    Nice! I’ve been waiting for this one, been eyeing it in the background for a while ha.
    I have the older version with the wave graphics in a 166 too. It sounds like they’ve softened it up a bit, mine is on the stiffer side for sure.
    I agree with the everything about how it floats really well and is easy to turn. It can really build some speed too with weight over the nose. It floated me excellent in waist deep low angle last season. I got it rip it down some wide open faces at full throttle too. It’s awesome and probably my best floater but once the resort gets tracked it really beats me up, especially in heavy snow.
    It’s solid at ripping carves on corduroy as it’s reactive and super light. It’s by far the lightest board I’ve owned. I scored myself and my wife’s (148) for like $180 each on blowout sale lol.
    I’m finding my Retro Ripper 166 is a more versatile resort board that really handles the chop so much better. It’s not quite as floaty nor nimble in tight trees, however still a top tier pow board you can take anywhere effortlessly.
    What I love most about is that is really loves to charge hard no matter the condition or snow type. It’s super fun for railing huge high speed carves too, it’s quite aggressive when you want it to be. I think it might be a better pow stick than the Steely D you had. I also still need to get on a Flagship too.
    Keep the reviews coming!

      Thanks for adding your experience. I should've said something about the weight, it is a light board and that probably affects my experience with it. The sale price is crazy, right?! I like it better than the Steely D for sure. Flagship is a special board, but I might still pick this on a pure pow day.

    Usually a fan of stiffer decks but this one looks fun, thanks for reviewing the niche boards, too!

      I am looking at the Yuup for a powder board but one I can ride a bit on groomers here and there. I love my Sierra so hoping to get the Yup as my second Signal.

    I love this board in tracked out snow and I have the 158 and 166 and I found them to be great carving boards.

      Thanks for sharing your take and for disagreeing! I keep waiting for more people to do that. I'm glad you like it. I'd love to hear what boards you're comparing it to in those conditions.

    Great reviews and cool to find a place to know the powder performance of the snowboards. Have you got any chances to test some Nitro quiver series? They have so many interesting shapes there.

      I’ve been on the Pow, Dinghy, Basher and Cannon. Great boards in general but haven’t been on one enough yet to feel comfortable doing a full review. A lot of them aren’t my size.

    Thanks for the review. Eyeing it for now. Curious, Im your height 210lbs and was considering the 162 for a better all mountain experience. Do you think I should size up?

    • @Drift-Products
      @Drift-Products  7 месяцев назад +2

      If you want it for more all-around riding, the 162 is probably fine. if you want it for big mountains, deep days, and going fast, I'd go bigger.

    I am not an expert rider, but this review is spot on. As this is my second board I wish this review came out sooner but I was pleased with it. I noticed some lack of performance I'm icy conditions. Other than that I love this board.

      I just bought the Tailgunner even if it was a little more expensive for Canada. I wax my boards myself, the white base and the chanels in the tail of the HC 2.0 was bugging me from a tuning perspective.

    Interested in the ‘25 Bataleon surfer. Were you able to demo it?

      I passed on the demo because conditions were absolute garbage for that board. I’m hoping they’ll send me one to try before the year is out.

    Have they stiffened it up? I love mine but find it can get bucked around (mine was 2 years prior to this model)

    • @Drift-Products
      @Drift-Products  8 месяцев назад +1

      I’m going to guess it hasn’t been stiffened at all.
