underworld 2 was not better and neither was br2049, John wick 2 was also disspointing, The third was really good
Feels like you just named sequels rather than better ones 😂😂😂
I have the Mighty Ducks sequel on VHS
French Canadian
My favorite sequels
1. The Lost World Jurassic Park
2. Home Alone 2
3. Ace Ventura 2
4. TMNT 2
5. Friday the 13th 2
6. Halloween 2
7. Austin Powers 2
8. I still know what you did last summer
9. Godzilla King of the monsters
10. Creed 2
You can’t really compare Alien and Aliens because the movies are two different genres of horror. People can prefer either for multiple reasons. They’re also both really good, and if you haven’t already, I urge you to watch both of them (not alien 3, that one kinda sucked).
Alien 3 killed of Newt (from Aliens) for no reason.
Yeah, one's a slower burn survival scifi horror, the other more an action flick. So great the both of them, I can't put one over the other
@@assembled1855 False. Newt was killed off because pre-production draft writer Vincent Ward (along with subsequent scriptwriters) found the character annoying. Furthermore, her death (along with that of Cpl. Hicks and, to some extent, the destruction of the android Bishop) served as a means of creating intense personal loss for Ripley, which would in turn fuel her need to embark on a quest for redemption. Finally, _Alien³_ takes place on a prison planet, which is no place for _children!_ No; they belong on the battle-ravaged, Xenomorph-infested hellscape of LV-426!
Cameron should be on there for Aliens because he did something different from the first film but still awesome. Most people wanted to make the same film again, but he did something no one else wanted to do and that's why it worked.
I get what your saying about different genera but the video is only about sequels so it doesn't matter if there different genera you can still pick both apart in a way where it doesn't come down to preference of genera just to how the movie came out
Top 5 sequels that surpasses the original for me
1. The dark knight
2. Empire strikes back
3. Terminator 2
4. Winter soldier
5. Aliens
T2: Judgement Day for the win over Empire Strikes Back?! Didn’t see that coming! Great choice!
As much of a meme as the franchise is, Shrek 2 is not only better than the first, but one of the best animated movies of all time
Yesssss
We need Top 10 Live Action Movie Sequels that should be adapted from Direct-To-Video animated movies.
💥
How did "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" not even get a mention?
I’ve been looking for this comment. It’s one of the best sequels imo.
Not above Return of the King.
I've never considered that a sequel since those films were always made clearly as 3 parts to a whole. Each movie isn't really its own story to where a new foundation needs to be built for the sequel, they're basically one big movie.
How is Lethal Weapon 2 not on this list? It's easily the best of the series, and far and away better the 1st.
No, it's not.
good call! awesome movie that!
Lethal Weapon 3 and 4 was also better than the original
The godfather 2 was undoubtedly great , but godfather 1 was slightly better than that and also how come there's no TWO TOWERS???A good list otherwise.
When they say “sequel” I think they mean the second movie
@@somerandofromoregon When I say two towers , I think I mean the second movie of LOTR🙂
Because the Fellowship of the Ring was better ;)
Then again spin-off / reboot directed by Travis Knight Bumblebee was way better than the other Transformers films, a lot more better received than the others
Great movie, but not as good as the original
YES. It felt like transformers. Not just because of the 80s setting, but it had more heart I wanna say. That and the original animated are just at the top
Agreed. Nothing beats the original film, but was impressed with bumblebee. Actually looked like bumblebee
No
@@tiffprendergast are you saying Travis night was worse than Michael Bay?
When it comes to #1, Arnold's Terminator is the only character to appear in both the American Film Institute's lists of the top 50 movie heroes and villains. Sigourney Weaver also made the hero list for "Aliens". You aldo forgot to mention she even got an Oscar nomination for best actress for her performance in that, a rare achievement for sci-fi movies.
Request: Top 10 watchmojo's top 10s that fans are disagree with
I just started the video and you said no Fury Road, but Road Warrior better be on the list
Make the Top 20 Best Third movie sequel of All time
Terminator 2 came out when I was in primary school and for FOUR years, all I could hear about was how much I was missing out.
They were right, though.
Addams Family Values > Addams Family (even tho the first one is still great)
Yup
Joan Cusack should have won an Oscar
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls > Pet Detective
False.
In many ways yes, and maybe just for the Rhino birthing scene!
Nah.
@@WatchMojo I said false, guys.
That movie was nowhere near as good as the first one
The T-1000 is one of the most menacing villains ever
Me: **Laughs in T-1Million**
some other times I think the Sequel is better than the original is Shrek 2, Toy Story 2, and Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest.
Blade runner 2049
Terminator 2
Aliens
Top Gun Maverick
I'm not surprised my favorite sequel didn't make the list. I love Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (both the book and movie), but its so underrated.
The mystery of the Chamber is so compelling. Not to mention the similarities between Harry and Tom Riddle.
Yeah I wonder why is this underrated... Maybe because this is one of the worst Harry Potter books?
#1: tHe DArk KnIgHt
Pretty surprised it was #4 lol
@@lightendavoid5060 you were close
@Jose Moran It might be lacking in some areas but damn if it ain't better than Batman Begins, that one was pretty meh imo
Is the weakest of that trilogy
@Jose Moran exactly!! Ledger was amazing, but his character is just there because Nolan said so. There is no payoff at the end of the story, the inconsistencies are blatant and the pacing is all over the place. Batman Begins is by far the best in the trilogy.
Batman Returns, Terminator 2, The Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back are the 4 movies that instantly jumped into my brain
I hope winter soldier is on here that’s my fav mcu movie
Okay so it was on there, but it was lower than Paddington 2? Smh
Padding 2 is a master piece and so is winter soldier both in my top 10
I know right it's ridiculous
actually i thought The Terminator, Star Wars, The Godfather, Spider-Man, Batman Begins, The Lord of the Rings (Fellowship and Two Towers), and 21 Jump Street were all better than their sequels.
Jaaames Cameron, the bravest pioneer.
No budget too steep, no sea too deep.
Who's that? Its him. James Cameron
And he had to screwed with Dark Fate
South Park lol
@@javiersantanaaviles5885 Not sure how much of that film is actually Cameron's idea.
@@Paulafan5 Well he was the one with the idea of killing Connor, after all he made the script
The Dark Knight immediatelly occured to me when I read the title.
Edit: aaahh it is on the list
When they showed the Spider-Man 2 clip at the start of Superman 2’s position I though they just made a mistake.
Who else saw the thumbnail and thought, “T2 is gonna be number 1”?
Ooh, what if they left T2 off the list to troll every song one. 😂
No sequel will ever come close to how better and awesome Terminator 2 is
*how much better
There's better
22 Jump Street killed me. Especially when the girl was clowning him about how old he looked lol. And D3 Mighty Ducks.
Nailed the number 1 choice. T1 was good. T2 was amazing.
Batman Returns deserves an honourable mention. Great film that was better than the original (which was still good mind you)
Nice video! What about VectraCoin algorithm review?
*JOHN WICK 2* 🥰
No. John wick 3
@@Roeclean Both!
Thank you for including Paddington 2.
Whenever I see gremlins 2 I think of key & peele skit
That immediately came to mind for me too
When Wolverine said "You picked the wrong house Bub!", I immediately thought of Big Smoke from GTA San Andreas. 😆
you guys make me want to watch rush hour now
It seems this video was made 18 months too early. Because now, Top Gun: Maverick has joined these ranks.
I disagree on Godfather 2 being better than 1 tbh, outside of the vito scenes i think it's way weaker
I prefer the second part
You break my heart beatingstuff88!
Part 2 is good, but no way is better than The Godfather. Part 1 is pure classic, like a Mozart piece.
I believe John Wick deserves an honorable mention, but I agree with the number 1 pick.
