OMG Michael. If you knew the HUUUUUUGE "YEEEAAAAH" I let out when I just saw this dropped. Sorry, but I'm so excited for your reactions to BTS albums. Just chills. It makes my day. Thank you so much. I really love how you "get it" if you know what I mean. You actually take the time and have skills to understand what their music brings. Chills. Can't wait.
Wings is just such a beautiful album and actually the first BTS album I bought
When you listened to Begin I realized that you never reacted to any "who is BTS" videos before which surprised me a lot! Why? Because from albums alone you seem to understand them so, so well! This is incredible how much of their personalities you can see and understand from their music alone, from actually paying attention to the lyrics. And I love it. In case you ever decide to check on them more, I would recommend you to stay away from fan-made explanation videos for a while (and if I could recommend one it would be: ruclips.net/video/a0m_No-_fGw/видео.html - it is a draft but so far the best introduction i seen), but watch the documentary series BTS or movie made during their World Tour. I think you would like to see it, some behind the scenes, some real conversations. I would love to see this reaction as well.
(Awake) The flower petals play a role on the BU (the carry a LOT of meaning). Something about BTS concert two days ago tells me they're trying to tell us something (and maybe about their upcoming album), bc they included it on stage... Can't wait for the next album.
I would really love your reaction to the storyline. It's an amazing experience
Not even 5 minutes in but I already know I am gonna have an incredible time, I love when people give their time to learn what their lyrics stand for.
BTS most definitely deserves it!! I’m really glad you’re enjoying so soon
@@MichaelBeveraggi Im finally back from college class and was able to watch the rest, I can say the past me was rigth!
If you are looking for more in depth interviews, I would recommend searching for their "Weverse Magazine" interviews or the one they did with Esquire.
And you are definitely an Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth (ARMY), Michael, sending you good thoughts from Brazil! 💜
💯💯
I agree!! I knew Michael was sincerely interested in the guys from the beginning. Not like alot of these channels doing BTS reactions for views.
There's a fantastic moment in the WINGS Tour when RM sings "Reflection" during their concert in BRAZIL. There was a fanchant that followed the lyrics "I wish I could love myself" that normally just chanted his name in rhythm "Kim Nam Joon" but in BRAZIL the ARMYS at the concert made a project where instead of chanting his name, when he sang "I wish I could love myself" they chanted "WE LOVE YOU" and you can see the moment he realizes what they're saying, and he changes the lyrics mid-song to "Yes I do love myself." Even just talking about it makes me want to cry because is was such a beautiful moment. It became the norm after that concert to chant "WE LOVE YOU" or the Korean "SARANGHAE."
My absolute favourite
I'll be honest I cry every time I think about it
Bruh I’m gonna cry 😭
That's so beautiful! Do you have a link to the video?
The only thing I could think we he was reacting to this song
"It makes listening to other music almost an unfortunate experience." YES. I enjoy many types of music but no one (NO ONE) has elicited the dedication that this group has gotten from me. It was so unexpected and I'm so happy that I found them. The songs musically are amazing but the lyrics will mess you up. I love your reactions. Thank you!
2!3! (pronounced as doolset, yes, it's where doolsetbangtan got their name) is actually a song written to armys. so the flower in the most beautiful moment in life is us... :(
they got a lot of hate throughout their career and armys were right there with them every step of the way, so they wrote a song for them and us to comfort each other.
Up
This!
Also the live where ARMY sang it back 😢😢😢
For Jin in awake, because he developped his skills during the training period, and did not have much experience like the rest of the members, so he feels like he is not as good as them, so he wishes he can fly like the 6 flowers. The rest of the members testify that Jin spends more hours and put so much effort in practice "so he doesnt hold them back", and his effort made them realize that everyone can improve on themselves! and look at him now, he never stands out (in a bad way) when they do choreo, and during the wings tour, he tore the roof off with his high notes.
true this solo could also be a testament to how we are our own worst critics when it comes to reflecting on our attributes....
Up
Now he has found the charm of his amazing vocal . And Epiphany, Abyss,Tonight? Only he can pull out that emotion
in all of them Jin is the one who improve soooo much throughout the years.
"Lie" it's just a masterpiece musically speaking (the use of the text painting is insane) :) when jimin sings "caught in a lie" starting the chorus it's in a major chord while the rest of the song it's in minor. The major chord is associated with good and happy feelings but Jimin's actually is singing sad and kinda painful lyrics. So the major chord itself is the lie... :)
And if you watch the live performance it's just another level
Came here to write about the major chord 😁
Docskim and Jimin did such a great job.
Truuuue
IT IS A MASTERPIECE 😫
This song is what tipped me over to really find out more about them
Note: Jungkook’s solo track. “Begin” is about how he came to Seoul and met BTS members, what he felt and thought in the process, and how he’s changed into what he is now thanks to the members. (‘WINGS’ preview SHOW) At first, Jungkook tried to write the lyrics by himself since it’s his own story, but found it extremely difficult. He then asked RM to write the lyrics for him. RM recalled what Jungkook said when BTS members were talking about individual hardships. Jungkook said, crying, “There was nothing that is difficult for me. I came in at a young age, signed the contract without knowing anything, sang and danced because that’s what I wanted. What pains me is the members being in pain, who are helping me and are living with me.
this boy literally grow up infront of their eyes from middle school to his university graduation last week😭
😭💜
*Am I Wrong* is politically heavy especially the choreography that was straight up a diss
BTS really risked their career with *Am I Wrong* and *Spring Day*
I would recommend you check the story behind them out
yesssss, there is SO much more to these songs than surface level. Once again, these men are on a whole different level w/ their song writing :) hope you choose to dive a tad deeper into the songs.
May I ask if their is an explanation video for Am I Wrong?
@@amberpearce710 here is a pretty solid explination video ruclips.net/video/IjdAXULj6Q0/видео.html
yea, especially am i wrong, cuz it's literally direct dissing the gov at the time
@@Flash-mv8rn thank you
Suga really wrote a love song to a piano as larger metaphor for his love of music and at one point talks AS THE PIANO talking back to himself. He really did that!?
We stan artists.
RM said that the whole Love Yourself era was made after his song Reflection.
There is a clip of him singing this in a concert in Brazil I think, where at the end he says "I wish I could love myself" and ARMY shouted "we love you!" repeatedly, It makes me tear up everytime.
😭
One of my favorite songs! No one ever talks about it so it feels underappreciated =( It also sounds like it could be on Mono. The first time I heard the song, at the end, I thought he was saying "I was so cruel on myself" so I think about that every time I hear it.
and after brazilian ARMY shouted "we love you" he changed the lyrics to "yes i do love myself" :)
@@claravk yes 😭😭
@@claravk BTS is now loving themselves
48:19 You got it right! Actually, RM is the official leader of the group and I love that you realized his qualities as a leader without knowing he was one. 💜
Same!!!
Best leader ever
BTS would not exit without him
exactly!!!
RM is the official leader of BTS! He's also the main spokes person (he is the most fluent in English and Japanese as well), usually leads American award speeches and interviews, and the main writer for the group (you often see him have credits on almost all of their songs, including solos and subunits and the other members go to him for lyric and composition advice when creating music). I recommend watching a BTS introduction video that will explain a little bit more about each member and their roles/dynamic in the overall group :)
"Awake" is essentially about Jin feeling inferior to all the other members, they can all fly (as petals) but he cannot despite having wings. It probably has to do with initially Jin being recruited into BTS mainly as an actor and regarded mostly for just his good looks and not being appreciated for his talent as an artist. But (he is the oldest member btw) he still holds the others very dear and doesn't have any ill will towards them. Him "holding them "tightly in his hands" is him saying he may not be as great but he will always be there to take care of them. This song makes his later solo "epiphany" even more meaningful because it shows his growth toward loving himself and hopefully moving away from those feelings of inferiority.
Jin has had a long journey of improving his musical talents to be seen as more than just his face and this song reflects the feelings that came along with that.
His vocal coach said he was the most dedicated person they have ever worked with and I hope more people can see him for all that he is.
hope you were able to see this and it helped

Spring day has a very deep and sad story behind it. Its about Sewol tragedy. You can react to explanation video. The best one is from italian army, but watch the first part. Its very detailed bur also super emotional, so be prepared. It will wreck you for at least few hours if not more. You have us with you. We love you and purple you. Also i have to note that i really enjoy watching your reactions. You posses so much love for music, you respect artists and their lyrics. I really admire you for that. I hope you discover more amazing artists like you discovered bts, little mix, nf... I will suggest a few every now and then😉
Please be aware that the Music video of spring day is about the sewol tragedy but not the song/lyrics itself!
People always seem to forget that...
@@vanatani written it was about friends but choreo and MV... well... but the destinction is important.
For Koreans the song is the perfect embodiment of the Korean emotion "Han". For me it has all the steps of mourning.
Spring Day is still queen. 💜
Please if you have time check out the explanation for the Sweol tragedy and Spring Day
@@vanatani why are you sharing misinformation? They literally have confirmed that the song, while inspired by namjoon and sugas personal stories, is heavily linked to the tragedy and that they released the song to comfort the society. The lyrics are about longing and can be understood as the survivors battling their survivors guilt and missing their friends.
@@vanatani you are spreading misinfo
We need a whole one hour spring day video because this song is on another level, it's based on a ferry accident where a lot of people (especially young people) passed away and every little detail represents something
Just the MV is about sewol not the song itself
Yes! There is so much to unpack in the MV (I recommend the explanation by Italian Army). Nice catch, Michael noticing the laundry scene parallel with Permission to Dance.
Thanks Vanatani for adding the clarification. I think many assume the song is about the disaster when it is the MV that alludes to it, emphasis on "alludes." The event is horrific and my comment is not meant to minimize it. I just believe it is important to think critically and avoid assumptions.
@@vanatani um but it is. This is literally the reason why the song never leaves the charts in south korea and why its so well loved
@@louisegerdes6283 you forget that you can NEVER say that this song is about this or that. An artist ALWAYS leaves you the freedom to interpret the artwork how you see it. The fact that bts released the song right at the time when south korea was in mourning was NO coincidence ;) so you can without doubt say that the song is about the survivors and the dead and bts‘ attempt at comforting the society (its been literally confirmed that this was bts‘ intention and that while the song was inspired by namjoons and yoongis personal stories, its also linked to the disaster)
"I hold six flowers in my hands " do you know jin is the oldest member, these lines are my fav being the eldest in my family

2015-2017 were horrible years for bts, most particularly rm as the official leader of bts. the entire industry was working against them and bts + armys received massive hate from anti-fans (it’s absolutely disgusting, armys received a lot of death threats just for being fans of bts) rm spoke about having a dark mindset in that time.
at the end of one of the performance, when rm says “i wish i could love myself”, armys chanted “WE LOVE YOU” back and rm ended the song with “i do love myself”
1:22:50
2!3! is a song for ARMYS, telling us that even if we go through bad things, we are still together (again, 2015-2016 were… something 🥲)
ARMYs and BTS are definitely a family. 💜
The live-stages are amazing (they have a docu series and dilm documenting the wings tour) Jhope's mom was in the audience when he first performed the song, also SUGA's childhood piano is the same one onstage with him, and during reflection when RM sings "I wish I could love myself", the audience chnats "we love you" in response, that made him change they lyrics to "I really do love myself"
Trust me.... once you get on Doolset do some digging, and learn what Am I Wrong is actually about... you'll appreciate it so much more. It's also good to know that you're looking up interviews and stuff from the boys. Really, when you put their musical talent and their personalities together... you can see there was no way these guys weren't going to make it. (Side note, don't know if you noticed but DoolSet's name comes from the song 2!3!. Dool and Set are Korean for 2 and 3.)
“ It makes listening to other music almost an unfortunate experience” yep! I would say the same goes with watching other dancers in popular music as well as award show performances- you just can’t watch other dancers anymore - they ruin you with their excellence!
When Jungkook said he was 15 years old in Begin he was actually 13 years old. In South Korea your age is 1 or 2 years older than your actual age. In SK you are 1 when you are born, then everyone turns a year older on January 1st (not their actual birthday). So take V for instance he was born December 30, 1995 which means 2 days later on January 1st, 1996 he was considered 2 years old by Korean age when he was really only 2 days old.
Here is a list of their current ages with their current Korean ages
Jin (December 4, 1992) age 29- Korean age 31
Suga (March 9, 1993) age 29- Korean age 30
J-Hope (February 18, 1994) age 28- Korean age 29
RM (September 12, 1994) age 27-Korean age 29
Jimin (October 13, 1995) age 26- Korean age 28
V (December 30, 1995) age 26- Korean age 28
Jungkook (September 1, 1997) age 24- Korean age 26
Aaahhhhhh!!!!! Gotta watch this here again. I forgot to comment on patreon how much I looooove that you do your research when there's something you don't understand, like with hyung, JK's age, and crow-tit (btw keep this definition in mind, you'll need it for your future reactions) I can't tell you how happy it makes us to see someone interested and putting the effort to learn more.
Anyway, as always I loooove all your BTS reactions and love discovering new music with your other videos. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Hii Mariana!! Thanks for showing love there & here, that’s extra special ☺️🤗

@@bluewolfdancer me too
For the cypher (pt4) when RM mentions ("oh face not idol" soory bae), it's a clap back at the hate he got earlier in his career because he did not fit typical idol beauty standars
“Am I Wrong” is sampled from Keb’ Mo’s 1994 song of the same name. It’s a blues inspired track about political apathy and dissonance
blood, sweat and tears is about temptation and everything that comes along with it, a perfect continuation of boy meets evil. its music video fully references hermann hesse's book demian, which also deals with the topic of temptation.
I really want you to start watching "The rise of bangtan" it's a pretty long series with episodes but it's edited so good and you can learn more about the boys relationship with each other and about how much work they put into everything. I really hope you consider starting it because I rarely find reactors that are really putting effort into learning more about them and not faking it and you can tell you really give your best in understanding. You're like a breath of fresh air with all this "honest reactions" on youtube, thank you!

Yesss this! 😍💜💜💜

Yes, I will add that because you're going backward in their albums, I recommend waiting until you are done with the albums to start that series though because it will spoil all their early albums. It is a fantastic series because it really gives a deep look their career and also delves into the context of the Korean idol system as well as Korean society.
YES
The solo songs in this album has a personal connection to each member who sang the song. That is why Wings album is so close to my heart
some cool word play in Cypher pt4:
- the "bae" line that RM repeats throughout his verse actually has two other meanings besides being a slang for baby: Sunbae and Hoobae. Seniors (someone older or that has more experience) and Juniors (someone younger or has less experience in a profession) respectively.
- J-Hope's line at 1:10:30 is a bad translation. It roughly translates to "all of you will start to kiss my feet" (all the rappers/haters who talked down on them before with start to praise BTS or grovel in hopes of getting their favor or a sliver of their success).
- When Suga says "call me Baepsae," he is refering to the Korean idiom, "A crow-tit who tries to outrun a stork will tear its legs." A crow-tit aka a Baepsae is a small bird with very tiny legs while a Stork is a large crane like bird with very long legs. They have an entire song based around this saying that is titled "Baepsae" and they often use the bird as a symbol for a try-hard, or someone that struggles against odds that are deeply against them from the beginning (just how BTS had odds stacked against them from the beginning of their careers). The Crow-tit can also be used to represent the millenials/younger generation in Korea while the Storks represent the older generation (this is explains more deeply in their song Baepsae, or its English title: Silver Spoon) The "Crow-tit" also comes up in their songs "Not Today" and "Am I Wrong".
The wings album is based off a german book "demian" and has themes of temptation. That's what was mostly refrenced in boy meets evil and in blood sweat and tears

jimin's song lie is amazing because it literally lies to you as it starts with minors chords and then it suddenly hits the major chords during the chorus, essentially tricking us into his lie of his emotions since minor chords sound sad, aloof, negative whilst major chords are brighter and happier. it's a pretty dark song quite honestly especially if u consider a lot of their theories.
About RM:
He is, in fact, the leader and spokesperson of the group! You were spot on with that. The members often speak highly about his leadership skills (which anyone can clearly see if they watch even 1 interview of BTS. He's amazing as a leader).
He is also one of their main lyricist, and he's heavily involved with the making of BTS music. I can safely say he has credits for about 85% of their discography. So yeah, you would not be disappointed if you were ever to sit with him to talk about music.
Reflection was written during a time where he was struggling with his mental health, while gettinge extreme hatred on top of it. Namjoon has been on the receiving end of vicious attacks, and it is both heartbreaking and infuriating. A lot of his lyrics talk about his journey with his mental health, and Reflection is one of the stops in it.
For some songs like blood, sweat, and tears.. I would like to suggest that it's better to watch the official MV because BTS usually have theories and meaning hidden in their videos. ARMYs often come up with multiple theories by watching MVs and I think that you will have so much fun coming up with theories while listening, watching, and reading the lyrics on the official MV!!
I LOVEEE LOVEEE your reactions.. I've been following you since you first listened to BTS and I have never been disappointed with your amazing reactions because unlike other reactors who would just listen to the melody, you are actually reading the lyrics and interpreting as you like with your own imaginations!! I love watching you appreciate BTS's lyricism because they put a lot of effort into writing and producing every single song they put out!!
One of my favorite things about BTS discography is that they use a lot of references on their own songs (reuse in the best sense melodies) or lyrics. When you’ll dive into earlier stuff you’ll keep seeing things you’ve seen before. And it gives me so much joy and satisfaction.
P.S. Songs you’re not a fan of - listen to live version, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. And please see what spring day is about in your free time, I can’t listen to with dry eyes anymore.
a suggestion for if you wanna see more about their dynamics as a group (especially without the barrier of a foreign language like in their english interviews where namjoon usually does most of the talking), the boys have a variety show of their own called run bts that's available on vlive and weverse (the beginning episodes aren't on weverse, only after episode 90 ish i'm guesstimating). they do various fun activities like play/do obstacle courses with dogs, do an escape room, style an outfit for a random member etc. it's a very long series (100+ episodes with most of them being 40 ish minutes long, the earlier ones vary from 5-20 minutes long) so i wouldn't dare recommend it as a possibility for filming because it's just not possible but i think you'd really enjoy it in your personal time if you enjoy getting to know their personalities even more! :))
"My favorite part about BTS is..." - seems like you came across some of the same issues I have. I always end up mentioning sooo many reasons. haha. Wait till the day comes when you discover the next level of BTS through their music videos and the BU - a completely different storyline connected between music videos and albums. SOOOO COOOL.
Jhope's Mama is a song that always plays on Mother's days on radio stations in korea!
In Am I wrong? The animal reference that you talk about is Suga practically quoting a politician. They could had been blacklisted at that time for promoting that song. (there is a political context). Also the choreography is very satirical too. something similar could have happened when it came to spring Day (if we talk about the MV)
“2!3!” Is that song that will always get me emotional and I will always turn to on a bad day. I really think it’s alternate title really sums it up. “Hoping For More Good Days.”
BTS never promise everything is going to just magically be okay or ever get easy. They just want to be by our side and hope that there are more good days ahead. I find it super comforting. When I’m in a really dark headspace they remind to look forward to at least that one day I will have a good day again and that’s worth holding onto. But until then they will meet me where I’m at and ask me to smile just once while holding for more good days. I guess this song just always brings me hope.
Thank you so much for your video! I love your reactions a lot and you are so right about how different it is to listen to other artists after listening to BTS!!
Thank you so much Nalu! & I’m glad you understand the pain!
BTS often uses literary allusions found in Korean culture and literature:
e.g. desert/winter (times of despair or pain) and sea/spring (hope or healing)
flowery path(easy or comfortable journey without any hardship)
Back now with a full-length comment:
- Boy meets evil: J-Hooooooooope
- Blood Sweat and Tears is one of the first songs that brought about my obsession with Bts 💜
- Jk’s love and admiration for his hyungs is so endearing
- Lie (and the live version!!) is one of my fav songs ever. Jimin is a master at commanding this track.
- V’s smooth voice in this one… do I need to add anything?
- “Suga. Oh boy” I felt that. I think a perfect adjective for his raps is “raw”: his emotions are there, naked, for us to see and digest and process alongside ours.
- RM is a bright light indeed. His speeches just hit you and I agree with you: if him or BTS in general get any hate while they preach nothing but love, we are indeed screwed.
- Barely anyone talks about Jin’s voice enough, myself included. His vocals are so angelic though!
- To Jk singing is as natural as breathing, there is no other explanation and he keeps getting better and better.
- BTS Cyphers are indeed a special treat. They come at people but in such a classy way that if you were a heater you’re bound to respect them for the way they roasted you. 😆
- Am I wrong and 21st century girls are such profound bops!! They definitely grew on me over time.
- 2! 3! 💞 One the songs they dedicated to Army. This alone is enough to make me love it.
- Of all the MVs you’ve decided to break your heart with Spring day? Oh you poor soul. I don’t want to tell you what that pile of clothes means 💔
- I LOVE BLASTING NOT TODAY WHILE I’M DRIVING/EXCERSISING! I’m hyped just typing this.
- Outro wings gets even better live when you can hear clearly Jk and J-Hope’s armonising together, blessing our ears.
Experiencing BTS with you is always a pleasure, Michael. I had meant to go to bed early but oh well! 😆💜
1:11:43 what's funny is suga actually DOES talk about being "top of the food chain" in cypher pt.3 .. omg
That V's stigma high notes gave everyone goosebumps, some opera singers describe it as one of BTS best high notes if not the best and it's coming from their baritone singer , and he did plenty of times live!
"whats this" during Spring day the clothes pile... its inspired by Christian Boltanskis installation "Personnes". Very little in BTS mvs are random and they use ALOT of popculture, cultural and art references :) i love their MVs as a art nerd its one of the many things i love about them. And thank you for reacting its always a treat watching your album reactions. 💜
In Not today, the "run if you can't fly, walk if you can't run, crawl if you can't walk" are inspired by MLK's speech, and they refrence it agin in You never walk alone
spring day was one of the main reasons I became an army. I liked them, they were funny and everything but this song…that was it for me, they became my home. I connected with the song so much, specially in namjoons part where he says something like “it feels like winter here even though it’s August” because I lost my mom in that month so I like to say this is my song.
I love your analysis and perspective on the lyrics, it's SO good
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜x a million
you know their dynamics and their personalities so well at this point because what you said about namjoon (rm) was spot on! he is the official leader of the group and is basically fluent in english so he's the one that takes charge as translator and main speaker during their promotions outside of korea, which can often be a heavy burden for him. people often forget how young he was when bts debuted in 2013. he was 19 years old, having to take on the very difficult job of being a bridge between the members and the label/higher ups and also balancing his relationship with the members to the point of being professional and getting shit done but also staying close friends. i can't remember the exact source for it but in the past he often translated hate comments the members got in english as positive and kept all the hate to himself, which is also a heavy burden. i admire him so much, i don't think he'll ever understand/comprehend just how much he was vital to bts' success (as he constantly, and i mean constantly, downplays it)
Btw, you’re MORE THAN ACCEPTED as an ARMY member, welcome to the family 💜
love your new intro michael! your voice (i'm assuming this, please let me know if otherwise) sounds amazing! :D
It’s me!! Thank you SO much Jade that’s the nicest thing you could said to me🤍
Suga's First Love is one of my favourite songs on this album, and it is because of how armys know how his journey and passion of music was seriously full of obstacles (his parents not supporting him & how he got scammed when selling his produced songs before bts) and even the line especially the line bout his crushed shoulder he is actually talking about how when he first started pursuing music as a bts member he had to secretly work as a delivery guy for the money and had an accident on his bike which crushed his shoulder, and he hid it from the label afraid that they were gonna not let him complete his debut with bts but he had to tell them later on and they supported him.
Parts of First Love are the piano talking to Suga, and where there are 2 voices they talk to each other
2!3! is actually a song written and dedicated to ARMY. Its our first ever fan-dedicated song. It looks back on hardships BTS have gone through in the past (2013-2016) with ARMY while encouraging each other by saying “It’s alright, when I say ‘one two three,’ forget it. Erase all the sad memories. Hold my hand and smile,”. The flowery path in the lyrics refer to the journey of finding happiness together.
In an article it was said, "When '2! 3!' was released, BTS described it as “a song about the days that we went through together.” They said, “It conveys a sincere message we haven’t yet been fully able to say to our fans, who are always a source of great strength for us.”"
They always express their love for each other and to ARMY through music. :D
I LOVE how you described the way Yoongi raps and writes. I admire his passion so much.
First Love always got me so emotional and give me goosebumps all over my body. Is such a expressive song. We can feel his emotions towards piano/music so clearly. In some part i don't even interpreted as passion, but as despair, especially knowing how he struggled with mental healthy at some points in his life. Like, music was his way to cope with everything. Just so poetic and beautiful.
9:11 very interesting point you bring up about the word choice for naming the intro song "boy" meets evil insead of man, this is basically related to how the entire wings album is inspired by the novel “Demian” by Hermann Hesse!
You know a reactor is great, when I've just spend 1 hour, 47 minutes and 13 seconds watching and wishing it was waaay longer.
Sorry for spamming the comment section with a lot of comments. I got excited. There's so much I want to say/explain, but I'm sure other ARMYs will have amazing things to say and likely more eloquently and informative, so I will refrain for more spam.
Thank you so much for you and everything you do. It means a lot and makes me happy. Have an amazing weekend and be good to yourself.
oh yes Jimin's iconic high note in Am I wrong is fkin insane!
I don't know if anyone has answered this already but I thought I'd put in my 2 cents: "Chu" is onomatopoeia for the sound of a kiss. It's used a lot in Japanese comics/manga-which is where I know it from-and the market for manga in S. Korea is pretty big, although not as big as the homegrown webtoons probably. So yeah, Hobi is telling the haters to kiss the sole of his shoe 😆
please NEVER stop doing this video like i would literally watch you react to bts albums for 5 hours straight
You should watch the explanation video for spring day mv it's really important.
Jimin's lie is one of my favorite songs ever because of how relatable it is , he lied to himself so much drowned himself in self critisms and doubts that he got swolloed up in those thoughts...
Thank u for this video i love your reactions so much
i would love to see your reaction to "bts spring day mv explained" by bulletproof vibes, because i think you'd thoroughly appreciate the message and the effort put into the music video, as well as the many hidden meanings put in there! i loved your interpretation of the song!!
I just want to say that I absolutely love that you do a quick research if you're curious about something concerning lyrics or artists themselves. Your reactions are so genuine unlike other people here on RUclips who just do a quick video and sometimes don't even talk about the video itself at all. We all appreciate it.💜
1:16:13 suga mentioned pigs and dogs and that’s a reference of a politician who belittled korean citizen calling them pigs and dogs. Every Korean would know what “pigs and dogs” means. My English is not good so if you don’t get what i’m saying you can search internet for more information
i'm really glad you enjoyed and connected with begin so much! a lot of older armys (not in age but in years of being an army) connect and feel with jungkook so much because a lot of them were a similar age to him when bts were first debuting (he's born in 97, so he was 15 turning 16 when they debuted in 2013, i think he left busan [his home] for seoul when he was around 13 years old) and it felt like as jungkook was growing and learning with the boys, so were armys. i think that's why a lot of armys often have a soft spot for him that goes beyond the typical/professional fan/idol relationship. it amazes me everyday just how young he was when he first met the boys because a 13 year old kid knows absolutely nothing about themselves, nevermind the world , and it really puts into perspective just how much impact the other members have had on his life. and even though some of the boys were only a couple of years older than him and still kids themselves, the amount of responsibility and maturity they displayed in caring for him so deeply and showing him the way when they could have so easily become that "unreachable/intimidating" older brother type figure is aweing. lord knows every army has seen how much pressure jungkook puts on himself as jungkook™, member of bts, so i'm so glad that he has these people who know him so well and are able to step in and reassure him whenever the going gets tough :) (it also makes me tear up a little when i think about how very soon jungkook will have spent more of his life with the members than without)
in case you don't know, for some added perspective to Awake and the 6 flowers - Jin is the oldest member of BTS and everyone's hyung, which is a big deal in Korean culture. but in his own family he's the youngest son.
56:26 AH YES you're one of the few people that I've watched who caught that ! The flowers representing the 6 other members
im really tearing up over your genuine reaction to begin. their relationship is so pure I'm so glad u get to experience it
Who is taking one for the crew and explaining Spring Day mv and how hauntingly beautiful it is?
in Cypher 4 the drum refers to the korean saying about someone being the 'neighbourhood drum' which basically means being the local punching bag for others to take their frustrations out on.
If you wanna appreciate Blood Sweat and Tears in its full glory, you HAVE to watch the music video. It's an auditory, visual, art, and everything else combined in one.
PS All their solo songs are also artistically portrayed as short films if you have the time ;)
Okay I commented this before you explained why you don't react to MVs but I feel like BST MV will be such a treat for you (of course, on your own pace and time!) Also yes, there's always a lot happening in BTS music videos ;)
You have such a way of articulating my exact thoughts about bts! I’m so impressed with basically this full commentary you give with such specific points and in depth exploration. The way you experience the music is so amazing! I love listening along with you 😁
Idk if someone already told you about this in this video, but there's something called BTS Universe, with a really complex (maybe) storyline. This album has a lot of reference about it. Each solo song is referencing to themselves in the story line, though, of course, in case of some members is relate to their personal life as well! For example, in awake, when Jin sing "I hold the 6 flowers tightly in my hands", is a reference for his role in the BU.
I think u would enjoy watching the short films from the solo songs, u don't even need to understand the storyline to appreciate how good theses short films are.
Love this album reaction. It gives me smile all along. And you're right, they're so on point when they connect their songs lyrics one another. Like on "not today" they say "if you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, walk. And if you can't walk, crawl" and how they turn it into "baby crawl, crawl like it like that; baby walk, walk like it like that; baby run run it like that; baby fly fly it like that" in "supplementary story: you never walk alone". It's so smooth
Check out Rise of Bangtan after you finish their 1st album. Just don't won't to give you any spoilers 😉
It's an amazing army edited documentary that takes their existing content and putting it into a timelines and tells their stories. There's like 20 chapters, but you won't regret watching them
I have literally just binge-watched all your reactions to BTS’s albums - I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for you to react to and review “The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever” … This series of albums was a big turning point in BTS’s career & helped launch them into worldwide fame!
Not even exaggerating I think this is the best reaction and analyzing channel on yt and belive me I watched a lot of reation channels on this platform
As deep BTS’ lyricism goes, their music videos have so much elements in them as well. AND yes! their choreography they’re able to do so well every time is just as impressive. overall so talented, sometimes it makes me mad because they are good in SO MUCHH
they really do deserve where they are now
The wings album emotionally broke me down in many ways. And their following albums have helped build me back up in some areas. I have a long way to go. As a former musician who did find such passion & love with music young, Suga's First Love had me weeping. I wanted to pull out my instrument and just hug it.
Also, even though you say you won't react to the music videos much because of concentration I still HIGHLY recommend reacting to the MV for Blood, Sweat, & Tears. There's a lot of detail and story telling that you just can't get from the music alone.
first i want to admit that you are the only one i watch reacting to bts as an army. i just love how genuinely curious you are and how you feel all the stories, emotions and lyrics and try to understand each and every message in every song, so thank you. and secondly i want to say that when you say that it is your dream to sit down with bts and talk with them i just cant stop thinking how it would be so nice. in so many interviews generally they are being asked about this and that but not mostly about their deep music, their messages and love for music. for nearly 6 years i know that those boys have a bond with their music. they do it for living not in a way of words but its a way of keeping in life. and with a person who has that kind of a relationship with music and actually tries to understand, feel and see. everything would be different. ALSO about your comment on mama (jhopes song) you said that u were thankful that it wasnt a sad song and i agree ahhaha hoseok has that energy turns even the saddest or deepest things to the bright and full of hope. in the most dark sounds and onws you can sense the brightness in him💕thank U FOR THE VIDEO and watching the mvs was so much more effective hope u continue to watch them🥰
Just came home from work. Perfect video and album for a stressful day
this is the first time we ever got solos from them so it was A MOMENT back in 2016. Blood Sweat and Tears was really revolutionary within the korean industry lol.
Also 1,2,3! is an oficial song for ARMY!!
Spring day has a really impactful meaning once you reserch a little more into it, it has references to a korean tragedy that's very heartbreaking. Am I Wrong is one of their more political songs by far, it's very on the nose, i'm sure doolset has a great explanation for it
The earlier era has a song called Baepsae (crow tit) so you'll get more of that word in the future lol
I loved that you could watch some MVS! You should definitely do a whole video of just music videos, maybe of songs you already know (Blood Sweat and Tears, Fake Love, Boy With Luv, DNA, etc)
Thanks for the reaction!! most armys rlly dont mind long videos so dont worry haha
One of my favorite live concert stories with BTS is during the wings tour, in Brazil when Namjoon was sing reflection and gets to the part where he says "I wish I could love myself" the Brazilian army would chant back "WE LOVE YOU" so loudly to the point that the last night there he changed the lyrics to "now I do love myself" and army at all the following shows continued the chant as well.
Listening to begin-lie-stigma back to back is just... wow.
Its an experience✨💜
i like how you actually wonder and search for the things, this makes me really happy as an army. thank you for that and this reaction. will wait for more :)
You were veryyyyyy spot on about RM because he happens to be the leader of the group. He truly got this aura and charisma about him, as you said he is wise beyond his years and it shows.
He got a lot on his shoulders from a very young age, he went through a lot as the leader, as an artist...etc.
He grew beautifully.
Looking forward to see you deep dive more into them :) Thank you for taking your time to learn about them
From the way you analyze their lyrics so perfectly I just know you'd be an absolutely great interviewer to them. One that they'd truly be appreciative of and not be dying for the interview to end. I'd love to see it happen too.
Thank you for taking the time to listening, reading and understanding their song, their music, to them (as a member and a group).
Hope you have a great day!
First Love is the only song that can make me cry on demand, no matter how many times I've heard it. The entire Wings album has a death grip on me, to the point where i can't chose favorites. This album will be with me til my dying day
when i hear awake, i can't help but cry. jin sees his brothers as flowers with petals that can fly and he kept saying he's been walking and wants to run more despite not being able to "fly." it's saying he doesn't feel like he's as great as his brothers, in his eyes. but, he's always trying. as jin once said, "my hardwork is for me alone to know..." and look at jin now? he's soaring. 😭 to me, he's always been.
sigh. i love this album and every single song. bts is life. 💜
"Let's walk on the flower path" is a literary expression used when you wish all the best for someone in the future
Now you know the attraction to performances by BTS. The choreo and passion is amazing. They do these dances while singing in concert. If you can catch some live performances in the future I think you will love it.
i love that little detour you took with the word 형 (hung). my favorite thing about listening to music in languages other than english or from cultures other than my own is getting moments like that where i can discover words and sentiments that don’t exist in english. familial titles in korean are so intricate and important, not just within families but in how their used with people outside of blood relations, whether those relationships are close or complete strangers.
hyung is a way to refer to a close person older then u, so all bts members are jungkooks hyungs, because he's the youngst. it's like "big brother". we don't translate it very often bcs its something too particular of the language. (sorry about my English tho hahah)
Spring Day is one of the most powerful songs in general. If you want, you can dedicate a whole video about it. My friend actually spent 2 months writing a college essay on spring day alone. BTS put a target on their backs when they released Spring day. They risk not only their musical careers but their LIVES w Spring Day bc it was a song against their own South Korea president at the time. Like I can't emphasize this enough, when you truly deep dive into Spring Day, you would know why it's one of the many reasons why BTS stands out among artists in general. Am I wrong is also a "fuck you" to their government during the ferry incident. They performed it at risk of getting blacklisted.
I always enjoy watching you discover BTS' artistry and strong lyricism. I am a 46 year old ARMY and it was their music and lyrics that got me hooked since 2014. I knew they were different. So young and so deep and relatable no matter what age you are.
As impressed as we are we their musicality and lyricism, when you watch their live performances, it really astounds you. Again they are at another level compared to any other artists out there. So, I really do hope you do some reactions to their live performances.
you are one of, if not my favorite person that has reacted to bts. you pick up on so many of the great things about their music AND can feel their personalities and sincerity through JUST the music. if i’ve ever wanted a person to react to their music videos, introduction videos, and personalities it would be you. i dunno if you do other videos besides music reactions, but i’m telling you right now everyone who watches the album reactions on bts, will Absolutely watch the shit out of you seeing the rest of their talents and charms within all of their content! i look forward to these so much, so thank you for the effort you put into this!!
