You guys need to bring Mr. Bennet back on in the future. Him and the Lipstick Lesbians.
These deep dives on the makeup industry is what I live for. I could listen to you guys swimming in the deep end of the makeup world forever.
Yes, both are great ideas
Them on like a panel..... Wow.
THIS 👆💖👆
📣 BRING HIM BACK!📣
Yes! This!
YES
First of all, I'd like to thank Johnny and Kevin for an amazing afternoon-I had SO MUCH FUN! And I'd like to thank all of you for the extremely kind comments; I truly appreciate them (I'm so used to being dragged for telling the truth, this is very refreshing...lol).
You brought such passion and deep knowledge to the pod, it’s like watching the future evolutions of Johnny come to life.
Thank you so much for your generosity with your time, knowledge and experiences. Please come back and see the boys again soon!
KJB, you will always be an icon in the industry in my eyes. ❤💐
I was riveted by your historical knowledge of the industry. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode! Thank you!!! ❤
Real recognize real. Those that do live for the truth!!
I loved hearing your insights and knowledge from your years of experience in the industry! It was a breath of fresh air to hear truths and facts that many of us do not know or do not hear often on social media about the behind the scenes of the industry.
I have never had the hairs on the back of my neck raise so many times out of sheer awe in a person. And then when Mr. Bennett perfectly delivered "You're beautiful" I just teared up because I'm so proud of you Johnny and Kevin to have such a prestigious guest on your show 😭 this episode was an absolute knockout 🥊🥊🥊
Wish I would’ve seen/read your top-tier comment before posting mine. You nailed it beautifully. From the Lipstick Lesbians to now Mr. Bennett? Just absolute legends in the beauty industry!
Yes! Beautifully said!
I forget which episode it was, but Johnny said that he and Kevin would look alike one day. I think we’re approaching twin criticality in this episode.
You are spot on 😂
Please bring KJB back for more episodes! He brings such wisdom and perspective to the broadcast. We all have so much to learn from him, and I could tell that you guys were learning from him, too.
I second this!! This has been one of my favorite episodes :) I’d love to hear more about the industry from him. Maybe there are other makeup pros you could talk to?? Thank you so much for this awesome episode ❤❤
This interview is everything. The thought process for the daytime shows and continuity is mind-blowing. Fascinating.
My Sunday afternoons used to be so sad, knowing that I have work tomorrow. Beautiful and Bothered always delays the pain!
Agree 100%
I knew KJB was well respected in the industry but I did not know his career history was so amazing.
Influencers and celebrities launching poorly researched makeup should be scared of him. Better yet…employ him to tell them if the products are crap!
🙌🏻 Not me trying to high five Kevin through the screen after finally someone else noticed the Charmed 👏🏻 continuity 👏🏻 issues 👏🏻
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! Y’all are the ONLY podcast that brings on such high-end guests. Chanel in human form!
This is exactly why we support, promote, share & follow the podcast! The BEST of the BEST! The true standard!
I absolutely love how Kevin Bennet actually watches the show and recalled certain episodes!! He was an awesome guest!! And as always I Loved this episode!! It was so insightful and informative!! Thank you Mr. Bennet for spilling some tea for us!! 🫶🏼
The 90s aesthetic is coming back? Thank God. I shall be on trend again....
Right me too!
This episode was everything!!! I did not want it to end. We need KJB back for more lessons and stories!
Me too. I was sad when it ended as I could listen to KJB for at least another 10 hours 😂
Oh yah, my favorite thing about Kevin is how honest and open he is. It's so rare in the beauty space.
I was a baby goth/grunge lover. I am all for the return of the dirty slapped on makeup!
This was one of my favorite episodes yet 🩵
Mind blown: character crying with a strong lip = unsympathetic. YES. Who would have even thought this til he pointed that out?
More from Kevin Bennett please. He is the voice of reason in the crazy makeup world.
It's so awesome having a guest with a long-term view of the beauty industry. I love hearing this behind the scenes view! So nice to hear some veteran experience. Experie-AHNCE!
I love Kevin James Bennett!!! I could listen to him talk for daaayyyysssss! The personal stories, the history, his story, etc. The man behind the true meaning of "No bullshit"!
Really enjoyed his comments on Jaclyn Hill's lipsticks, James Charles' paints, and the role he played in Makeup Geek. Great episode guys!
Much love to you all❤ 💄🔥🏳️🌈
Kevin’s discussion at 27:45 on failure was truly inspiring! I cannot get enough of this episode, literally fascinating.
This episode was RIVETING! I'm sure you don't need to hear me say it, but you knocked it out of the park this weekend!
I feel like I just got the most in-depth and entertaining history lesson on makeup ever! His voice and storytelling captured my attention immediately! I vaguely knew of KJB because of his commentary on influencer makeup brands, but my god he is incredible! His resume, his thought process, and his knowledge of all things in the makeup industry 🤯 Awesome podcast guest! Y’all are killing it with getting him and the lipstick lesbians as guests! 👏👏
Please have Kevin come back! I feel so educated, this is my favorite episode you both have ever filmed. Kevin is amazing! Make up history is fascinating. Erin Parsons and Kevin together would make the most epic duo as makeup historians. 👏👏👏
Kevin hit it right on the nail - people are ABUSING makeup now to make that coin on social media, and I'm so tired of it. To me, makeup is an artistic medium; seeing people abuse it is like watching ads that set pianos on fire - it hurts my heart. Great, great episode!
The other sad part to me about the lack of PPE is that I’m sure it’s not worn for image reasons. As a female scientist who wore PPE for years- it’s a reflection of my skills and talents and I think I look great in it! You can be feminine and gorgeous and still be safe in protective gear ❤😅
The way I ran here as soon as I saw the notification….. Sundays are the best❤
Every Sunday, I have a date with Johnny and Kevin! I make a big, Sunday dinner with my ear buds in as an excuse to ignore my fam and listen to the newest pod haha My hubs and kids constantly ask why I’m laughing so hard. It’s not even 3:30pm here now… wondering how early I can sneak into the kitchen to “start cooking” 🤔 lol
I am your comment! Except I doordash and I listen to them on Sunday evening. Laughing my ass off. Enjoy your Sunday!
“The 90s are coming back “ Im All for it ❤
As a huge soap opera fan, especially As The World Turns in the 80s (I’m in my mid 30s found it on RUclips 😂) this was such a treat!!!!!!!!!!!
Such a core memory for me. Lol.
When I was young, my mom would record the Young & the Restless on VHS while she was at work during the day, then catch up on her soaps on the weekend. I knew all of the characters names & story lines. Lol. Oh, the good ‘ol 80’s & 90’s.
I was watching as the world turns with my mom on November. The 22nd 1963 when they broke in to say that J.F.K had been assassinated. I was five
Hell yeah, As the World Turns was the only one my mom watched. Seeing her run to turn it on and fold laundry is such a core memory
I’ve never looked forward to Sundays until beautiful and bothered❤
One of my fave things about you guys is the level of honesty. I know you don't take lightly the guests that appear on this pod. I must say, Kevin did not disappoint. Love the synergy amongst you three ❤❤❤.
I am on the floor, please send someone to do CPR!!!! I love, love, love, love, love Mr. Kevin James Bennett. He is such a wealth of knowledge, and he definitely keeps it 100! Can we do a power pod with him? I will send good champagne, snacks and whatever he wants.
Best guest ever!
KJB is an icon! Ive always appreciated his direct unapologetic honesty he’s not afraid to call out ANYONE!
Also the man behind developing the most beautiful underrated concealer ever “First aid bendy avocado” he just doesn’t get enough recognition .
This episode is what my wet dreams are made of! 💦💦💦
Thank you so much! I am gunna subscribe to the patreon next month and binge everything!
As a male non/binary makeup artist I feel so seem and validated when I’m watching this podcast. I absolutely adore you two! ❤❤
Yey my Sunday's complete! Suggestion: Can you do a purchase or pass/info sesh on Bobbi Brown's new makeup line (Jones road) specifically made for mature skin? I'm really curious about it and whether it really is as good as it's purported. Wayne Goss reviewed the miracle balm (highlight/bronzer/blush tint) and said it was really nice....so that's intriguing. There are not too many reviews, though, so far because the line is so new. Since you guys are good about reviewing solid products for mature skin, I'm especially curious about your thoughts.
I love getting off of work to listen to yall. I cant belive you got someone so great and knowledgeable about the industry on the pod and i can only imagine future guests on the pod. Love you guys as always ❤
I’m only at the beginning but I’m over the moon that you have Mr. Bennett as a guest!
Such a fascinating discussion of the beauty industry. I’ve noticed that my interest in watching You Tube for new products has declined, but learning this kind of stuff interests me
Didn't they crucify that one girl for saying that the red color stained her eyelids???
She was SHUT DOWN!!!!!
His stans are ridiculous...almost as ridiculous as that basic palette
He came out with brushes similar to paint brushes like people haven't been doing that for DECADES
I’m manifesting more interviews and one of them being with Donni Davy🧘♀️
I second this!!!
What a great interview….much appreciated 👏👏👏😍😍😍
Omg I can't believe you have him on KJB is always pulling back the curtain
Noooooo im almost finished the video, i could watch for 10 more hours! ❤
Love this episode, torn between this and Erin Parsons as my favorite so far as your favorite guest episode! Maybe you should do them again 😅
I loved listening to KJB and all his experience!
Constructive criticism, it might be worth you going back and forth on questions to the guest. I would love to hear more from Kevin... especially on specific products since he has photographic memory on product names, which is AMAZING!
Love you both, and your content is so refreshing in the beauty space. ❤
I sell perfume, and you guys made me feel soooooo confident in a full face of makeup. Thanks girls ❤
Gosh, what an incredible episode. This was an episode where an expert with models and fashion shows could speak to the makeup that complimented collections, WHAT a niche lesson! I don’t think I could get this kind of info anywhere else on the internet. I would LOVE to see a review of a fashion era mixed with that makeup, or a fashion house’s makeup history. Amazing job as always, you two!
What a fantastic episode. Seriously. I love learning from actual makeup artists because at the end of the day, I’m not about following a trend but enhancing who I am. Viseart is a throwback - I have the neutrals and have had it for many years now.
This episode is ELITE!
SUPER LOVE SUPER LIKE!
Thank you for the amazing conversation! ❤
Johnny. Coming from love. 😬 When you are editing back on the vids you and Kevin do, have you ever caught where you cut Kevin off quite a bit? Every point you try to make when you 🍑 in could have waited until he was done. C’mon Diva 🤫💖
Loved this interview and love you both so don’t get it twisted 😂
🏳️🌈🥰
This is an incredible interview with 3 incredible professionals ❤
This was amazing! I didn't want it to end! KJB gave me my first 6 MUF foundation colors when I meet him in the Makeup Show NYC over 13years ago! He's awesome ❤
This is the BEST episode I've seen yet from you! Kevin is the reason I went into the industry, and the reason I stay throughout the turbulent years. I am a stickler for science and facts, and people either love me or hate me for it, lol.
Would love an episode of purchase or pass with Mr Bennett.
What a fun wealth of wisdom and story telling!
Wowwwwwww!! 😃 So Intriguing!! Loved the Open Honesty.. I could listen to this guy for hours more too!! 😍 Please bring him back.. This is a matter that NEEDS to be Heard by the masses who tend to have that social media mindset in place of Reality!! I really Loved this Episode!! Well.. I love every episode but thats besides the point! 😅
I'm not saying Johnny fan gurled all through this but......
I LOVED this episode
It’s a nitrile glove. It’s a mostly non allergenic rubber for people that have latex allergies.
Johnny: Our guest today is Kevin James...
Me: Eh?
Johnny: ... Bennett.
Me: Ooh!
I could've listened for another four hours. Amazing to have, yet again, an incredibly knowledgeable guest like Mr. Bennett share their wisdom.
My first time watching and I'm loving this. And 90s must he coming back because Kate Moss signed up for patent for makeup brand.
I had a very rough weekend emotionally. Thank you for being honest but uplifting and positive. Thank you for a wonderful uplifting community 💛
What a GREAT interview and what a GREAT guest! Loved learning the hidden backstory of Christian Dior via Viseart especially. Love from the UK ❤
This was great! Can't wait for part two... and three, four and five 😁
Thanks for bringing him on❤.
Could him being a semi regular on the pod for like the year be a thing? He has 4 decades of stories I would love to hear!
Church is in people. Today's podcast is paired with aperol spritz (prosecco not lemonade).
I've followed KJB for awhile but have a whole new respect for him now 🫶🏽 also I work in a building with our own manufacturing lab inside and I know no one there is using anything other than the nitrile gloves that he mentioned! And everyone in that lab is fully dressed in scrubs, gloves, hairnets, the whole nine. I'm glad the FDA is finally requiring ingredient lists because other industries (like mine) had to do that years ago - I didn't realize that wasn't a requirement yet! Love to all of you 💖💖💖
I watch all of your podcasts but this is my favorite! Please have Kevin again! So much information! So much education! Anyone who doesn’t want to accept that Kevin has experience we can all learn from, needs to check their ego.
I really enjoyed this Episode- it was so interesting to hear what‘s going on behind closed doors in the Beauty industry 😊 and yes, totally agree, i wanna know that what i am putting on my Face is safe and has been tested.😅 that is something, i can be sure of living in Germany (EU)
Me, laying on my pink sun lounger listening to my favorite boys = perfect Sunday! 🩷
I could of watched a 10 hr version of this episode
This piece of unasked for advise is not criticism. Fizzy wine (champagne is posh fizzy wine) stays cooler and more fizzy in a flutted stemmed glass than in a coupe glass. If you prefer a coupe glass absolutely no judgement here but, as the resident alcohol drinker, I thought I'd share😁
I ordered Hydra-Flask insulated champagne flutes (in white and silver to match the set), but they didn't arrive in time. And you are absolutely correct-coupe glasses don't preserve the bubbles like a flute, and the champagne gets warm much faster (more exposed surface area)-but it was fun going old school and drinking from them!
@@KJBennettBeauty omg, if you heard the squee I just erupted with that would have been me fan gurling from the UK 😁
My fave episode yet! Such a valuable history lesson for understanding and appreciating the artistry of make up..
This is THE BEST interview you've done yet!!!!❤❤ Love you guys!!!
What an episode! Great jobs guys 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Simply Marvelous‼️ Three gorgeous, talented favorites in 1 episode…Bliss❣️✨💋🥰
Love you guys so much!!! Sending love from Spain ❤
First of all, I LOVE this podcast. I love Kevin and Johnny. AND I cannot not notice the frequency of Johnny interrupting Kevin. It’s like Trixie interrupting Katya level
this, and with love 💗every equivalent of yes but it's what came to mind!
Oh my god!! I am so excited!! 0:22 I’m this far in!!! ❤❤❤
This has been my absolute favourite episode!!!!! ❤
What a fascinating conversation! Thank you so much for sharing this with us 💕
Ooooohhhh gurls, it's gonna be a GOOD one!!! 🍿
Ugh!!!! This episode was so phenomenal, I cannot believe it’s over!! Wanted more and more insight from this amazing guest!!!!
Omg this was great. Please have him as a guest again in the future
Omg what a fantastic episode! I could listen to Kevin for hours and hours about all his experiences, tips and tea! ❤
26:16 this part of the episode in particular transcends the makeup artistry profession. This is about life and having both the courage and grace to take risks that may initially result in failure and ultimately achieve growth, innovation and success. Great discussion!
I love the guests u guys have on....so insightful and honest....this pod gets better and better every week....thank u for starting my Monday off so perfectly❤
I LOVE the guests you guys have had on recently. Maybe there can be a part two? 👀
What a badass guest and mind opening interview!! Give us allll of this kind of content because I am here for all of it 😂
I could listen to another 2-3 hours of the three of you talking. Please have KJB back soon to share more industry knowledge.
What a fascinating guest Mr. Bennett is. I could listen to him talk about makeup all day. I have been predicting the return of 90s makeup and I've been saying the same thing about brands chasing each other so I'm feeling quite smug which feels right on a holiday weekend. 🥂
This was such a good episode. I think KJB had as much fun talking about his insights of the evolution of the makeup industry as you guys had asking him about it. I feel flush with new education 😊❤
Thank you for this interview. I feel like I learned more in this one hour episode, than I have ever learned about makeup in my entire lifetime. I also have to add that I was in Ulta on Friday, and the testers are disgusting. You can’t even tell what the correct shade of a product is because it’s been out for so long, handled so many times that the color has changed. I know this because I had most of the products that I looked at already at home. I was just being curious because the same thing happened at Sephora a couple months ago. You can’t even get an idea of what a product looks like because of the nasty testers. I am NOT swatching a damn thing in those stores, not even on my hand. I am no germaphobe, but those testers give me the creeps.
This was the best way to spend a Sunday Afternoon...thank you so much for deep diving in..from his..how it all started to his involvement within the industry...I am sure I am not alone that wanted this episode not to end....maybe just maybe with all the new regulations coming this summer..it will slow down the amount of products being released and we can focus on enjoying an actual new innovative product launches....thank you both for your true interest in not only the products but the people behind the brands and beauty industry too!
This is one of my fave episodes. Thank you for the stories and the knowledge.
I loved this episode soooo muchhhh . The amount of makeup knowledge and insider stories were really amazing and inspiring to hear as a makeup artist ! I hope he comes again on the show , I just had to follow him ✨💜
I need a part two! Three! And a book!
Not super relevant BUT what you said about being nice reminds me of my mother in law. I struggled for a hot second to pin point why I had an issue with her and it wasn't until I realized she is a nice person but she is not a kind person. Once I saw it I couldn't unsee it, now I have lots of examples of the difference lol
Yes! The last several years have revealed some people to me who are just like that.
Wish they dived more into the James Charles and other influencers bullshit with lying …
We did, but it was edited out. Will it show up on their new Patreon channel? That's a question for Johnny R.
How was it an hour already?!
I love this episode! Thank you for introducing those of us who weren’t aware of this icon! I loooove this type of content, way to go beautiful and bothered!
