For some reason when I watch these interviews I feel like I can feel the amount of love and respect that they had for the source material. But when I watch the Mayfair Witches interviews I don't get the same feeling.

Oh my God it was so bad. Louis calling himself a gay man when hes not even human. They screwed that character to hell and back . He was nothing like the novel. They changed the time period so drastically and changed him as a person. They made him a con artist, rude with a chip on his shoulder nothing like the sweet torn Louis from the novels. And love story where did you get that Lestat was calculating and controlling he di not know how to love. There was a no love story... talk about simpletons did you guys actually fucking read the books. They took those beautiful books that took intimacy to a new level and put it back down in the gutter where we are today in the shitty fucking world. Gutter rats.... In the fact that they try to keep some of the same and then drastically changing other parts was a disaster. I was so distressed when I saw this and I think it's a load of SHITE that they did it after Anne Rice passed away.. Well I guess they had to because she would not have let it happen if she would have been alive. It's not brave it's appealing to people's lower base instincts.

It was actually really good! You should probably watch it again give it another chance! Also Anne Rice was co-director while she was still alive overseeing everything they did/changed before they even started producing the show. She gave the “Okay” for these changes. She gave the Okay for them to start making the novel into a show. If you watched the behind the scenes on AMC+ it says that multiple times. All they really did that was super drastic was make Louis a black man which would ultimately have to change some aspects of his life AS A BLACK MAN from that time period. He was already creole. The cinematography was really well done and its doesn’t different too far from the books. They made it realistic. The thing about Louis calling himself a gay (He said Queer but we wont stress the details lol) man when he’s not even human…he still sees himself that way like all of a sudden he’s just supposed to easily accept these dramatic changes in his life. That like him just killing his mother right after he turns that’s dumb obviously he would still call himself human just like he can still see her as his mother, and to call himself queer is pretty realistic he had sex with a man and is obviously in love with him, what else do you want him to say??? If you want everything to be like the books. Maybe you should stick to the books. If you want everything to be like the books, maybeeeee dont watch the show. ❤

@@Limabbean excellent point. for some, the elasticity of creativity only stretches so far. imagination is always the sauce that makes the meal or enhances the viewing experience.

You sound like all the racist white characters that Louis ends up killing beautifully in ways that would make Lestat proud. So many racist coded descriptions piled into a shitty paragraph you call an opinion. The show is not for the remedial, the mediocre, and the incoherent unabashed racist like yourself. You and those like you frankly don't deserve it.

HELP THIS IS SO FUNNY WHY ARE YOU PRESSED you when the show doesn’t include the racism, pedophlia, and incest that was in the books: 😪
