I don't remember Asus said 3 years of security updates, they only said at least 2 years of security updates. But yeah, the lackluster update is probably the main drawback for the Zenfone 9, otherwise I would say it's an excellent compact flagship phone. It's so good that I even bought myself one from online retailer despite it's not available for my country.
I also am hearing about the 3 years support for the first time if this is the case it's better than 2 years but can't find any source for this information.

I was looking for it and in that area the screen has a square shape. Little by little the stain has been disappearing, but the way it appeared is very strange.

I've been using big phones for quite long time, now switched to s22 from iphone 13 pro Max. Man, these small phones are really cute and fun to use while sacrificing the battery life to 40% comparing 13 pro Max.
I love my zenfone 9... I think as long as Asus keeps this quality up I am just gonna stick with these. Great phone! I have since getting it, sold my fold 3 even which i thought i'd never do.

I had to get rid of my Zenfone 8 as it was a security and reliability nightmare. Mainly because the in-screen fingerprint reader was awful, and kept unlocking my phone in my pocket. Now that the reader is on the side in the power button, can you confirm that the phone stays locked in your pocket?
Zen 9 comes with a back plate (included) - you should mention that. Also when it was at the pre-order ASUS was giving free Chromebook - I dont see such gesture often. Also there is Devil Case option, that is alternative to the Rhino and stick case provided by the manufacturer. With an application like Snapseed you can adjust and play around with the photos to your liking. The screen is not S+ tier but it easily goes head to head with competition.
Even if the phone was a big size, FHD is plenty enough. I have the Vivo X80 Pro and when I use it on QHD or FHD I don't notice any difference. I think QHD is gimmick on a smartphone

I was going to wait to get this one, but my old phone died and I had to buy a new phone before this one came out. I ended up buying the Pixel 6 that I found heavily discounted. The headphone jack is something I really miss, because these USB-C to 3.5mm adapters are really fragile and also easily lost. Aside from the short guaranteed software updates, I think a major issue with this phone is availability of replacement parts. What will you do when your battery is old and you want to keep this phone for longer (it might be the last flagship with a headphone jack), but you can’t find it. What will you do when you can’t find a replacement USB port, or a screen?
Basically every single reviewer thinks that photos have too much sharpening and sometimes are too saturated. Let's see if Asus is listening and fix it ASAP. That's the main thing preventing me from buying the phone

Thinking of getting this phone as I'm a big fan of the 4k recording on the front camera, the 8Gen chipset comes in handy as I edit videos on my phone as well. Headphone jack is a plus too as I use an external mic with relevant cable for sound. Is the battery life much better if you set the refresh rate to 90hz as opposed to 120?
WARNING: I have the Zenfone 9 and I must warn you before buying: There is a bug, since Zenfone 7 maybe, with the proximity sensors, it is a software issue, not hardware. basically the screen is being turned ON during calls or in the pocket, and from there the random touches can take you everywhere. ASUS has done nothing to fix it and just ignored the countless complaints by customers.
Hey Mark, have you tried installing the GCam on this phone and see how it performs? I reckon the camera would do much better with it than using the stock Camera app.
@@mwcz5190 yeah, I've checked some of those but they don't really have enough tests done. They didnt really do actual night shots, e.g. city lights. And since it's a GCam app, I couldn't find any comparison vs Pixel phones.
I think regardless of the camera quality I would get this if it was slightly cheaper. It's all about algorithm and software processing. I'm sure GCAM can be installed on it and then you have superior camera quality with stellar performance 😎
Can you make comparison between Zenfone 9 and Nothing phone? I'm really struggling which one to buy. Although Zenfone's 2 years updates cycle is little downside, when Nothing phone has three years of Android updates and four years of security patches..
I’ve had mine for a month and so far so good. Like I said in the video, it might wear out the more you use it without a case and that texture/color will wear off.
It's weird to me that you said the camera is disappointing because I have the Zenfone 8 and the photos comes out amazing, the colors are very realistic and the sharpness is perfect
i think what asus should do.. is eliminate bezel as much as they can and give better screen to body ratio.. a 6+ inch screen on same phone size.. similar to galaxy s10 or s20.. i've been using zenfone 8 for almost a year.. screen size is kind of too small for writing on virtual keyboard.. i always make mistakes... i used to type on much smaller screens without problems.. but it seems nowadays android apps developers are tweaking apps for larger screens.

So, the case itself is separate. There's the GRIPMINI and GRIPMAX (link in bio) and you can use it on the phone itself but it will work best with their cases.
Imo S22 in black color looks best, but I bought Zenfone 9, because better battery, CPU (Samsung is giving Exynos in EU in S22 which is just showing middle finger to europeans), charger etc.

Yeah actually Asus made an overall good smartphone that packs a lot of other flagships are offering. The size is very good to hold easily.

From what I heard is that it gets 9 hours sot if you turn on all every battery saving option.
