I humbly tell other managers that my success comes from surrounding myself with smart people - it gets a grin. I playfully tell my team directly that their job is to make me look good! Delegation is a very important aspect of working in any organization, a person who knows the art of delegating the right work to a right person and himself focusing on the higher priority area along with motivating the team ends up getting all the work done completely in a very short span.
I loved the video! I think one of the most difficult things to do when delegating is knowing who to assign certain tasks to. You really have to dissect the team member and make sure they are not only CAPABLE but having the skill set to complete the task. Anyone can organize a training manual from A to Z but someone that has the skill set to do so will make the content clear and concise as well as having each section flow the way it needs to.
