When lie was released my world shifted on its axis
Saw how much you loved LIE, and it is indeed fantastic!! Must point out that the producer for Lie is called Docskim. He also produced Namjoon's Wildflower! You'll notice the similarities in the layers upon layers of auditory elements, all coming together so smooooothly into an elegant, EPIC-sounding track! I fell in love with Lie very early on, and was so excited to learn Docskim was also producing Wildflower and I was never happier to be proven right--- I love every BTS song that man produces!
1:40:38 Actually bae has three different meanings here: Sunbae = seniors, Hobae = juniors and baby/"sweety". I love RM's wordplays! 💜
Lie was the song which caught my attention. I cried when I first hear it, my favorite song until now.

For me, the best album.
The emotions that this album conveys to me, no one else does. I love not only the album and the songs themselves but also all the work behind it, the mvs the concept the various photoshoots, everything.
After 6 years of being army it's still my favorite album and I think it will always be.

Awake is actually produced, composed and majorly written by Slow Rabbit and Jin. SeokJin actually wrote part of Outro : Propose before and some other songs (and is also known for give ideas/melodies for songs in Wings album and Spring Day). He actually writes/composes for ALL his solo songs and sometimes production too. The others actually played very small participation in Awake (like one line participation), the major work is done by SR and Jin. (Sorry for the reply, it's just the summary for the song rubbed me a lil wrong like others had done the song for him when actually the song is majorly done by him - it was concepted by him - and his friend. Jin himself came w 20 versions of it till finally producers stop rejecting his great stuff and give the song a chance)
So I wasn't the only one...
That summary really downplayed Jin's role, especially compared to the other summaries, so yeah, that one really irked me too. Thank you for this comment. 💜

@@susank.548Yes, but the problem is that if you listen to the other summaries they're not focused on all the credits that are also on the other songs. Why not focus on the meaning of the song and the artist in question like the other summaries? Why only on this song?
@Imajin All The Purple thought someone might have a legit answer...but the same two people that backed up the chorus on Lie,did so in awake as well. I just would have liked to have been a mouse in the studios during the Wings Era,wouldn't that have a beautiful thing to witness and hear??? My,my,my!
@@susank.548 I'm not entirely sure about your point in this context (not a native english speaker so I might be missing out because of translation) but... Omg, you just had to mention Lie. It's like my big weakness! 😆 I think the composition is one of the best in BTS's entire discography (not song but composition). Pure *chef's kiss*
The song awake is really close to my heart. I found BTS when I was not doing good and filled with doubts and insecurities. When I listened to this album Awake immediately made me bawl my eyes out and it hit directly to my heart. Its such a comfort song and I listened to this everyday. Then I went on listened to Epiphany and I WAS IN HEAVEN. I just love JIN so so soooo much. I cant even express myself. "wide awake don't cry and wide awake no lie" those lyrics just gave me so much strength in those dark times... I will be forever thankful that I am an army and i found BTS
Wings was my first comeback as a baby ARMY. This album is still my favorite.
That was the era I was introduced to bts and it will always have a special place in my heart. 😊💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I agree with you that everything they do is done so meticulously. I also admire the people (Bang PD & the creatives) that have been with them thruout, for supporting them yet letting them grow, as well. Fast forward to today…their individual maturation is so evident in their solo projects. Can you imagine what their reunion album and/or concert would be like?

Lie is EPIC!! The lyrics, the vocals, the composition, and the choreo for the performance. Mwuah! 💋 💜 Definitely one of, if not the best B side track. I remember watching some classical musicians react to it and they were freaking out over it too. P.S. I like Jim's face when he listens to Jimin singing. 💜
I feel like wings was BTS coming into themselves. Before they were growing and developing their voice but everything came together perfectly with wings.Their vision became so clear and was communicated so well.

Wings is my favorite album, so far. I listened to it straight through a bunch, and now listen to it from Begin through to Suga's song, then skip around. Love it.
fyi - Bae is short for both Hoobae and Seonbae in Korean meaning those who are your juniors and seniors in the industry or in age. It can also be seen by international audiences as short for baby (as in girlfriend) when used as a triple entendre in Joonie's and BTS's marvelous wordplay in their lyrics.
Yes, JK was so young when they began. I feel like most people overlook the fact they were all super young. They are all growing up together.

Thanks, Jim, for putting this on RUclips. I realize it's from a year ago, but it was so fun to watch your face while you heard these songs for the first time. Especially "Lie." I've heard discussion about how changing from minor to major when he hits the word lie, makes it a part of the lie. Let's see, what's my favorite song? Hmm...well the Cypher 4 is my favorite cypher because it really ends on a positive note. And I got to be at Yoongi's concert and sing "I love, I love, I love, I love myself with everyone and it was mind blowing and self affirming all at the same time! 🙂 But really, I think my favorite song is "21st Century Girls" First of all, I'm a 20th century girl, but both 20th and 21st are mentioned in the song. So, one day I'm driving, listening to my "You'll Never Walk Alone" album on my trusty CD player for the first time. This song comes on and I've got my hand up (the other one is on the wheel) and all of a sudden I hear, "Now scream!" and I almost drove off the road! How did he know that was what I wanted to do just then? They're mind readers, too. This whole album is full of well written songs, as you said. And they all have well done permformances, so it really depends on what mood you're in as to what you want to listen to. Or maybe you just want to watch that mv or choreo again because you really love the dancing. Ah, being ARMY is such a great experience. ...and I really did write all these words!

The BST dance choreo is full of Easter eggs with moves reflecting the storyline.
Their hands do see/heat/speak no evil; they fall to the ground like Icarus; they jump in/out of formation - the push/pull of temptation.
They brush their left/right shoulders, where the angel and devil sit and influence us...
Jim, there are 3 sets of solo tracks from BTS albums!!! So 21 songs total within the albums from BTS as a group. The WINGS album has the 1st set of solos from the guys. The 2nd set comes from LOVE YOURSELF: Answer Album and 3rd set comes from their Map of the Soul Album. 💜🎶 Proud of these guys and they're only honing their craft as musicians and individuals by taking a break from group projects to focus on their individual endeavors. just realized how much begin relates to me. I too feel like I was nobody before I met BTS. I had no taste or colour before them, but they made me, and gave me a new life. I feel the most hurt when they are sad. If I'm sad about something in my life, I'm still ok but them being hurt just makes me wanna die. They truly make me begin too. They painted me with their colours but also helped me to find my own colour. I too feel I am a manifestation of all of them. Omg I'm jk! xd. Thank you Jungkook for this beautiful song that perfectly explained how I feel too.

Suga's First Love also refers to his ex best friend who did jail time for drug usage. He mentioned this friend in a lot of other songs, including his part in the song "Spring Day" (contrary to common belief, the song is NOT about the Sewol incident but about Suga's friend and RM's struggles.)
Omg...thanks so much for this...at some point I just got tired of clarifying that the song is about RM and SUGA's view of their struggles and friends and then the music video was to comfort and remember the tragedy in Sewol.
It is hard to point out just ONE favorite song. BTS is so amazing.

Lie is MASTERPIECE
This is a beautiful and meaningful album and one of my favorites. Not a skippable song on this album. Thank you for taking time to listen to BTS.

I still remember when WINGS dropped and twitter was hyped about Lie so I checked it out and REALLY loved it (to say the least) still my fave bts solo
This was the era I found BTS, BST being the first song of theirs I heard. This album will always have a special place in my heart because it meant so much to me. It expresses a lot of things I was struggling with at the time. I remember binging all the videos and lyric videos I could and crying because it made me feel less alone
Wings Era hits different.
For me this album is one of their best jobs so experimental and artistry , i mean, from the content- concept ( short films , mv and concept itself about demian book) (btw, bts was the first doing this kind of things, and since they were successfull with this, they became the standar for the rest of groups)
WINGS really told the world that BTS is not their title songs... b-sides are where they're truly at.

Maybe 2!3! made me an army. I watched a fan made recording of 2!3! in concert, the audience in Rotterdam singing in Korean (I failed to get tickets for my daughter) and I was blown away.

Jin was at a distinct disadvantage. He was signed because he was good looking. He had to learn to sing and dance in training and he was the oldest at 20. Apparently he kept apologising in his sleep. He struggled with the dancing and singing They were regularly assesed and list made and trainees sent home. Jin was continuously at or next to the bottom. All through his training he could not undestand why he was still there. Though Jin was at college to be an actor according to himself, he vould easily become a loner. For all of his public fun personality where he calls himself World Wide Handsome as a joke, that is a character he plays. On Taylors guide he said he wrote the melody for that song 20 or 20 times. On the song 'Am I wrong' Mayday refers to the call sign of a ship in trouble and refers to the scandal over the Sewel Ferry disaster that brought The government down. BTS also wrote SPRINGDAY about that.

7 super talented creative guys with a Leader RM who is an emotionally intelligent poet with an IQ of 148. A leader who believes in leading by aiding the individual members in their own growth whilst providing emotional support. Encouraging them by example to be open honest and affectionate.
