For the price, they don't seem good enough in 2023. You can get name brand 4k action cameras for less than this. I get the use case is a bit different and perhaps 4k is hard to do wireless etc, but at least it should have 1" sensors instead of basically being a fancy webcam. Heck, I use Sony ZV-1 for my work zoom calls because I couldn't find a webcam that does a good enough job for my tastes.. My ZV-1 came in around $500 as well, and livestreams over USB. Not sure if you could have multiple ones on one pc though. The concept is great, but either it needs better image and sound quality for the price, or a considerably lower price.
the system idea/concept and "ease of use" seem good... but sadly, those sponsored videos don't talk about the rather poor video quality of those webcams ;) or what "preamp" one should use to use the "external" mics since those preamps are not from that very brand ;) ... on the other hand, like I said, the concept and the app and such is a nice ideas but the cameras should be a bit better ... In terms of preamps, I was using the Focusrite Vocaster 2 in these samples and I highly recommend it, great value and quality.
You said it exactly. Ease of use may be the main reason to buy one of these triple camera sets. Most annoying for me is the lack of any kind of optical zoom. This means that you will have to bring these cameras as near as possible to your subject, what may not always be easy. Nearly every smartphone does the job better or at least as good as these cameras, that are at the end of the day "single purpose devices" to record and/or stream (multi camera) footage. Interesting how many bad reviews these get on Amazon, compared to your product placement based, incentivized review. Did you not notice the issues - like difficult setup, which is what I most associate Logitech with (I'm trying to get a gaming keyboard to work with a mini on Ventura, and after a week still no joy), or reports of dead batteries, if one camera crashes, they all go down, requirements for studio lighting to get decent image quality, etc etc. It's true they get a lot of positive reviews as well - but honestly I think you learn more about a product from detailed bad reviews. I've been using these things for before they were Logitech. They really became highly useful when they added in NDI support as I bring them into OBS and stream out of that as I am also bringing in a laptop from the presenter and upcoming events slides on another laptop. I've gone with the ethernet adapters and POE makes powering everything so easy and I don't have to worry about Wi-Fi Except for on the controlling tablets which were cheap and finicky. I haven't toyed around with the multi cam app very much but it's come a long way in 2 years. It would be nice if they allowed controlling multiple cameras in one app. And I would love to see a second revision of these with NDI, 4K sensor and slightly wider lens like the second generation as I think that would be really good for wide shots.
Honestly the quality vs price doesn't make sense to me; you could get a set of GoPros for less money that can record at a higher quality. It's especially stark how bad the cameras look compared to your main one. They lose sharpness, have difficulty with the lighting conditions, and only have mediocre audio quality. Not sure what the market is, here. Maybe for streaming it could work, but I don't know many streamers that are changing cameras often enough for it to be worthwhile...
