Shit, this is a very common problem, I have 3 drives and they are almost full, space for video editors is really valuable.

Definitely! And one that is easy to forget about 😅

@@SUALVI I think it's more important to know how to deal with the files that clog up your computer's hard drive generated by Davinci than with files in general...
Every editor knows that they can't have too little hard drive storage capacity, as this will affect a lot of things... But getting rid of the countless files generated by Davinci already helps a lot!

It would have been more useful if you had demonstrated how you resolved it... We know that Davinci simply fills up the disk, with its cache, proxy and other features...
You could show the folders where these files are stored and delete them since Davinci does not allow for real disk cleaning.

That's true, I didn't want this video to be a tutorial, but more like a casual conversation. Most people would have a good idea of what they need to do to clear up space. But I could make a video that's like "ways to clear up space for DaVinci Resolve to work better" I just wanted this one to be a bit different than the usual format. We'll see how it goes.

@@SUALVI It would be really cool of you, there are some teachings but most of them are a bit confusing and don't explain well why you should do that!
Thank you for your kind reply!

that's kinda weird, not sure about the logic behind this. Is your playback fps faster than the render speed? I've noticed cases where my playback fps is about 2-3x faster than my renders, esp when I'm doing green screen keying work. Will try to render to diff drives and report back if it helps.

Yea, I think it might have to do with the harddrive having less power if it's full. But I'm not entirely sure.

@@SUALVI Technically it has nothing to do with energy and everything to do with how the OS deals with a full disk, the hardware, file system, Processor, Latency, Ventilation, Heating and several other things.

That's what I was referring to when I said power, maybe I should have said "strength"
