Who else wants a fishing DLC. Imagine crabbing in 20 foot waves.
I can totally see that as a DLC.
I would be completely on board with that. Fishing North Atlantic but with the freedom Stormworks provides. And without the quick time mini games. Lol
YEEESSSSSS!!!
I can see a lot of potential in that idea. Multi-player deep sea fishing would be so awesome
Cracking a beer and fishin' with da bois
Makes me wonder if the new game engine will be more stable, hopefully it will allow for us to build larger and more complex vehicles and have more of a game world to explore with actual ports and harbors or marinas and cities and towns!
All this without any physics issues.
It would be really great to see if somehow the new engine manages to use multiple cores of the cpu for the physics rather than the single one, this would affect performance greatly and it won't be a great deal to for us to play around with large creations.
Deltars mentioned a whole new vehicle building game in the announcement video
Teardown physics would be nice.
i'm just hoping multiplayer will be stable
I wish Stormworks had much bigger islands with more difficult terrains and hills and whatnot. So big that you'd spend 20 minutes just to fly from one side to the other. Would be so much fun to have different scenarios to play there. Like evacuation, firewatch and firefight, road(or rail) hauling different cargo or oversize loads, medical emergencies, search and rescue of crashed vehicles or missing person, maybe even animal tracking. Don't get me wrong, sea is cool, but bigger environmental varienty would be great.
Complex vehicles isn't really a thing I think. Even if devs allowed twice as big creations with same performance, there would be always people that would want to build bigger. For me the most painful issue about vehicles is wheel physics. I hate having huge ass airplane drifting around at the airfield because the tyres don't provide enough grip.
My theory is the world is mainly water because they want you to focus on marine vehicles considering I believe the only physics that are completely “stable” are boat and water physics.
The game was originally based on the coast guard, which is why it is primarily a marine vehicle game. I HUGELY agree with you that we need wheel improvements and maybe even more wheel customization.
Wheel physics needs a MAJOR overhaul. Most my larger vehicles seem like they're on ice skates
@@RefrigeratedWaffles2 Water physics being the only thing top notch is for real lol
Ships sinking is the one cool thing about the damage model the game has. And like yea water physics is quite good. Can't say the same about ground or air.
With the new engine things could change...
Imagine a Space Engineers level of vehicle damage for example
Then why put a mission on the other side of the map. By the time you get there by boat, the mission expires.
Imagine the possibilities: 1x2 sloped windows that are airtight, without XML editing...
Would be absolutely amazing
I would even pay another 20 bucks to play on an engine that supports lag- and bug-free multiplayer.
For me this is the greatest game ever created and the only things that dampens the hype are a) the lack of decent multiplayer and b) the poor implementation of s&d
wish we had actually different slot for parachutes and backpacks so we can equip scuba gear with parachute and deploy from plane
I wish they add map editor i seriously want cities with actual roads, i basically purely make race cars and cant drive them anywhere
You can currently do this, with the addons editors I made a racetrack at the Harrison airbase, which I know has since been smoothed out, so I should actually go check to make sure it's not broken, and update it on the workshop if it is broken. But if you want to check it out it's called Harrison motorsports park. I do plan on expanding it and added some cool new stuff!
@@connercurzio3645 still not map editor...
Same, but for different reason as I almost exclusively make railway vehicles (steam engines, diesel electrics, hydraulics, mechanicals and electrics also coaches and I’m starting to make some waggons (3 planks, 5 planks, 7 planks, unfitted and fitted vans, 6 wheel tankers etc) and it’s so annoying that I can’t properly use my loco-hauled trains as I wish I can go from spycakes to cammodo run-around the train and go back but there aren’t any run-round loops so with a map editor I can make a route how ever I want (mainly over land not over sea and it would be a British theme) but for now I have to top’n’tail everything or do push-pull services like my Drummond M7 and maunsell push-pull coaches I could even recreate a railway (swanage) and then be the happiest stormworks player ever (and even happier when steam pistons and valve gear are added) like coke one devs you knew what people were wanting steam for and you gave use turbines yh ok there good for nuclear but unless your making the LMS turbo-motive there not realy useful to us railway fans
@@ciala51 don't forget the lack of single axles
@@sgtdavscuba and fixed axels!
One outfit I wish they would add, would be a safety harness for aircraft loadmasters. (So I don't fall out any more. :) )
Definitely a new game engine would be HUGE.
Devs gotta be careful when changing engines. It can cause more problems than it solves. If done right however, it could be huge. If they do change engines, I'd like to see more possibilities for detailed textures. I know that might break the art style, but I've never been a fan of the current style tbh. And ofc you don't want to make it unplayable to those currently playing.
I'm hoping for a stable multiplayer. Imagine having more persistent multiplayer servers with lots of players on. You can hop on to the server, and just roleplay as whatever you want. Stability also gives the server owners the opportunity to customise the servers with in-game features and infrastructure
I think the graphics could use an update, I love the current style. but it's definitely possible to improve it without making it not look like stormworks
I really do crave for a new game engine. Everything that makes storm works more interesting (like new locations new gameplay system like stormwind or stormlink) tanks the physic engine to a point where you're forced to play vanilla. I REALLY need that new engine. And I'm looking forward to try out storm link storm wind and discovering stuff like a firewatch tower and stuff like that I wasn't able to install without the games physic engine runs at 1fps
Give trailmaker a challenge in the looks department.
stable multiplayer is all I ask for
I REALLY enjoyed GOM cargo
A new game engine? Sounds interesting.
I just want more mission variety, seems like 90% of the game is building with not much to do once you actually have a vehicle.
I hope we get better aerodynamics
Ikr
Stormlink integration perhaps? Would be nice, or a cargo equivalent.
New game engine to port Stormworks with same unrealistic physics "to not break vehicles"? Or just for another game?
Stormworks was on sale at least twice before also...
New equipment could be inventory increase items or even body armour.
Still probably a new game, they don’t care to bad about the breaking vehicles, but that would be a great excuse if you’d try to hide the development of a new stormworks, they might even be at the point we’re they need to test out some stuff with an actual player base, kinda existing
The new engine is actually a great leap! I hope it would not change the game graphics,I actually like current graphics
Ye same... I'd hope it'd allow for better performance at least, and/or better vehicle damage and like, wheel physics. Plane physics is also terribly simplistic... But just give use a Space Engineers style crash model and I'm sold
I'll keep the brakes locked and take a gander later, Gameengines are a foundation and very oftenly things get rather messy when some change it up.
Far too common have i seen games suffer critical failiure from a engine update alone, so i can only hope it goes well.
Missions with a storyline like before 1.0. Please finally.
I think this could be a huge improvement for the game, from possibly new outfits, to addons, and who knows what that will bring, to possible a new game engine. The possibilities that could bring, from a bigger map to better physics, to more features. I'm excited for what this could bring, but hopefully the devs don't get our hopes up for something anticlimactic.
I've mostly stopped playing Stormworks because of the physics bugs like phantom floatation from moving parts, control surfaces on subgrids not working, etc. A chance at having more consistent and immersive physics is pretty exciting!
During the last developer Q&A, they said they are making a new physics engine but that it will be used for an entirely new game. If I'm not mistaken, they explicitly said that Stormworks will not be getting the new physics engine because it would be too much work and they want to move on from Stormworks.
They need to fix missions to a place similar to pre 1.0. The latest underwater patch has done a fair bit to improve upon them but its meant to be a build and rescue game. Multiplayer still needs major improvements.
if there's going to be a new engine it's only going to be the updated one from carrier command 2 to makesure they can use the same "bug fixes" for both.
Of course my PC would crap out right before the good Steam sales hit
It is possible to buy it without installing it. It will just go into the library and then when you fix the pc, install it.
@@Bendigo1 That's true. I'll just have to delay gratification a bit
@@seekay9815 A good way to succeed in life...
Maybe one of the outfits could be something between the scuba and diving? Like having more oxygen but still being able to see the same
Edit: Apparently they are talking about *another game* they want to make...
In the last Q&A, they have answered a lot of questions with "Yeah, not possible in the current engine". I seriously hope that these efforts go into making these changes possible (plus whatever idea made the devs finally push this update). Looking at you, #CoOpWorkbench aka most voted for feature request (of not yet implemented)
The added equipment might be something like body armor or maybe a headlamp, a headlamp would be so useful. Hate wondering around a creation looking for a switch in the dark.
NEW ENGINE, LETS GO
Maybe the new outfit could be body armor. Just an idea.
exciting
I also hope we will be able to make our own handheld tools ( something like microcontrollers )
wow!
wow I always wanted to buy the dlc I've been saving up for it and i van finally buy it
The only thing i can think of for new outfits is bullet proof vests, also Deltars mentioned a new vehicle building game in the announcement video
Body Armour comes to mind
Damn it, i just bought the game and the dlc, maybe i should have waited a bit.
For the outfits, maybe kevlar armour for the weapons dlc?
This could mean co-op building with the new engine.
I wish, if we get a new engine, that it finally allows gliding. As we all know if you don't permanently power a plane it just falls like a brick and I hope that changes.
immersion suit or life jacket? they kinda needed... or maybe a diving suit (witheout the mask and the o2 canister, just because it's weird to swim with artic clothes...
Show us how to add leading to turrets
I honestly want less lag and for backpacks I hope we can carry more stuff in our inventory.
still miss the feature to teleport vehicles where you want on the map rightclicking : spawn vehicle here :D
would be less time consumpting instead of placing them in the editor.
What gaming setup do you use to spawn the bug creations in?
I’m hoping for life jackets
I wonder what the new game engine will bring.
better graphics or performance in multiplayer or with big creations maybe
@@j4ffacake865 I'm hoping better physics and new features
A lot of new bugs that will take years to fix...😁
It’s not mentioned that it’s for stormworks 1, when you start over with a new engine it’s probably just easier to just keep the concept and ideas and build a new game, aka Stormworks 2, bringing all the big ticket items we have wanted in v1 and solving many limitations in the engine as well as things like max water pressure, and maybe even RTX, DLSS and slightly upgraded graphics
Can you do a proper mission/add-on editor tutorial. I have not made my own missions since pre 1.0.
Are you gonna have videos on the new ship ?
I'd be willing to buy stormworks again in a heartbeat if they release version 2.0 with their new engine.
I hope the new game engine will not cause lags and wipe the player data
Are you planning on making a new challenge sometime?
Each time I boot up stormworks it gets stuck on the Storwork title screen but the background Is black and only the music plays. Could someone tell me why this is happening and how can I fix it. Because at one point the game worked but not anymore. Thanks
Procedurally generated maps, or something similar
Geometa casually ports stormworks to UE5, probably not
I wouldn’t be surprised if the new engine is for a stormworks 2, or something similar, we’re they use the current game as a test ground, would explain a lot of the “can’t be done in the current engine”, large focus on bug fixes as well as the sale, and at this point I can’t blame them, Stormworks is amazing but it almost feels as if it’s a quite basic game with a cool idea, that then blew up and just grew.
Better damage.
I would love playable multiplayer
Would them changing the game engine potential lower the computer requirements so it could run on my potato?
Honestly probably not, but I think it would allow the game to run better on the current hardware, with more complex vehicles, more vehicles and maybe more advanced features
What's the ship in the thumbnail?
Stormworks runs faster with each update.... Windows update takes it 4 steps back....
Legend
i need tutorial on gyro when used for boat stabilization :S google can't help me for some reason :S
Im quite sure the new clothing will be some wearable armor or something
If they break my vehicles f in the chat.
What if stormworks had a hunger sistem?
A new game engine is what Stormworks needs. Have stopped playing because of all the problems the current one is causing.
Fix Helicopter Yawing, Or i Would Really Recommend you Making Updated Helicopter Tutorial, It Would get Alot of Views and Would Help Lots of People
How did you learn to build in stormworks? pls
Literally just search for his tutorials, he has plenty :D
You are the owner you are
i just want sounds to have physics
I wanna fly without falling like a brick
Gliding ^^^
There is sound physics?
@Sussy ass motherfucka Ye but it's like, the game's fault. Calculates wedges as if they were blocks
let players make maps
Yea that'd be awesome, these new seeds are always wack. Having the possibility to manually position islands n whatnot would be awesome
I hope that they will not reinvent the wheel for a game engine…
You're in the UK? Have I missed something because I assumed you were South African?
Im starting to doubt a new engine is coming, almost a year later
same
You are the best game developers ever stormworks
Stormworks devs ain't great, the subnatica development team was way better, and literally every other indie game is better than stormworks devs. They don't speak to their community other than Q&A's. The game is good but the devs are not
Dod don't ruined the entire thing stop
@@Saad-ze5vh what?
I WONT TO THANKS THE DEVELOPERS TO MAKE THE GAME BETTER NOW STOP!
@@Saad-ze5vh i don't understand what you sre saying
Cool
1x3 2x3 3x3!!!!11!!!!11!!!!!111!!!!
I hope they will help optimize the game a decent amount. How ever I doubt it since they are lazy.
When you said "here in the UK" it explained why you talk properly, but may I ask, are you natively English? I just detect a scandi' accent
beans
I BOUGHT THE GAME 2 DAYS AGO. NOOOOOOO
Gonk
i just want them to bring this to console so i could play it
it will never happen
A console port would be disastrous.
Stormworks, as much as I love so much about it, desperately needs a better engine. The physics problems are so obvious once you get above 100km/h on water, something that's achieved by fairly basic speedboats in reality. I suspect the current engine has problems calculating wake and the like, especially in larger vessels travelling at those speeds, thus the "slow mo" effect.
I do occasionally fuss around in Stormworks these days, but I've been waiting for news of something like this before getting stuck into it. Nothing worse than spending 3hrs building a turbine powered boat that tests ok, then trying to do a mission and the game engine saying "NO!" after 30 minutes and killing your boat.
I like building stuff in Stormwork, but always hated the game itself. Briefly, you can build amazing stuff, but playing with your toys has mostly 0 value. In 2022, it is ridiculous that the islandsare static. You sometimes have the same island 3 times between each other. That world should be completely random and procedurally generated to give you the feel of exploration. If there is nothing new to explore, why would you do it ...
Pre 1.0 world seeds used to actually affect how your game looked. I miss them, old seed 1 was my fav.
First
I want Xbox support
I can’t play on pc cause I have a work laptop
