What's been really great about the FT transfers of Scopitones is not just the PQ, but also how rich and clean the music sounds. Way better than the muffled, muddy transfers we've put up with for years.
I think the music may have been taken directly from the album releases; I listened to the album track and the Scopitone of "Peppermint Twist", and they're both exactly the same. It's literally the best quality copy of the music available.
The copyright date reads '1950'. Timi Yuro was born in 1940 (and died in 2004 from throat cancer). NO WAY is she 10 years old in this clip. The song 'If' and the album it comes from were released in 1964. Epic typo on that title card.
@@Movie-Tech I didn't know the song went back that far, but the song didn't really become popular until 1950 and 1951 when it was a #1 hit for Perry Como (and also recorded by many others). Maybe the copyright was renewed at that time. Whatever the case, I think the copyright on the Scopitone has something to do with when the song became famous. It may even be that the people who made the card didn't realize the song was written earlier.
I hope there are many more of these Scopitone films to come. The two I have listened to featured great music that I wouldn't have found otherwise.
I hope you remaster all the American Scopitone videos. The quality is absolutely incredible, and I've been watching Scopitones for decades.
Timi Yuro was and remains amazing thanks to this scopitone
I love how on the nose this is

The song was written and copyrighted in 1950.
@@TomElvisSmith written/copyright 1934 (I’ve seen the sheet music). Recorded dozens of times since.

Insert 10 cents to continue.
This is from 1966 not 1950
This was before MTV and VH1.
The hell you say! Unreal.
