Every time you compound gears for speed, up or down, you're creating a new tier that lube gears can't transfer to; you need to add them to each tier manually if you want to keep things running without freezing. Cash gears have been confirmed to have an upper limit on turning speed, though the dev has refused to state what that exact limit is. He implied that at the point it stops doing the rapid display is right around that point. There's a bunch of other optimization tips that can lead to getting hundred of thousands of ascension points an hour, but those are part of the fun of discovery.
Another thing I've noticed is that the gear value upgrades are bugged, I was avoiding them because they said they wouldn't increase my income at all, but once you buy them and place a new gear the display updates. Sometimes I can do 2 or 3 of the cash gear upgrades and I'll see like 50 million per second increased, but the display still doesn't show it properly.
@@schmambuman Yup, the display values overall are pretty wonky, that's why it's always a good idea to try placing something and actually seeing the final result. If it works, great, if it isn't an improvement you just sell the gears back and all you lost is a bit of setup time since there isn't a sell penalty.
I don’t think there is a single other channel on RUclips where I have watched every single video they have posted for the past 4 years on a daily basis part of my nightly routine before I go to bed thanks man
You can speed your cogs by somewhere around 14-16 Big Mother gears up into quadrillion rotations, when you reach the limit your cogs appear as stationary but they might still add additional rotations, I usually just move on to just dumping everything around the map into more cogs of any sort which will often net you and additional 1-14m depending on your ascension point upgrades. The silly comes when you get your torque around 1 load but utilizing a single 240 money generator, it varies with your ascension points though so might be making more close to your maximun torque.
You can hold left click on a gear to see how fast it's spinning. The maximum speed is labelled GODZI, after which it starts doing math voodoo while staying in that range. My normal setup is ~96 big momma gears + 2 BFGs to reach 917 GODZI. I personally like using switch gears to set up the upgrade stations, the big gear, and one of the money generators so I can cap out its torque individually, then have only one connected to progress that one as fast as possible. A nice thing about the upgrades is that you can disconnect them after applying the buff and the buff remains active.
Watching DF do this was so inspiring that it encouraged me to quit my elementary education and sit in a dark room my whole life spinning random wheels!!!! OMG Thank you so much DF!!!
Remember my comment from last episode. 1 turn of a big gear will turn small gears more times. Think of a bicycle. As for the massive one. Use big gears in a crescent shape with little gears every other big gear (so they all go the same direction.) That should get things moving.
After playing this game to the point of working in nonillions..... I can confidently say DF has NO idea what he's doing, which is the most entertaining part of this video.
This describes DF in most games, and that's part of why we come to watch him. To see him brute force his way through whatever fine tuning the game intends you to make.
copying this as a top level comment because I posted it as a reply tl;dr: small gear turning a big gear increases torque and decreases speed, big gear turning small gear increases speed and decreases torque. (the torque that the gear can produce, so invert that for the torque required, small -> big : -torque -speed, big -> small +torque +speed ) torque is force times distance, the bigger the distance or force the bigger the torque so you can have a high force over a short distance or a small force over a long distance to produce the same torque. you can imagine gears like a pair of levers, one with a weight at the end and length equal to the torque *, and the other lever pushing on the other gear so it will have a ratio of that 10Nm, so it could be 100N at 10cm. from that you can deduce that the shorter the 2nd lever, the more force (weight) it puts on it. the 2nd part for gears, is that they are basically just wheels, so you can take the ratio of their circumference to get the speed, for example a gear that's twice as big as the one it's meshing with will have a circumference twice as long **, so it will do one turn while the other one does 2. (you could also use the lever analogy there but it's imo simpler to use the wheel analogy) since gears that mesh have to have the same amount of teeth per distance over their circumference, we can count the number of teeth instead of the diameter or the circumference. (as this diameter is taken somewhere in the middle of the teeth, it's very hard to measure, you usually have to calculate it) *e.g. a 10Nm would have a weight that gives 10 Newtons, so ~1kg with a lever that's 1 meter **since the circumference is 2pi*r, the radius and circumference are exchangeable in the ratio because (2pi*rA)/(2pi*rB)=rA/rB also added thing: if you mesh multiple gears in a row, you can ignore all the gears in the middle most of the time (because the ratios cancel out on each side of a gear in between 2 gears.) each gear does add a small amount of inefficiency because of friction and the teeth not meshing perfectly, but in most cases that's negligible.
it saddens me to reveal to you that: Momma gears are the most important thing to do , whatever you are doing , you do it with a moma gear. your total load should be allways 1 ; less and you loose money/s , more and you loose money/s a gear can give you at max 1024 rotations worth of money/s , even if a gear spins faster you still get max 1024 rotations of money

Incredible watching him discover what a gear ratio is via brute force.
I don't even know what "torque" is! That's not something the education system teaches so I am very confused 😂
Just wait until he figures out how to use those planetarys to do waaaaaaaay cheaper reduction
I was thinking the same 🤣

If you have the coffee machines working over time they get better and better and better and add up insanely fast.
I am very fascinated by this. Need an update video quick.
Hi DF. I’m glad to see you play this game again it’s very interesting to watch.
when it said 10% less torque applied it was not meaning your gears but the coffee makers being easier to turn
So there's another 999,999 of me around watching DFs content. Nice
I NEED MORE GEAR VIDEOS
I predict the first words are going to be "Today we are going to do something stupid"
It indeed was not this
Honestly, it was close enough.
11:14 satan took the bottom of ur screen there
Great video! Thanks for playing my game again!😊
This is so much fun watching DF learn about gear ratios LOL
I need to see more of this
This is fun, more of this game please
Gears make the world go round
holding left click on a gear can show you its stats
for example: i have a momma gear with 0.00 torque and 5.85 QA speed
the real gear grinder
IT'S BACK!
It’s actually moving it’s just moving so fast that it completes a full rotation in one frame
when df uploads about this gear game my dopamine levels spike
If you hold LMB on a gear you can see the torque and speed its going :) hope u got a good rest of your day
Fantastic continuation
