- Dave Mustaine made a statement regarding the album Youthanasia and it's tempo being considerably slower to gain radio airplay. In this video we revisit the classic Megadeth track The Killing Road from this album and speed it up 25% for the optimal metal tempo.

I like it better than original speed 😅
It shreds at that speed, and the solo is crazy. Thanks for watching and the comment. Cheers!
I love Youthanasia but some of
my favorite songs on Countdown
are the heaviest. Ashes In Your Mouth
and Architecture of Aggression are
easily two of my favorite Megadeth songs.
Those are both great songs, and I agree. Thanks for watching and the comment. Cheers!
I prefer the original. Youthanasia is a mood. The slower speed works in that context.
It definitely works but the album seems to be kind of monotone
@@mattmillerguitar that's true but I kinda enjoyed that about Youth. It was like I was listening to one giant song.
Mustaine claims that when it was remastered or
reissued that he sped the songs up a bit. I listened
to some of the remaster but I honestly couldn't tell
the difference.
I remember reading that he had increased the tempo on the tracks but when I listened to the remaster I couldn't tell either. I think Youthanasia is a good album but I can recall hearing it for the first time and going why is it so slow?
I hate those kind of in your face vocals
that don't have any room reverb.
In my opinion I think the vocals sound good and sometimes the spoken word idea works. I'm sure there is some processing going on but it maybe really faint or the chorus has the dynamic. Thanks for watching and the comment. Cheers!
