I used to be a fashion photographer. I was miserable. Now I work as a therapist in a psychiatric hospital and I feel connection, purpose and gratitude every day.
Thank you 🙏🪷 I learned something important from the past 2 years of practice. I realized I was stressing too much to keep my breath long and relaxed that I didn't give a chance for my body to be itself naturally and let it release the suppressed trauma. I learned the importance of keeping a balance between interoceptive and exteroceptive mindfulness. If we focus too much on our bodies, we can feed the stored trauma with too much attention and make it worse, but if we focus on external things during walking meditation, we can heal easily. On the other hand, if we ignore our internal world, we can never understand and love ourselves. I hope this helps 😄🙏🪷

Great teaching of our beloved Master and the photography in B&W is plenty of meaning, a great piece of contemplation. Le Crépuscule de la grande cloche by Miguel Sánchez is one of my favourites in the app. Bravo Miguel, gran trabajo! Hermosa contribución a la Práctica!
So many lovely thoughts on this. I am happy to be on this journey, learning about a meaningful life and the many facets of compassion. Part of me wants to share this with friends and family but unfortunately the divisions in the world make me feel unsafe to do so. I will hold onto this personally for now and live a compassionate and meaningful life, especially when connecting with others.
Jesus visited me in Spirit when I cried out to God in jail 18 years ago.... 🙏 I read The Entire Bible in Jail 6 months . My foundation in Faith was Set. I gave up my grey empty heart of Stone inside a Red Holy ⛺️ tent I placed it on a Shelf while Jesus was with me in my dream in jail. 7 days later another dream I was filled with Fire from above and it was The Holy Spirit. I then walked by Faith Believing and Giving in my trials and tribulations for 18 years up until now. Believing in God's Righteousness through Jesus faith on The Cross for penalty of Our Sins I meditated day and night and GOD FINALY EXPUNGED MY RECORD IN COURT FULLY. FOREGIVEN BY GOD'S GRACE AND LOVE AND UNDERSTANDINGS AND COMPASSION I AM FREE
But what if the meaning you are here for doesn’t serve you well ? What if that meaning doesn’t allow your spirit to be free? I wished thay was still here to talk to. 😢
Please forgive me dear friend but it seems like you may have family problems. Your comment resonated due to mine . If this is true then to you and all of us I would point you in the direction of the Beginning Anew practice, which you may like to explore . Much love from UK x
Around 1:45 sounds like it addresses your concerns...it's not simply compassion for others, but feeling it while remaining stable and feeling free is maybe able to bring meaning to your life. I'm not well right now so please forgive me if I misunderstand you or the teaching, but it reminds me of asides in some other Buddhist video teachings: "because you love yourself," "because you have compassion for yourself," little assumptions in other traditions. If you are struggling so deeply you're confusing expectation or obligation for meaning, I recommend Sister D's Flowers in the Dark. She recorded the exercises for Plum Village App (although the app doesn't list them in book order); I read the book on Libby through my library. The reason it may help is she's offering ways to get in tune with yourself and listen how you need to be kinder to yourself. How can this be your life's meaning if it fills you with dread? Maybe there are other ways to add joy to your life, even if you keep what you're saying must be your life's meaning?
I've seen this monk’s many clips, so there's no drive for me to watch this clip. I insist that he is not a Buddhist monk, although he looks like a Buddhist monk, maybe all his life time efforts to practice were just to become a philosopher or psychological counselor coping with the troublesome difficulties in life. He definitely was not the Zen Master as glorified by many of his followers. Anyone who has afflictions in life should listen to him, because he has a lot of experiences in this area, but to seek the Truth or Liberation, once and for all, he is not a true teacher.
Thay lives inside our souls he is so precious. Energy does not die it transforms he is with us.

This kind of consumption , that we consume many things we do not need, deteriorate us.

help yourself first, when you help yourself you will be able to help others
