Wow....looks amazing! The other good news is my scarp 1 is on the way, expected Friday this week!!! Well excited! Complete with solid mesh for uk conditions and the crossover poles , groundsheet and some extra guy line. Hopefully that will be my go to tent and my cwt companion!
@WalkWithWallace hi Robin. I might have a week off in a few weeks. I never intended to do CWT in one go, so I'm thinking of having a crack from fort william upto shiel bridge or beyond. Possibly starting 23rd October. I've been on knoydart before at that time of year and had bad and good weather. I've seen some blogs regarding the route being pretty hard going between carnoch bridge and the point where you start to ascend up a steep climb to a bealach before heading down to Barrisdale. Also I've seen and read blogs where river crossings around mam unndalain towards glen unndalain and Barrisdale can be pretty hairy after a bit of rain. Wondered if you had any experience of how bad they get there or general advice. Thanks Tom. If you fancy a autumn trip you are very welcome btw
Hey Tom, hope you enjoy your trip mate and get some good weather for it. It would take an age to type it up on my phone but if you watch my video of that section, I document the river crossings and you get a feel for the terrain. Any questions fire them in on the comments section.
Looks brilliant!! I have the original Tarptent Scarp 1 which i really do like but being a 'tent collector' 😁 i could well see myself owning the Ultra at some point. It looks very impressive & being nade of stronger material is never a bad thing especially for Scotland & where i live here in the Lake District just down the road.
TENT ENVY! It's beautiful! I am in love!
Haha, they are good looking tents ⛺️

@WalkWithWallace thanks Robin. Just so happens it's just turned up! Happy days. Any hills this weekend?
Excellent 👌🏻 adult stuff this weekend unfortunately, the living room is getting painted.

Haha, are you in the n+1 rule when it comes to new tents?
@@WalkWithWallace yeah,I'm a collector of tent's as well as other thing's Robin,I'm what you call a hoarder mate 😂
@@andym2869 I’ve got a one in, one out policy. That rule may be broken on this occasion 😃
An excellent purchase. I hope it serves you well.
@@douglasbates389 cheers Douglas.
Nice bit of kit mate. 🤙
@@BurtReynoldstash looking forward to testing it again but with the crossover poles this time.
@@WalkWithWallace I love my original scarp 1. Ticks every box for me in the mountains
@@BurtReynoldstash same here mate, even sussed how not to battle with the centre pole too.
@@WalkWithWallace can’t wait to see it in “it’s natural environment”
Looks great! How much was it? ❤
@@tbrowniscool I got it at a discounted price as it was sent over as a test tent for various YTers to review but it’s $580 with crossover poles.
Where did you get the extra guy lines and tensioners?
From these guys, dead easy to fit with a bowline knot. www.cleats.co.uk/cl605-p1-2mm-dyneema-guy-line-trial-pack.html
Nice one 👍
@@summitwithstevie6934 😎 👍🏻
I think it’s too soon to say whether the sailcloth fabric is more durable than silnylon. It may be, but TT make no claims about that.
Fair point, my thoughts were more durable in bad weather.
Nice
