A luxury my wife and I enjoy every evening is a candle light dinner with soft background music and dimmed lighting. This setting encourages wonderful conversation, yes, even after 49 years of marriage. I thoroughly enjoy your channel.
That sounds like a wonderful idea. I hope to do something similar with my wife one day.
Excellent!
We do the same thing. After dinner walk , it’s tea and occasionally an aperitif and conversation with candles on our porch. We both look forward to this every day.
Who sets up and cleans the table?
@@ericsonhazeltine5064I do.
To add luxury when I travel, I go to one of the grand hotels in my destination and simply have a drink in the lobby bar. Usually these bars are very elegant and calming and it gives me great pleasure to just sit there for an hour enjoying a cocktail or glass of wine. To seriously drink or dine in these surroundings could be quite expensive, but a single drink in the right surroundings adds a lot of elegance for a modest cost.
Totally agree!
I LOVE this idea! I've had my share of travels but I've never thought to do this. Thank you for sharing, I'm excited for my next trip!
Yes I do that too great idea
For a young man You have a grasp of the simpler things in life that most people find later in life. Congrats on a great channel.
Thank you, sir.
A fine cigar, with either a coffee or a single-malt scotch does the trick.
That's luxury for sure. I will be taking a tour of Scotland in September to explore the single-malt distilleries.
This video made me realize that I live a luxury life in my own way, of course. I love my rituals like listening to some good old rock or jazz music at the end of the day. I’m an abstinent and instead of making a cocktail I cook and enjoy my meals.
That's exactly the point of this video. Luxury can be however you define it. Thanks for your comment
@@Gent.ZI should get into making some cocktails. 🍸I agree, I am currently sitting on my deck sipping a cup of tea. I usually do this first thing in the morning without any electronics (or some light jazz playing in the background)
And I’ve never had this good of a state of mind before. 👍
Record players aren't just for hipsters. There's something very relaxing a luxurious about looking through your records, feeling the tactile nature of the record and the sleeve, putting it on and letting the needle drop. There's a time element that makes you slow down and experience the thing. Plus records just sound better than digital, especially if you have decent speakers. I don't have anything fancy. Just really good desktop speakers with a sub that fills up my small-ish living room and kitchen with really warm sound.
I'm very excited for this channel to grow in the way it deserves.
Fresh flowers, top quality scented candles, a glass of wine with dinner...
At 8am this morning my wife and I were wading in the warm Mediterranean sea at a quiet beach. I poured a cup of coffee from a thermos I had prepared and brought it to her,. We drank the coffee and talked while standing in the sea and enjoying the sea breeze and early morning sunshine. Didn't cost anything but it was a little moment of luxury.
That sounds like a dream, good for you
If I'm going to be in the car for more than 10-15 minutes I wear driving gloves. And if it's sunny out, a pair of Serengeti Drivers. If I'm driving a stick, I wear driving moccasins... even if I need to change when I reach my destination. It's worth the trouble. These things remind me that driving a nice automobile can and should be an event. -- A Gent X
I replaced my SUV for a sports car years ago, and driving the kids to school went from being a chore to an enjoyable ride. I’ll look into driving moccasins, thanks
Sounds great! What do you use to put your dress shoes in for when you arrive at your destination? I've only found flimsy ugly bags on Amazon or bulky boxes. Nothing practical and elegant.
Driving gloves also afford extra purchase on the steering wheel should you need to get that extra 10% from the Aston while pursuing a bond type villain.
@@micheltrijsburgLuxury hotels usually provide nice bags, when you have your shoes polished. I use those.
@@johnmccormack4498…and that’s the vibe we’re going for!
Time is the ultimate luxury, spending it doing what you like to do. Whether it is shaving with a straight or a DE razor, making Turkish Coffee or using a Moka Pot, getting a hair-cut, writing a handwritten note or refilling my fountain pens.
Of course anything that takes me away from my mobile phone.
Simply eating well is luxurious. A cocktail at home with excellent food is luxury living at its best, especially if you have an elegant outdoor setting to enjoy.
If you’re lucky enough to have yard space, even if it’s small, I find that having a garden with flowers you like and keeping it well maintained makes me feel more luxurious.
Sometimes, sitting down reading a book with a fire in the fireplace or listening to some nice music helps.
Fresh flowers. And if you can’t afford fresh flowers, a nice bowl of mixed citrus fruit is colorful, inexpensive, and can be used for cocktails when needed.
That view you have from your terrace: that's a luxury. Good job!
MORE OF THIS PLEASE MY DUDE
I LOVE these suggestions
I own and operate an executive car service. Your playlist is what I will have on when driving. now. Thanks for sharing it
Soft background jazz and one drink can do wonders!
I live in the upper east side of manhattan and I spent decades going the to the Carlyle hotel...... in the piano bar used to be Bobby short playing jazz. I met a few celebrities as well Mick Jagger, Tony Bennett, Henry Kissinger was there as well. harder to find these clubs today
@@dojocho1894 ☝️for example 💯. Class in general is hard to find these days!. And you do become the environment you put yourself in!
I like to add some essential oil, perhaps lavender, to a spray bottle of water. As I clean and after removing my sheets on laundry day, I will liberally spray my bed and pillows, as well as other spots around the house that pick up cooking or pet odors. The idea is not to overwhelm my senses with a heavy fragrance but to refresh fabrics with a clean, natural scent. It makes me feel pampered.
Hair looking neat!
Thank you. Perhaps I’ll do a new hair tutorial
@@Gent.ZI would appreciate that. I’ve never felt confident with the hair styles I’ve tried.
I agree. Luxury and style begin with one's state of mind, and can consist of simple things.
Try silk pajamas. A completely different comfort and feel. Thanks for video.
for me: good coffee and tea, radio swiss jazz is always on, nice wine (but don't drink regularly), lighting of the apartment - lots of lamps - warm colors, plants. to enhance ALWAYS turn the TV off.
For me, it is important to recognise ordinary beauty and enjoy the simple things. Like the espresso on the terrazza, things like that eleveate your Lifestyle and mental helath, while dicipline is as important.
One thing when you decide to live different then a lot of other men you will get the haters...Like if you wear a sport jacket to a occasion the haters will say why are you dressing up? always continue on with the positive dont let it get you down. Take it as compliment
Dude, watching your videos is a luxury. What one consumes really moulds one, and consuming your content only uplifts me. Thank you.
Botan
Comfortable upscale furniture and interior decorating /design that friends and family remark on when they visit. Definitely a sophisticated cocktail bar with a variety of spirits and signature cocktail classes for specific types of drinks. A high quality Espresso machine with decent coffee beans . A weekly maid service . Quality linens on the bed and an nicely designed and decorated /furnished bedroom.
Luxurious living is a quiet house, one of the cats by my side (if my wife has gone to bed), sitting in the big recliner sipping Drambuie and watching Gent Z!
I believe that these are good rituals in a daily or weekly basis, adding some form and texture to your life. I need this. Thanks!
Please make more videos on this topic! It is a great refresher on how to appreciate the simpler luxuries of day-to-day living and other thoughtful suggestions. Top tier video, as always.
Williamson Earl Grey tea. Best in the world. They blended the tea for Queen Elizabeth II. Tea in beautiful china.
I do mindfulness meditation every evening before bedtime. I use earphones and an MP3 player. Taize music works extremely well, especially when the singing is not in English.
Eat out at interesting restaurants (foreign cuisines) or very high quality restaurants.
Enjoy nature. If you have a yard, plant trees, flowering shrubs and flowers.
I start every day with a wet shave using a double edged razor. Don't go for cheap. A really good razor and blades with a sharpness to meet your needs. A great aftershave/cologne and have enough variety to keep interest. Samples of the really expensive stuff. Scentbird looks interesting.
Luxury has nothing to do with how expensive things are. He is right. Luxury is a state of mind. My favorite thing to do is what he does. Have a great coffee I made myself. Sit and chill.
I keep a light cashmere blanket in my Berluti weekender. It is very comfortable wrapped around me on the plane.
I like that background music idea. This was actually a good video.
I try to visit new places I've never been to everyday. Could be a "backdoor alley" near your home, really expands your brain!:)
I do the same everywhere I have lived 👍🏻
quality thumbnail, G.
Thank you
@@Gent.ZReminds me of your early thumbnails
How about a clean house. You could have a mansion but it would still feel like a dump if not properly maintained.
I enjoy finding luxury in routine as it peppers the day with feelings of overjoy. Between wet-shaving in the morning, enjoying a bold, flavourful espresso, throwing on well-fitted attire and taking a stroll about the city, I don't have to spend any additional money after the things that i've invested in do that work for me in setting the tone. I also love to research luxury and where I can further add more of its presence to my daily life, to find new aesthetics and practises. Luxury is abundant and attainable more than ever today.
You just wrote the perfect definition of "mindset".
I'm going to try the evening jazz. It sounds great.
My luxury is my pot of black tea almost every evening.
But I have to disagree on the definition of a gentleman - I think a gentleman is someone gentle to himself and others like the name itself insinuates. This can mean luxury, but it can also mean self-sacrifice for others - I do not think there is a general definition of what "being gentle" means under each circumstance.
For me personally, being a gentleman is much more about manners than anything else (definitely more than style - style just reflects what's inside already).
Interesting topic.
Congratulations on the growth of the channel. It’s been really fun to follow your progress.
I definitely agree with the part on music playlists. I change what I listen to based on outfits and it really helps, at least for me.
Great video, have u considered exploring the style of JFK?
@@karam6728 I think that’s a great idea. Thank you
Just found your channel. Instantly subscribed, been watching your past videos and now this new one! Keep up the great work.
I really appreciate your suggestions as I use dressing well and scents to feel very luxurious around my home.. I also read, do research into different health topics.. go to the spa monthly.. it is a wonderful experience for less than one hundred dollars.. well worth the experience!!
You may have covered this, but a luxury I enjoy is shaving every morning using a shaving cup, shaving soap, and a proper brush. I'm lazy, so I just use the Gillette Trak III, which is great. But there are some new, boutique razors available that would add a little extra luxury to the experience. And your comments about making a fine cocktail or cup of coffee at home are spot on. As the Aussies say "Good on ya!" :-)
Yes or just weekends
Very thoughtful video. I have a vodka Martini every evening before dinner.
Scentbird sounds wonderful. I really do learn a lot from this channel and I'm glad that I am a subscriber. I certainly need to have more luxury in my life to say the least. Thank you once again young man.
Spot on. I have had my Brooks Brothers seersucker pjs for years. 😊
Great choice of music.
Thank you very much for the food for thought
Outstanding suggestions!
hey bro was wondering if u can make a tutorial on how to dress like David gandy he dresses really well
Regarding the end of day cocktail. I would highly recommend the anime series Bartender “Glass of God”. It will teach a lot about cocktails and it’s a beautiful production.
Just great content!!
Can you make a video about how to dress and act on a burial ? Would be interesting and very helpful
Ooooooh look at that lighting! Love it mate!
Thank you. Going back to just natural lighting. This is me just standing in front of my window.
@@Gent.Z I believe this is for the best!! Looking great. 👍
@@youtubeus3rname thank you. I appreciate the feedback
First, get a good job to support yourself.
For your passive income, choose a good one and put in the effort. It's great to have two sources of income, but it also means double the expenses and investments.
Then, learn from this channel and find your own timeless style. Or, as the Dude would say, "drip" - make sure your outfit is always on point, so that everyone, from strangers to family and friends, will be impressed by your sense of style.
Once completed, tell me about it, i take pride in this comment.
And it was a very good comment 🎉😊
Great content my guy 🤌🏾🤵🏾♂️
Great video, keep it up
Nice video love your content
Sitting in my garden with my wife, i a summer day. Looking out on the countryside, with something cool to drink(it can be gin and tonic, it can be water with ice, non alcoholic beer).
What city was shown from the balcony?
Chicago
You need to try Aaron Terence Hughes fragrances. Best in the business.
Bang on
is that a Parker Jotter in gold next to the coffee cup ?
What color is your suit? I can’t tell if it’s dark blue or black.
Great video! About the music -- no more black metal during daytime I reckon
Great episode. Anyway that gent Z playlist could be replicated on Amazon music or other services ? I really like your taste in music as evidenced in the background of these videos.
Nothing more luxurious than an unhurried poo with a good book, always sets me up for the day
At least once a month I cook a restaurant quality steak dinner. I purchase a more expensive steak and scallops then pair with Broccoli and cheese sauce or asparagus, along with a nice garden salad. A nice quality wine to go with it and spend the time just talking.
Thank you for the advise. it's another excellent video you have produced today..I have a question. At 68, I regularly go to the gym. Spend 40 minutes on the treadmill, 20 light weights, finnish with stretching. I'm on air leaving the jym, ready for what life throws at me. I regularly get complaints that I look much younger than 68. (I love it!) So heres my question. What advise would you give a guy my age, who likes wearing up-to-date clothes. ie, jacket, shirt, slacks, shoes. My wife loves me staying in touch with stile?
Thank you.
Great video, just would like to know what is that watch in thumbnail.
Love the content but I do have a question. How do you manage the feeling of over dressing? Where I live for example absolutely no one dresses with suits and sometimes is rare to see button shirts. I love dressing in a more classical way but its almost always feel out of place
Hey, now that this is a full time job I expect 2 videos a day. Don't let me down. 😎
I may be a little different here, but draw string trousers should perhaps be something no gentleman should own. And most certainly never worn outside of the home.
Love it. Right on point my G.
And than you get married 😮
Gin tonic and heavy metal
Suggestion. You need to make money,. But that should be in the background. A few too many promotions front and center, clumsily disguised as content. They might be content, but if they're selling something, they are automatically suspect, and ungentlemanly. Love your channel and your style. Suggestions meant with the best intent.
Time and relationships are the ultimate luxury. It's stupid to work 80 hours a week to buy a Gucci T-shirt and to return to an empty house.
The story of the Minecraft guy is very revealing. Spent his youth in front of a computer, no time or skill for friends or love. Sold his company for 5 billion, and then he was in yatch in Ibiza full of models and famous people, feeling lonely and miserable.
Bro looks like ellen tryna give advice about masculine
Yikes! You need some brown leather slippers and no socks. I enjoy your videos.
Not sure how productive one would be if you are feeling like "High Heffner" at work lol
What’s a young guy like you doing wearing pyjamas…
As a music lover, I'd be cautious with background music. I listen to music most of my day, and I might be overstimulate it if I just had it running in the background all the time. LIke all other stimuli, you develop a tolerance based on your exposure.
Where do You live?
A gentleman needs someone in his life to tell him bluntly when a look doesn't work. You must get rid of that golden arches moustache.
When I was your age I earned money well. Today I live very modestly.
In my country there is a cheap public transport ticket.
Sometimes I take it to another big city and spend a nice day there.
I can also use it to travel to Luxembourg (Luxembourg is very boring😏) and the Netherlands.
I live in a cooperative with a low rent, but in a very beloved and expensive part of the town.
Some of my neighbors are more unfriendly working class people, but it does not matter to me.
When Corona brokes out, I beautified the garden with lots of plants, especially roses.
I get these when it comes to sale very cheaply here.
They are all international quality varieties from Germany, France, England and other nations.
I am a little expert now, having a lot of books about that fascinating topic🌹
I get clothes new and used very cheaply because there are a lot of shops in my region. 👔👖👞
Those clothes are sometimes similar to your style.
Sometimes I ride my old Peugeot bike to the Rhine river through former villages.
Even though I live in a big city, I am very quick to get out into nature.
I visiting often flew markets and meeting people there, that is fun.
I am a collector of older records, but not a nerd😁
Sometimes I listen to my portable record player in the garden, that is stylish. 🎵🎶
I can pass time with myself without problems.
In my neighborhood there are some nice lakes. It is beautiful to watch the sunset.
In some parts people meet each other for sex. I was ashamed to notice this after month, because I am sometimes a little bit naive🙂.
But there are all kinds of people, families, sportsmen, and others.
When I was taking pictures, some people thought I have made vacation in Sweden
I do not need always company, but you have to have discipline to make your life beautiful, like you do.💚
You're young so all good; for older guys, mixing / drinking by oneself? Warning Will Robinson!
Can a gentleman wear ripped jeans?
Hypothetically, yes. But it's not the most gentlemanly choice.
@@Gent.Z I would have thought yes, but only if he fell upon hard times and had no other choice.
No
You owe me a Gift of your choice (not anything expensive) after reaching 500k. Now you are in 92.1k. Deal?
Commercial too long, couldn't wait, didn't watch.
Classical FM, in the car and in the background while working. 🤌
Thank you for the play list, it's nice 🧏♀️
