We thoroughly enjoyed our month OFF of RUclips. It was a much needed break, to recharge & spend some quality family time. But we're equally excited to be back! Let's take a road trip to Fairbanks, Alaska for a walk down memory lane as this was our first military station in Alaska 18 years ago! Then we're heading over to North Pole, Alaska to visit Santa Clause's house. What a fun wknd with the family, but my favorite part was the road trip itself. We literally watched the change from fall to winter right before our eyes as the scenery went from golden/yellow leaves to snow white roads & mountain tops! Thanks for joining us friends, cheers!

Yeah nice to have the family back. Nice rememberance. I remember going back to where we used to live and where 3 of my 4 kids were born. I was so disappointed of what the farm became so run down and most of the farm land is gone 😔
I watch the Somers family Jessica and Bert from the North Pole, Jessica's mother retired from the Fort about 1 1/2 years ago nice seeing another perspective of the area .

Hello Tina and Joe, Alaska is so beautiful any time of the year. That’s nice how you just see the wildlife any where there. The North Pole what a nice spot and here’s Christmas just a few months away. The two dogs sure have a blast with you guys, I can’t believe how well trained they are. Want fun to see your memories when first married. You both were so young and so handsome and beautiful. Not that you aren’t now, 😂 more mature and you are both aging very well and still very handsome and beautiful. This was a nice trip and the drive was gorgeous. I am not ready for snow here in Colorado but it is coming soon. Won’t last though, thankfully.
I agree with you Tina, it seems everything is so commercialized now. It takes away the old time cozy, warm feeling of Christmas, the feeling that Santa is real for the children. A nice huge fireplace with chairs sitting around with hot cocoa and muffins would have been nice in the Santa’s house. A good thing we can still have that Nostalgia at our own homes. I will be waiting patiently for your next video. Love 💕 you all.

I am so glad you are back. Love the interaction between your family. My dad served in Kodiak Island from WWII. He hunted grizzly and brown bear to supplement army rations. He said from his area he could see Russia. I have always wanted to visit where he was in Alaska. I’m disabled now so not a real possibility. Watching your vlog today of you showing places you visited really was fascinating. Keep up the great filming.

Welcome back glad you enjoyed your time away but you were missed. My husband and I lived in Homer from 1995-2004. Enjoyed our time there I took a cousin to Fairbanks on the train trip from Anchorage to Fairbanks once before we left and really enjoyed it but was the only time I was in Fairbanks. Had relatives that lived in North Pole but never made it up to see them. Husband spent 4 yrs in Southeast in the Coast Guard before I met him. We now live in Missisippi and while I don't miss the cold I do miss Alaska so enjoy watching your videos as well as some of the other channels from Alaska. You rarely catch Joe off guard enough to catch a photo of him relaxed and smiling he has one of the sweetest smiles I just love it when you catch that smile. glad to have you back.

Well, I guess a guy has to admit, sure did miss ya'll. Good to see you take some time to relax and enjoy yourselves. I enjoyed you sharing your time from earlier days. Ya'll were and still are a handsome couple and Lexxi was so cute and she is still cute. Ty for sharing your pics of yester year as it really sheds a light on how far ya'll have come, what you've accomplished and the services you both provided. Enjoyed the pics of Joe and the story of both of you serving our great country in Alaska. I know it's impossible to tell the whole story from the beginning but, you did an excellent job with condensing it and sharing it with us. TY Joe and Tina Watson for being you. Now, onto Parker, Kellen, Bradley and Hunter. Some much fun being had on that trip to the North Pole right? Sheesh, I don't know if either of them could smile any wider. Poor Bradley, he never even indicated he was injured until you showed us his foot. He was playing as if nothing happened until you showed us. Reminded me of the time when OH it's my leg, my good leg, no, I mean my neck, it's my neck. Poor Bradley was sucking up all that attention. Loved it lol.

Tina, thanks for taking us along on your weekend away! It was so much fun to see where you were visiting next! Didn't you have trouble finding a motel where they allowed dogs? When we were making our drive from Michigan to Texas (back in 1981 when we moved) we had our dog with us and you couldn't stay just anywhere. I finally found a motel with a kennel to keep your dog in for the night. Bradley makes a good patient, he lay so still while Joe was dressing his foot.
Santa's house up there reminds me of Bronners Christmas Store in Frankenmuth, Michigan. It's full of ornaments from every country and all kinds of Christmas decor. I love visiting, we've been there many times, last time was 2018 when we RVed up the midwest.. It was so much fun watching the boys, you have done Kellan so much good, it would be cruel to take him away now as his year is nearly up. I hope his family allows him to stay. I loved the Alaska scenery, I've never been there but always wanted to go. My sister has lived in Anchorage for many years but I've never visited her there. Looking forward to your next video, love all of you including Bradley and Gunner!
Hey Christine! We had the same issue when we drove across country to Alaska last year. It was a struggle finding hotels that allowed dogs, but we always ended up finding one for the night. And we just lucked out with the hotel in Fairbanks, and that’s where we wanted to stay so I was glad they allowed pets! Thanks for watching!😊

Welcome back, we are prepping for summer here in Tasmania Australia, hot/ cold, we can have all four seasons in a day all year round , i just stay prepared all the time, our country towns etc are becoming very tourist orientated as well, expensive too. Sadly . I love your vlog, watching your family, its a stark contrast to our Aussie way of life, but in some ways similar , Alaska still has a maritime industry yay. Enjoy your beautiful winter, my favourite season, oh what do they plug their cars into, under bonnet. ? I know they used to have electric blankets p in our highlands, etc, but I’ve never seen 4x4s plugged into power in a car park before. Cool learn something new every day!
Hey friend! The cars are plugged into electrical outlets & there are heating elements on certain parts of the car that it heats: engine block, battery etc.😊Parker was excited when he heard me read your comment because we just learned about the Tasmanian devil in Tasmania last week!
@@HomeFreeAlaska hi thank you, for explaining the heating elements, Yes we have our Tasmanian devils, they are a scavenger , that can bite 8times harder than a dog, fight and bluff their way through a meal , i have seen some babies lately. That have a slight auburn tinge to their tails, first time I’ve ever seen a tassi devil that colour they are just about all black and white ,there was a baby out the back rawwing away, i snuck out the back to find he little devil playing with the totem tennis ball, so cute, they are characters. The quoll are also in tassie, they can open an esky and loot it, they are so small in the grand scheme of things , but prolific enjoy your day its 04;59 here atm .best time of the day, hi to the boys too! They are lovely.

So glad you had a good time off & a great road trip. I was about to take a nap til I saw y'all had a video. I loved every bit of this video. Thanks for sharing. I had a dog once slice his paw pad. Luckily he trusted me. I cleaned it, applied antibiotic ointment, wrapped it, & put a sock on it however many times I needed to a day. It healed really good.
