Thank you so much for this agenda free comparison. You can clearly see the ZF8 losing 3% (34% -> 31%) battery in just 10 minutes real time in the video. That's unacceptable.

I've been using Zenfone 8 for a year. And have to put the performance on extra battery saving or else I can't get through half a day with normal usage. Nice to see Zenfone 9 have good battery life

    •  Год назад +2

Agree. After a long time a phone where I don't have to be conservative with the usage when I know I won't be on a charger anytime soon.

Hi, I'm from Brasil and here we got the 6Gb/128Gb version of zf9. In your opinion, these minus 2Gb could drop down the performance of the phone as the updates are released?

    •  Год назад +5

I don't really think so. I have the 8GB version, but the phone is super fast and never chokes on anything. So minus 2GB won't make that much of a difference.

I bought Zenfone 8, it's not getting updates for long, but Zenfone 9 is far more expensive than what I was looking for. Sadly small phones basically don't exist. Downgrade from old Motorola g7 plus are speakers and I can't get used to slightly different gestures. Sometimes they almost seem to interfere with applications. Also I don't like fingerprint reader, one in the back worked flawlessly and automatically unlocked phone when picking it up. The one in the display seems useable with side of left thumb, but it's not so reliable and it's pain to use it in the night (bright light). Minor issue is accidentally touching bottom left corner while trying to reach other side, cause display is to the edge. And of course battery life, but it's comparable to the old phone. On the other hand it's way faster and pocketable (i refused to go up from 157mm), camera seems way better, screen is better. Motorola is basically better for watching RUclips due to larger screen and awesome speakers for a phone. Also flashlight has like twice the reach and better color rendering on Motorola. It's interesting that twice cheaper and 2 years older model can do many things better, I'm just not saying it's better overall, but no phone is perfect.

Hi, great comparison. Does both phones tend to overheat or is it manageable when doing a workload on tge phone e. g. onlune gaming and 4k video recording.

    •  Год назад

I don't do either of those, so can't really say. So far I had zero overheating issues with either of those. I did not notice of the phone getting hotter in daily usage.

I had a great battery life out of my Zenfone 8, while it worked that is. One day around 2 to 3 months after I got it it just stopped working. The camera was really bad though - I mean in daylight to campture nature pretty much any comtemporary phone is good, but in a room where there's no direct sunlight picture were really bad and video was unusable. The wide angle lens wasn't usable either - it was only a bit wider than the normal, but with much worse quality. However I love the form factor and the headphone jack and I agree that unlocking the phone with a fingerprint button is best. I would buy the 9 right now if I trusted it would continue working and the cameras were better

    •  Год назад +1

Not sure if you get your Zenfone 8 working again, but definitely not worth the swap, unless you *really* need a better battery life.

@@alainm.3378 I did not manage to get a full day of battery life out of Zenfone 8. Either at the end of the day it was very close to dying or I had to charge it mid-day. While with Zenfone 9 I can _easily_ get through half of the next day without restricting myself.

in the Zenfone 8 while using the fingerprint do you have protection on the glass?

    •  Год назад

If you have the glass installed, then fingerprint reader on ZenFone 8 becomes quite a pain. It's possible to use it, but you will need to figure out the Griff and make a lot of pressure to make it work.

By paying a flagship amount, Asus should improve it's display quantity from 8bit to 10/12 bit display with 2k, along with wireless charging or reverse wireless charging support included 😉😎

    •  Год назад +1

The amount I paid for the phone is far behind what one would pay for flagship Samsung / Apple. Personally I'd disagree with the attempts to make the display "better". My previous phone had bigger resolution only for me to increase sizes on things as it was not legible anymore. And by all means my eyesight is not poor. Wireless charging would be appreciated though.

      @loneranger5700 Год назад

@ I'm from India & also a asus 8z user.. Here the price of this mobile(9z) is more high then several mid flagship samsung & iPhone too.. where some Chinese brands provides 12 bit 2k ltpo display, Dolby vision, Dolby Atmos, tuned by Harman kardon support with glass back & wireless/reverse wireless charging support (mi 12pro/mi 12t/iqoo10 pro) along with 200mp tripple or quad, high resolution cams & 108/120watt fast charging as well in much cheaper compair of asus..so how can this deal may price worthy or value for money in international market.. Is that for the only main highlight of Zenfone 9 is compact design & headfone port provided 😉😎

    •  Год назад

@@loneranger5700 Sure. YMMV. This is a personal oppinion. Jack port is a negative from my perspective. Compact size is a must (see the video) and with this phone upgrade I also got a very decent battery life, which was the main reason for me to upgrade (see video). Other aspects of a phone are a non-feature for me. HW wise there was nothing interesting for me on the market for past ~7 years. Those are just black boxes that I use for my daily tasks. Very little has changed for me.

is the zenfone 9 more comfortable to hold?

    •  Год назад +1

I think that's pretty much on par. Zenfone 9 has way "more camera" in the back. But the surface is way less slippery and nicer on touch. But they both live in a bumper anyways, so
