Man, I just love your videos. I've learned so much from watching them and following along with them when recreating the missions on my own.
I would love for you to do a mission where you demonstrate the use of the ground radar. I understand the basics but have a tough time actually using the ground radar in real time. Thanks again for taking the time to do these videos!

Wow thanks so much for your kind words Chris. I've been sidetracked lately with BS3 ( Black Shark 3 ) but will soon return to finishing off a couple of Hornet mission builds I have in the works & also a couple of vids I've been wanting to do. Sure I can show ground radar procedure. Also, if you haven't seen already, in my Operation Bobby Cork mission flythrough, if you scrub ahead to 20:00 I show locating a Target in "Sea Mode" which is kinda similar procedure. Thanks for your support Brother 🙏👌😌

Loved this video Gaz! I used to love designing levels back when I played Doom and Quake and I'm interested in getting into mission building in DCS. I have found your videos around this very helpful and informative and will get me on the right track when I start playing around with it. I know these videos take a lot of time to create but it's incredibly helpful for aspiring mission creators.
As always, love that special "Gaz Style" in your videos. Keep them coming! Also looking forward to your next mission!

Once again, you have knocked my socks off with this video. Great job! I watched this out of frustration by not being able to find an existing JTAC mission in the DCS system I could fly to learn JTAC in A-10C II. Found lots of videos on how to use JTAC, but found no existing missions I could fly to actually learn it. So I concluded I needed to learn to build my own mission that included JTAC, so I could learn how to use JTAC. Sounds a little backwards, eh? Two questions. 1) Is there a video/ guidance on how you set up your right screen in the F-18 as shown in this video to include the a/c horizon line while using the FLIR image? 2) Is your mission file available for download and if so, where do I go to get a copy? Thanks for the effort you put into this and the background music was awesome!

Thanks big time Jim! I very much appreciate your kind words & enthusiasm man & no not backwards at all brother, your heading in the right direction mate! Hey I'm not sure exactly what you mean by the Horizon line in FLIR but I can offer you help with other stuff. Ok firstly, 1. This link is the "User Files" in DCS World www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ go there for ALL your downloads. When you get there, type in my name in "User" box & you will find all my missions avail for download. Or if you find a mission of mine in User Files, you can also click on my name for that mission where it says "Uploaded By" & that also will take you to all my missions. Once you download the file, then add the mission to.. C:\Users\your name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions. Mostly are F/A-18C but you can swap out different A/C for them depending if you have that particular map for that mission or if you have the A/C that can launch from Carrier if it is part of the mission. 2. Have a look around here in my Channel & you may find some JTAC stuff that could help you & other mission vids I've done as "Fly Through" guides. 3. I found a recent mission of mine that you could fly in your A-10C II by easily swapping it out in Mission Editor. "Operation Blackout". The only thing you go to worry about is the SU-27 Flanker which would be an unfair match so I recommend before flying, in Mission Editor removing his weapons lol or make his skill level Rookie, mission will still be a fun challenge anyway because of certain tasking. 4. Finally, this JTAC mission is not finished yet as I got sidetracked fooling around with Ka-50 Black Shark 3 but I'll be expanding this one with more tasks for the player to accomplish & I checked the A-10C II & found that you can carry 2000lb Laser guided bombs which I forgot about so bridge bombing for you will be ok. Hope all this helps. Cheers GA 🙂

@@GazAce Thanks for the info on missions and downloads. (The "user box" entry was my missing link on finding stuff, as my filtered searches had not been very succesful.) My question regarding the horizon line is shown in your video at 53:38. Your right DDI in that view shows a horizon line at a ~45 degree angle indicating you are in a left turn. On my display, I get a "clock" looking indication in the lower left corner of the TGP/FLIR dispaly, so I assume there is a DDI switch to eliminate the clock and instead have the horizon line. Thanks for any input/tips as I can't find anything about that in my search in Chucks bible for F-18. (BTW, I am a A-10C II, F-18C, Caucus, Nevada, & Persian Gulf module guy and agree Caucus is my preferred region. I keep going back to A-10 b/c of all the ordinace i can carry and amount of stuff I can blow up in a mission vs F-18. Thanks for taking the time to help me out!

Your welcome Jim, no worries man. It's been a number of years since I flew the Hog but I can say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Velocity Vector & Horizon Line just mimic's what's in your HUD when FLIR is active & also when WPDSG has been selected. I'm not sure what the clock is you see? We talking A-10C II or Hornet?

@@GazAce My question regarding the Horizon Line applies to when I fly the F/A-18C with my right DDI display with FLIR active, weapon selected and WPDSG selected. After some further digging and watching some other guy's videos, I have concluded you must be using a custom DDI configuration, since the display screen nomenclature for your OSB10 is indicating "SETUP 01". On my display OSB10 button shows "GRAY". (I did learn by clicking the DECTR function at OSB11, the "clock-shaped" bank and attitude indicator I referred to earlier, is removed from the display, but I still get no VV or HL like shown on your display.) I have concluded resolving what I have is too far into the minutia to keep digging. Thanks for your help and keep pumping out those great videos!

I stumbled across a video and figured out you are using the ATFLIR (ASQ-228) TGP in this video and I have been using the LITENING II (AAQ-28), and is the reason your DDI looks different than mine. Do you have a preference on which one you use and if so, what are the reasons for using one over the other? Thanks!

It's a hard question to answer because both are awesome. Firstly, I use each Targeting Pod depending on what the mission I'm building dictates. If I'm heavily loading up the AC with varied multiple weapons I will probably use Litening Pod as then I can load it under Station 5 so the weapon distribution can be evenly balanced under each wing for the Player as there's nothing worse than fighting your AC to keep level flight. The ATFLIR however is beautiful because it shows your WP & seems to have a nicer resolution when max zooming in but can only be loaded under your Station 4 in the Hornet, whereas Litening Pod can be loaded to either Stations 4 or 5. I guess I like both just as much as each other but slightly favor the ATFLIR & would always look to add that in my mission first but as I said both are very nice man 🙂
