So relaxing to tear one down, albeit messy. Have torn them down on garage floors, truck beds, engine stands, work benches, even in the frame! Rewarding to see points of failure and/or the way they survive and last! The newer ones run so clean and warm up so fast and stay HOT, that there is little bore wear but watch for cracks!! Feels so good to modify one and feel the improvement, or even just restore to original stock condition. Subscribed and following!! RB
Just Subbed, Im looking at joining the piggybank challenge. I was on the live with Ruben tonight. I have a 69 SuperBee with a 383 im about to rebuild. Good luck on the 400 build.
Giving great ideas for me on my next big block build. It’s nice to watch someone not try to break the bank building something. You wouldn’t happen to be using the oil pan and motor mounts off this build would you?
You don’t have to spend a fortune to have fun! Put your $$$’s where it counts! Be realistic with your expectations and your budget. Sorry, unfortunately I discarded a lot of the pieces I wasn’t planning on using. Some parts are yard art, the intake is currently plugging a hole in the fence where my dog was getting out, the mounts and pan are long gone.
I'd like to get in on this Challenge.... I'm a Machine Shop/Mopar Specific Engine Builder and I'll clobber you guys for Dollar spent Versus Power output... because I've forgotton more ways to make power with a BB Mopars over the past 45 years than you guys will ever know.
I for one, enjoy a nice, forensic tear-down. Good luck on this build! Looking forward to seeing more on the #piggybankhorsepower build as well!

Messy is right! Using the flat oil drip pan helps a lot! Thanks for subscribing!
This reminded me of the time we tore down and rebuilt the Datsun engine.
