I was 19 when I listened that song the first time in 1999. 24 years later, in 2022, someone was playing this song live in a bar at St John’s, NL and it made me go back in the time. This is the kind of music with “soul” that I love!
I saw Carlos at Tampa Stadium 50 years ago! It was my first big concert. My brother took me and my sister. I've seen him a bunch of times since, but that was the concert that turned me into a concert junkie. My brother, sisters and I listened to the good stuff. I was 13. Unbelievable show that one was. They did 4 songs and then broke into No one to depend on. Two drummers with full sets, back up guitar, keyboards, maracas, Congos, bongos unbelievable percussion. Except for the two drummers everyone walked off stage at half the songs time. The drummers dueled us into a frenzy and the lights went out. Everybody ran on stage in the dark grabbed their instruments and with precision busted back into the song! It was as if the audience had an orgasm! We all almost fell over with eyes bulging out. Truly incredible. To all of you concert goers out there I wish a moment like that upon you. Nobody screamed yelled or anything. Too mesmerized to do diddly!! Thank You Carlos! For all these years of great memories!

This song has a deep meaning for me. I was driving to see my mom who had been taken to the hospital, this song was playing when I got the call that my mom had passed away before I could make it to say my good byes. I play this every July 19th, @ 10:18am to remind me of how precious life is.....

My mom and dad would play Santana for my brother and I when we were just little babies. My mom and dad played Carlos all through our upbringing. When we were older, mom and dad brought us to see Santana live. It was amazing. My dad has since passed and I can't listen to a Santana song without shedding a tear.💔

I am 59 now and these lyrics are still some of the best ever written. The intense inner conflict Everlast portrays about a good man struggling with good and evil is brilliant and so deeply personal. Santana is a beast, Everlast is underrated and underappreciated so many great songs I always Jump Around from song to song always interesting stuff to discover. Dude helped paved the way for some unlikely areas of music.

Carlos Santana playing more in the middle of the fretboard is his best playing. IMO. His soaring up high is less so, even with his obvious mastery level.
This song just puts you in mood right off the top. Everlast's voice and of course the near death experience he sings about is powerful. Carlos' tone and phrasing is dripping with passion. We have total respect for Santana and all the band has meant to millions of people around the world. And musicians like ourselves have been inspired to pursue music on our terms and use the influences like these songs to create our unique fusion of rock and Latin music! Love to all around the world.
Been a Santana fan since Woodstock. May not be the best guitar player of all time but is the most magical. He knows how to bring the best together and make the best music.
I didn't hear of Santana until Woodstock. I'd never heard Richie Havens. Crosby, Stills and Nash said "this is our 1st live gig and we're scared shitless." So they were experienced musicians. The Byrds, the Hollies I don't know about Stills. But he wrote the 1st big hit For What Its Worth. I think Mountain played Woodstock. I love Santana' s guitar style.

I was laying in a hospital bed last month recovering from a severe heart attack. I was on you tube and this tune randomly came up. I became transfixed on it. I've always loved it and even covered it in bands. I researched a little and found out that Everlast wrote it in a hospital bed recovering from a heart attack. Ironic. I felt the same monster.

This song helped me overcome many dark times in my 20 years of drug addiction which I've now overcome. It also helped me when my ex-fiancee and I of 10 years broke up in 2002. Its a great song for those dark parts of your life when all seems lost.
Congrats on your continued sobriety and don't worry about breaking up with your ex. You will find someone new. A beautiful song and one of my personal favorite songs from this CD.
In November 2015 my mom was on life support. I took time off work and spent 18 hours every single day by her bedside until her fight with cancer came to an end. Carlos Santana was her absolute favorite artist and I played this song every single day when I drove to the hospital. I felt there was the grim reaper (monster) under her bed that was trying to take her but an angel was with her telling her it was okay to let go. I just watched this video and broke down crying thinking of her but I know she fought a good fight and is now in a better place. R.I.P. mom, we'll be together again one day in heaven.

One of the best collaborations with the "master" Carlos and the upcoming new generations of musicians and Everlast which in this song created such a great tune, and his collaborations with Rob Thomas and Michelle Branch and others are so cool. Carlos is timeless and hope he continues to work with these great young musicians.
This is one of those songs that gets embedded in your head. It never goes away completely, just waits a while until it comes forward in your thinking. Carlos is really humming and I love his facial expressions. This song will be around for a hundred years. Rock on!

I saw Carlos at Tampa Stadium 50 years ago! It was my first big concert. My brother took me and my sister. I've seen him a bunch of times since, but that was the concert that turned me into a concert junkie. My brother, sisters and I listened to the good stuff. I was 13. Unbelievable show that one was. They did 4 songs and then broke into No one to depend on. Two drummers with full sets, back up guitar, keyboards, maracas, Congos, bongos unbelievable percussion. Except for the two drummers everyone walked off stage at half the songs time. The drummers dueled us into a frenzy and the lights went out. Everybody ran on stage in the dark grabbed their instruments and with precision busted back into the song! It was as if the audience had an orgasm! We all almost fell over with eyes bulging out. Truly incredible. To all of you concert goers out there I wish a moment like that upon you. Nobody screamed yelled or anything. Too mesmerized to do diddly!! Thank You Carlos! For all these years of great memories!

My mom and dad would play Santana for my brother and I when we were just little babies. My mom and dad played Carlos all through our upbringing. When we were older, mom and dad brought us to see Santana live. It was amazing. My dad has since passed and I can't listen to a Santana song without shedding a tear.💔

Carlos Santana playing more in the middle of the fretboard is his best playing. IMO. His soaring up high is less so, even with his obvious mastery level.
This song just puts you in mood right off the top. Everlast's voice and of course the near death experience he sings about is powerful. Carlos' tone and phrasing is dripping with passion. We have total respect for Santana and all the band has meant to millions of people around the world. And musicians like ourselves have been inspired to pursue music on our terms and use the influences like these songs to create our unique fusion of rock and Latin music! Love to all around the world.

I didn’t know this; I’ve loved Everlast for decades. He was pretty messed up and then had a heart attack and almost died.
This song helped me overcome many dark times in my 20 years of drug addiction which I've now overcome. It also helped me when my ex-fiancee and I of 10 years broke up in 2002. Its a great song for those dark parts of your life when all seems lost.

In November 2015 my mom was on life support. I took time off work and spent 18 hours every single day by her bedside until her fight with cancer came to an end.
Carlos Santana was her absolute favorite artist and I played this song every single day when I drove to the hospital. I felt there was the grim reaper (monster) under her bed that was trying to take her but an angel was with her telling her it was okay to let go.
I just watched this video and broke down crying thinking of her but I know she fought a good fight and is now in a better place. R.I.P. mom, we'll be together again one day in heaven.

I'm listening to this because of the guitarist. He's pretty groovey. His style puts that twangy-sour taste in my month. Which is nice.
One of the best collaborations with the "master" Carlos and the upcoming new generations of musicians and Everlast which in this song created such a great tune, and his collaborations with Rob Thomas and Michelle Branch and others are so cool. Carlos is timeless and hope he continues to work with these great young musicians.
I've been listening to Santana since 1976 and still he is epic..
This is one of those songs that gets embedded in your head. It never goes away completely, just waits a while until it comes forward in your thinking. Carlos is really humming and I love his facial expressions. This song will be around for a hundred years. Rock on!
