People said the only way to beat Froning was to wait for him to retire, but chances are Mat could beat him and chances are we'll see someone better than Mat in the future. That's how it is with every sport. People think it's peaked and then a generation later the athletes are on a whole new level.
"I'm always picturing someone else in front of me" That right there talks ages and ages of his mental capacity and his competitiveness, it's always against his own body, his own mind, his own everything, not only for being 5 times champ, but this talks about gym, nutrition, daily routines... for a reason he is what he is... always an inspiration for us mortals

I couldn't figure out why this video seemed so ominous. Had to read the comments and infer that Mat Fraiser retired from Crossfit. The video or at least the description should give some context, I was starting to wonder if he'd died or something.

I was sure Mat would have gone undefeated at the games for another 2 years..... I don’t believe there is anyone in the field who could have come even close to him or his level. It’s like he came back each year with another gear that was not thought possible. He is without doubt the best thing in CrossFit.
