    Just found you. I’ve been needing to make a new one, the one I have was a gift over 20 years ago. Still in good condition. I’ve enjoyed mine so much I’d like to give them as gifts. Thanks again. 🙏🏽

    I love this! I live on hot packs during that time of the month, but the hot water bottles give off a hot plastic smell that makes me 🤢 this will be a great alternative! No sick hot rubber smell! I actually like the smell of the rice even without the added oils

    How can you heat the pad without a microwave?

  • @shereezeelie8157

    If your sewing the sides the wrong way over make sure you turn it inside out the right way before sewing the two lines for the pockets otherwise trying to turn it inside out is impossible. I just wasted material doing this mistake as a beginner sewer

    Thank you for your video. Would you happen to know, how much rice you used per pocket? Thank you.

      Thank you, probably about 3 cups per pocket as a rough estimate.

    How do these smell after it being microwaved? Does the scent stay the same or smell different when it's warm? Thanks

    • @fredelin2580
      @fredelin2580 3 года назад

      I guess it depends one the rice. My test with the only rice I had (Basmati), well it smelled rice !!! And the fabric was quite moist. So, I would recommend lavender to mask the smell of cooked rice! Very strangely to me, no one sharing this idea ever mentions the rice they use... And it does matter ! I bet brown rice is best. Or even wheat is an option

      I don't see why not! Linen is one of the most durable fabrics ever!

    Do I have to hand wash the fabric? Will it mess the rice up?

    • @BoxwoodAvenue
      @BoxwoodAvenue  5 лет назад +1

      If you need to wash this, I would spot clean it. Water will definitely mess the rice up.

      I would suggest adding some lavender or rosemary to the mix, will help immensely. A few drops of essential oils will help as well :)

    Will the lavender burn?

    • @shaymarie7045
      @shaymarie7045 5 лет назад +1

      I have made these before and found that if you add a small cup of water in the microwave with the pad, it adds moisture to the pad but, not enough to wet the rice and keeps the rice from burning. P.S. the water is in a separate container along side the rice pad.

    • @shaymarie7045

      P.P.S. The lavender will not burn as well.
