COMMUNARDS You Are My World (New York '87 Remix)

"You Are My World" was the debut single from Communards, following Jimmy Somerville's departure from Bronski Beat earlier that year. The single was re-issued in 1987 (prior to the start of the "Red" campaign) and was remixed twice. This is the version from the Limited edition 12", that (to my knowledge) has yet to appear on CD. It was only released in the UK and Canada, despite the title of "New York Mix". Of all the mixes of this song (and there are many) this is by far my favorite. The video footage I chose is a combination of both versions of the "You Are My World" video.

I loved this when I first heard it. I found it in a record store that was going out of business in the early 90s,. I didn't even know it existed until then. I remember getting chills with that opening steel drum, I'm a sucker for a tropical sound!

Hi there came across this while searching communards..there is another 87 12" remix out at the same time different sleeve but labelled you are my world 87.. do you have it..? ..cheers
