I like how zenfone are the only small compact phones around right now... I've went from Google ecosystem to apple just because of phone size, so I'm using the mini, because a pixel 2XL just hurt my hand so much, that i don't wanna see another big phone for a long time. But the steep price and short lifespan of the zenfone 9 makes me think it just not worth.

We care about extended support, bought Zenfone 5 and only supported for 1 year, 1 YEAR! Never gonna buy Asus again. Also bought Poco F3 ans it starts to irritated me, just recently it received Android 12, after this will only buy Samsung with 4 year of Android uodate and 5 year of security update, all are trash.

Don't do it! Asus make terrible phones. I've got the Zenfone 8, and I hate the phone. I'm going to buy a S10 refurbished, because my phone is just so bad. The screen lock doesn't work, the fingerprint reader doesn't work under a glass screen protector, you can't find any decent cases for the phone either (the supplied one leaves the screen open to getting cracked with a missing lip design to the case) and EVERY update actually makes the phone worse.

Then there are those nice battery features that help to increase your battery life. But only two years of software updates is killing it a little bit. I wanted to switch from my iPhone Xs which i rock since early 2019 to an android again. This could have been a good shot but now i am not so sure anymore. I'm still trying to decide between this and the 13 mini to replace my S10e. Part of me is worried about the longevity of the Zenfone 9 in terms of support, but another part of me is worried about not knowing if I'll enjoy iOS or the battery life on the 13 mini as my daily driver.
I rarely use my phone too much during the day, so I don't think battery life will be an issue...but it's better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it, you know?
I guess, after September, the 13 mini will most likely be cheaper than the Zenfone 9... Maybe it's time I tried something a little different?🤔

Software support is an interesting topic, they might be aiming at 2 years expecting a less the average sales projection for their phones. If plans change, I could see that expanding as well. @@spiddyman0079 I don't need my Tv to be smart, i have PC's connected.
I just need a remote to control my House Tv's and my air-con units etc. is easy and useful when is on your phone since you always have your phone with you and you don't need to be looking under any couch pillows for a remote.

I love reading the comments on all the Zenfone 9 videos because its like I finally found my people. I love this phone. If I didn't just get my pixel 5a last year I'd have this phone for sure. I'm still considering getting this just because the 5a has been a let down in some areas, but I hope Asus keeps up with the smaller form factor, non-screen fingerprint sensor and great battery. I feel that is what the OG pixel was, but has strayed away from chasing Samsung and Apple

Nice phone Dave but what's better is that Casioak in your wrist! Love those watches and I own one myself, it's an intstant classic and the best selling G-Shock to date.

I've been waiting to upgrade to this phone from my S22 and wait for review about battery life, software support & camera quality, but now after watching this video I don't know anymore if it will worth to upgrade to this phone from my S22 which is have better display, better camera and more importantly 4 years OS update, the only downside of S22 is battery life not that great, just decent enough for my moderate usages. Other than that S22 is a great smartphone with compact size.

Snapdragon 870 would have been perfect for it
Would have kept the price lower too

I know right?! Also would be better for thermals and battery life. They should make a zenfone 9 lite with mid range chip.

Agreed, even a 7G1 or a Dimensity 1300/8100 would be perfect!
