- The Haas Lathe Automatic Tool Presetter helps you set your tool offsets faster and more accurately than doing it manually. The simple to use VPS templates on the Haas control walk you through each step. Not only does the ATP allow you to quickly set tool offsets, it can also check for worn or broken tools, as well as adjust offsets for worn tools - all automatically.

Спасибо за то, что некоторое время поработал на вашем оборудовании. Было интересно.👍🏻
Hi Andrew!
What happened with your gorgeous moustaches?
When I use my ATP in the automatic mode. I can no longer handle jog in .100 increments until the next start up of our ST-20. Yes even when the probe arm is up and in a different mode.
Is this better then using a laser? Like say the laser measuring system Blum has
Uhhhh... is your small ID threading insert supposed to be loose enough that it shifts in the tool holder when you touch it off on the ATP? 3:10
So I remember having to calibrate my tool probe and used the procedures and it was always a little off on the inside tools like boring bars. I ended up doing a bunch of test cuts and having to adjust the 'nominal' calibration by something like .020" to get correct tool offsets from a touchoff. That said, now that I've done that I can probe boring bars and be hitting smack on the money first cut so can't complain about it. I just don't understand how the touch points would be off initially.
Interesting you say this. I just broke the probe on my ds30 and had to calibrate it. My boring bars are almost exactly 0.01 off. Lol.
@@doesntmatter9571 yeah I got no idea why it was exactly a nominal value difference. I got the probe value for the top side, dialed it all in, triple checked the stylus cube width using two different mics, ran the math 3 times, and it still just needed a manual adjustment. Oh well.
How do you set up multi tools on the half indexer? And also say quad static drills in a single holder?
On a half indexer your centre line is the same, one tool is e.g. T101 and the second on same station is T125, when you have a double toolholder on a 12 station turret with Y-axis you can use the difference in height, e.g. T230 with Y +40mm and T231 with Y -40mm for centre line.
For the quad toolholder it's a bit stressy, you have to find the centre lines for each bar/pocket with a dial indicator or something like that.
When a Fanuc calls T0101 he calls T01 for station AND geometry, the second 01 is for the WEAR offset, Haas uses T101 or T0101 and the T1 calls the tool station 1 ( or 01), the second 01 calls the geometry plus WEAR, a bit different.
@ytfan3815 are right ok i assumed there was a funky MDI option for entering the data on a menu screen. Bit more work rather than set menus….

Well, when you have double/quad tools on a Fanuc with half index or Y-axis you have to set a parameter so it acts the same like a Haas or other brand for setting the tools.
so clunky
