This hits pretty damn close to home. All of my high school friends including me are turning 27 next year and its such a weird stage in life where you either have it all together or everythings falling apart. There is no in between. It’s a really unique video. So funny, but at the same time so touching (source: the WIDE wide range of comments)
This one popped in my feed around when it was uploaded & I had no idea who Joel Haver was, and wouldn’t for at least another year. Even after that, I didn’t subscribe until very recently.
Since then I’ve been going through his videos in chronological order & when I hit play here I couldn’t believe that the hilarious but sentimental video I’ve always remembered was him 😂

Yep, you summed everything up pretty good.
When you are the guy who's doing " pretty good " it just looks like the world has gone away from you, it fells as you don't fit anywhere, or with anybody, you are not jealous of your friends, you are actually happy for them, and to see then, but then it comes the sadness you feel about yourself becoming nothing and you don't feel you can hang with them anymore.
Always looking for the next day, and thinking somehow you gonna pull through it all.

Its ok to make friends and move on, if you've lost much its okay, because you can always find more good people and more good moments along the way. My friend cutter was like that for me. After high school I was the last of our friends to move out and start our lives. Which is funny, because I was also the first to move out. I got a seasonal job in Washington multiple states away from our home state and did that for a few months. But after that job I moved back to my moms until I could find out what I wanted to do. Instead I ended up living there for over a year with no job or realistic goals. He was in college at U of A and I was really jealous at the fact that he knew what he wanted to do. But every time he came home we’d hang out and he’d try to convince me that my position was completely normal and ok. After a while I decided it was time to move out and get on with life and he talked me through the whole process to get into college in Phoenix. I’ll be back home later this week, and now for the first time we’ll both be hanging out in our hometown on break from college.

Stay at one walmart one night, stay at another, the next night, go to another the night after that, then return to your first walmart... The signs do mean it sometimes(havent found one that did, but I also havent lived in my car for extremely long periods of time), and sometimes they dont, just don't park close to the store, take the farthest spot away from the store, or the least "liked" spot by the customer, if you're working a job you should have no problems because you'd be leaving their lot by 6AM to 9AM, and those aren't super active hours for a walmart.
When I lived in my car the walmarts I stayed at never came out and chased me off the lot, I pretty much stayed at the same walmart for multiple days at a time and never had issues, even though they had signs saying no over night parking.

I think it's just that this is truly inspired, he had a vision, idea or story that he wants to share for it's own sake, and for the sake of sharing the feelings it evokes. Most tv and movies are kind of just incidental to making money, and it doesn't matter how talented or creative a writer is, if there's no inspiration, everyone can tell. The big shows are always trying to write shit that *sounds* inspired, rather than just making the sort of things that they can really speak through.

The other sets out for a more transient lifestyle, but cannot afford the basic necessities in the first place. One runs from his troubles with a pathetic hobby, the other uses a mundane distance relationship to cope. Both exist in equivalent isolation and need meaningful connection to make it through. Yes lol he must have! My best friend is a filmmaker and she 100% does that. I’m a traditional artist and I love stumbling upon a great find, but the absolute hype that filmmakers make over a find is fantastic and so contagious

Honestly, this is one of the best short films I’ve ever seen. It was so funny and well done. The camera work flipping back and forth during the bathroom scene 😂 and the ending so on point. I think a lot of people could find this very relatable because so many people have lost their livelihoods after the pandemic began.
