. I’d rather schedule out an hour later to do all of the small tasks at the same time.
I just subscribed to support you, you’re awesome and appreciate that you just say it and encourage us! The baby tip is funny, I did get a puppy a year ago. Yes, I’m more productive. 😂
Damn I didn't know I needed this video until I watched it. Thank you❤ The baby tip LOL its really true. My daughters went off to college, and I swear my husband and I became so discombobulated. When they were home, we ran a very organized life. Because we were balancing school, sports work etc. Then when they left. We just were lost with so much time that we fumbled a lot of tasks, events, and important appointments. Im gonna watch again with him. Maybe we can get back on track. ❤
Haha I can't even imagine my daughter going off to college, maybe someday. Before I had Ally, my husband and I had too much time where we would self-sabotage because we overthought everything and were too strategic, but now we're mostly action then reflection then action again. I wish you the best!
Just a thought about thoughts to action, for example - when we are hungry, we get automatically motivated to get food, drinks etc, can we use this same motivation to get things done?
If wearing the same things or capsule wardrobe feels limiting & boring (for me at least), try to create a uniform look, for me when I am able to find a well-fitted & comfy pant, I purchase multiples and pair it with different tops, even my tops are the same top with different colors lol, or similar design in multiple colors.
Hmmm I do most of this already. No idea how much time I'm saving though I guess 😂😂😂. The Houston comment is good though. I'm not sure how many people do this but for many important life decisions I have to make I have create a general framework. Could be about investing, types of chores I hate, what is worth my time and so on. For those repeated decisions, I know my general preference and impact on stress so I don't bounce back and forth. Instead I just make my standard decision. It's great because it saves, time, and stress along with just being consistent.
thanks for the video, I enjoyed it! The one I'll push back on is the delegating part. When I'm doing these tasks, I'm not forgoing earning income to do them, so unless you're going to replace that or another task with increasing your take home income, I feel like this is a fallacy
Very powerful and energetic video! I’ve already unsubscribed from some of my promotions emails ❤ wardrobe is next! Could you please advise how to archive any big goal or dream? for example I always wanted to start RUclips channel/play the guitar but it’s unknown way for me so I don’t make a decision and continue dreaming 😢
Thanks! I'm glad this video helped! For big dreams or goals, I like to use the principles from Atomic Habits. I'll be making a video on this some time next month actually. But I'll break down the big goal into small steps. For me, making RUclips videos starts with sitting down at my PC and opening up Notion. In the next video, I'll be talking about RUclips and have a free Notion template in it too. For guitar, I would break down that habit into sitting down and grabbing the guitar to play for a minute. Over time, that small task will become bigger like take a lesson or learn a song. But starting small makes you more consistent with it. It also helps to ask yourself "what would a guitarist do?" or "what would a youtuber do? what do youtubers do on a daily basis?" and do those tasks.
@@olialaoo I keep wanting to play guitar as well, but I already have a handful of priorities right now so I can't fit guitar. So my decision for it is no until I can move aside one of my current priorities
Can you provide any links to the Thought to Action Framework? I checked out SuperFrameworks and couldn't find it. Also, I sort of went down a rabbit hole looking at different frameworks. LOL Any links or additiional info would be great! Thanks!
I usually give this advice jokingly when someone asks me about productivity. I say, get married and have kids, so that you will have soo less time than you will only focus on important stuff and try to get it done anyhow.
You look suspiciously like Switch and Click! I've been massively decluttering my home. One step a time and writing down quick notes on my phone any time I have a thought because I know I'll forget about it. I do the same too for the grcoery trip because I've just started cooking after moving out and I swear I always forget like one thing.
I got something better than a cleaner: A cleaning robot that vacuums and mops … EVERY SINGLE DAY. Best purchase in a long time. I have a dog that's losing so much hair that I could vacuum every day and still the next day there is balls of fur already. Now I go for a walk and when we come back, it's cleaner than before. I almost cried when I saw how good this thing works and I realised how much time it's going to save me!
@@bvan.harrington oh no, what happened? Was it too much hair? Or did they actively conspire and kick it down the stairs? 😅 I have a "Dreamy L10s Pro Ultra Head" … it cleans the mops in the station, so I only remove hair from the wheels once a week and check for water levels every few days. Some robots have special brushes that cut long hair to keep it from entangling but so far that didn't seem necessary.
@@bvan.harrington yes, a friend had an early Roomba, too … I didn't like it. it kept bumping into everything, moved lamps, and then it called for help to empty it's tiny dust container. mine is much better, I absolutely trust the collision avoidance and leave it running when I'm not home without a worry. it will handle itself for days without any intervention
Please, our family have their own professions, yet I, my parents and siblings all play musical instruments. As much as I love music, I could hardly concentrate on your lessons, as the music background distracted me. Please, if you don’t mind, maybe next time you could eliminate the music at your next vlog? If wearing the same things or capsule wardrobe feels limiting & boring (for me at least), try to create a uniform look, for me when I am able to find a well-fitted & comfy pant, I purchase multiples and pair it with different tops, even my tops are the same top with different colors lol, or similar design in multiple colors.
Thanks for the tips!
Great video! Love your vibe and I subscribed for more!😊
Yay! Thank you so much!
Great video, Love automation, thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Grazie Signora, watching this video really sparked my interest. Ciao from Italy

Thank you! You too!
these are all such solid tips!!! thanks for sharing!
Of course!!
Appreciate your tips and advice. Thankyou
My pleasure!
Great tips….thanks. Some nice nuggets here.
Glad it was helpful!
Congrats on your new arrival!
Thank you so much 😀
Hmmm I do most of this already.
That’s so awesome! I do similar things, but I still need to keep on building my database of standard decisions.
Helpful!! Thank you!
thanks for the video, I enjoyed it! The one I'll push back on is the delegating part. When I'm doing these tasks, I'm not forgoing earning income to do them, so unless you're going to replace that or another task with increasing your take home income, I feel like this is a fallacy
Fair point. It definitely depends on what you do with your free time.
Congrats for the channel, and for the baby 😉
Thank you! 😃
Wow! That was a pretty helpful and structured video :')
I will definetely use some tips, thank you for sharing!
Glad it was helpful! What was your favorite tip?
@@bvan.harrington oh, i feel like #8 and #14 are the ones that i liked more and will try to apply them in my nearest future :')
Awesome! I hope you the best
🤩 cool idea, and it would be easier for me to focus on goal itself rather than on my uncertainty. Thanks, Betty :) Waiting for your next videos

Maybe a bit too radical ah ah. But yeah, it helps to enforce more structure and a parsimonious schedule.
The one about clothes doesn’t work in Africa. We dress different almost every day and very colorful too.
Great video. Solid advice.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this! #6 has changed my life
thanks Jake! You helped make the video :)
I have a tip for you. Please cut off the music, it was torturous to have in the background.
No problem I remove my hearing aid lol
Not really
And WHY the epic fantasy battle music? It doesn’t even match the content
Great speech salute to u
Very practical tips.. 👌🏼✨ thanx.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thnaks, A LOT, for the video.
You're welcome!
I think she has a twin. Lol
I like the SOP thing. Where do you saved your domestic SOP's?
We keep almost everything in Notion
Great content, I love it! But the music in this video is so distracting 😅😅😅
Really great list! ❤
Thank you! 😄
Did you edit this yourself or do you have an editor? :o
I edited this one myself, we played with an editor for a bit, but going back to doing it ourselves
Work on your background lighting to intensify your message delivery.
I have unsubscribed (roll out) almost as a job at some point. And yet, it all came back
Would you please put the proper words for your chapters next time? Habit one, habit two ,doesn’t cut it.
Besides that, great video
Noted!
Great advice!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks!
very nicely explained keep it up
Thank you, I will
thanks for sharing.
My pleasure
Thank youma’am
If you need to microwave your Pop tarts to save time, you might want to loosen up your schedule - Brian Regan
Who microwaves their pop tarts? That's crazy
my big time saver - delegate all household tasks to my partner.
lol if only I could do this
Would love some tips for meal prep!
Definitely! My husband actually is making a video on it soon :)
Good video, but picture text is misleading. This is not automation.
Really informative video
Thanks so much!
Make a planning the day before is just shifting time spent planning by a day.
Dang I need one of those. We have a dog and two cats, and they broke the robot vacuum. If yours doesn’t break, I need one of those badly
What model do you have?
@@bvan.harrington oh no, what happened? Was it too much hair? Or did they actively conspire and kick it down the stairs? 😅
I have a "Dreamy L10s Pro Ultra Head" … it cleans the mops in the station, so I only remove hair from the wheels once a week and check for water levels every few days.
Some robots have special brushes that cut long hair to keep it from entangling but so far that didn't seem necessary.
Wow haha. I had a Roomba something something, it didn’t mop though. It needed me to cut hair off it every 2-3 days.
Thank You.
Where do you put your ideas in your app or computer
In a Notion brain dump database
Thank u , very helpful 100z%
You’re welcome!
mmmm what happened with the mechanical keyboards videos?
Hiatus
Let me save you 10.51. Go straight to the last 3 tips 😅
Interesting. But the music is too loud and too invasive, horrible so therefore unfortunately I cannot concentrate on what you say.
The baby tip is real lol just had a baby and the time management is way better lol
Good luck :) it'll all be okay
