    This was entertaining to watch, I think Will has a great forehand drive (especially when he has time to fully set up) and that was a big difference maker in these matches.

    25:46 Did you lose track of the score? After losing the point at 2-5-1 on Chris' serve, it suddenly becomes 2-6-2 on Braydon's serve.
    I love how endearingly humble John is. When interviewed on strategy, he says he wants to keep it simple and get the ball over the net. Fun to see him jump for an overhead and dig out Chris' lob.
    Will's inside out forehand volley is so impressive. Funny when he accurately predicts Chris' lob. Chris does 2 Ernes and resets nicely. Braydon is super solid with his winning volleys.
    Great content! I had been looking forward to this video.

      I agree however - they'd lose the ball unless they knew which camera to cut to as the play was going on. Good (live) camera switching is an art - here they just switched the clips in post-editing. Another art itself nonetheless. I can't imagine how long this final took to stitch together - sooo much footage.

    Love the pod. Question for you as I ponder my paddle and the paddles you are using. I use the CRBN 2x and I notice it's about time to replace it as it doesn't have the spin/power that it did when it was new. Do you think you guys have gravitated to different paddles because they are truly better (comparing new to new) or do you think you could be comparing the new paddle the prior paddle that has many hours of play on it and thus these current paddles feel better than your prior paddles?

    • @PickleballWill
      @PickleballWill 3 месяца назад +1

      A little bit of both, most of the times we compare new to new or new to a previous generation. With that being said most of the times when we compare to older paddles we do consider wear and tear. However, we play with so many paddles that many of our paddles now don't get to that point now. Many of us also have multiples of the same paddle so we can try and keep our comparisons more even. I can't speak for the rest of the squad but I tend to gravitate to something new because I like new things but i would perfectly be content with some of the older paddles I have as long as they aren't void of grit and the core is intact

      Awesome. How many games or tournaments do you really need to get a rating? Someone can have a false sense of their talent based on what they see on RUclips… I can do what Chris does so I’m a 4.7… thoughts?

    • @PickleballStudio
      @PickleballStudio  3 месяца назад +5

      @@jayfloridaPeople who watch Pickleball gameplay videos SEVERELY understate the players they are watching. I say it all the time, but if players filmed themselves, they will realize they don't look near as cool as they think they do lol. You'll notice people watching these videos and saying "These guys are 3.0" never have videos of themselves for other people to watch. ;)
      The best way to get accurately rated is play in PPA/APP tournaments around the country. Once someone has probably 40=60 tournament matches logged, that's when I think their rating is pretty accurate. It might not need to be quite that many, but I wouldn't doubt someones rating at that point if they all came from big tournaments.
      If someones DUPR games are only based off of local ladder leagues and no tournaments outside the state, I usually assume it isn't fully accurate.

    The problem is with the on/off stat. One of many factors not mentioned is the abysmal bench that Luka actually played with before this year. Both Carlisle and Kidd deployed Luka to single handedly carry those weak bench units. When Luka sits there were usually mostly starters plus the sixth man playing. Finally, Ask any coach facing the Mavs in the playoffs about Luka's impact. How would they feel about facing the Mavs if Luka was out for the series vs playing healthy?
