I love my PS portal, I can access all the games I already have and play it on the go vs buying a new PSP and having to buy separate games for it.
Honestly I hated on the portal so much. Trashed it. For whatever reason decided to buy one and now I’m in LOVE with it. It’s definitely my preferred way to play my ps5 especially since I love handhelds and I remote play very often.‘it’s a great device. Not for everyone but definitely a great device
How is it with multiplayer games
I’m using my iPad with remote play installed & I have controller connected via Bluetooth.
I have my ps5 connected to the lan cable at home & have great wifi outside of home.
Works amazing & now I save money from not paying Xbox game pass anymore.
this still looks beautiful & I might consider one.
I fucking LOVE my portal. It’s just a nice piece of technology to have as an add on to the ps5. Though I would absolutely give all my money for a new PSVita
Same I got the backbone a few weeks ago and I used it once and pretty much gonna throw it out… straight ass
The portal is amazing and btw if you can plug in your Ps5 directly to lan internet it will be way smoother (order a extension cord if your internet is in another room) it will be worth it
Best way to have the PS5 connected. Direct connection over Ethernet
So apart from the physical aspect between portal and PSN remote play on tablet/ backbone....is there any difference in lag and gameplay experience?
@@azam3840No, there is no difference at all.
You could get a bigger size tablet and use your Dualsense for less money and get the same experience.
The only difference would be haptic feedback support or rather the lack thereof.
I guess none of you have a computer or ipad, the PlayStation app has been around for years now and the duel sense controller works perfectly with the computer or ipad, the portal is a solution to a problem that didn’t exist.
I decided on the backbone and have zero complaints. When i can’t play my ps5 games (due to not being at home by the system) I play the Xbox, Apple Arcade, and steam games. Mad hard 🔥🔥🔥
You made the wrong choice back bone is ass.. I love my portal it’s amazing so smooth I was playing while driving
@@Rajonrondoo99lol its not ass, it runs better than my portal. Which is why I just sold the POS yesterday. Backbone or even the Odin 2 running the ps remote app is 10x better per my experience.
Please don't compare backbone with portal lol
Were you using the latest Backbone 2.0 with a iPhone 15 Pro Max?? The difference in screen size is only 1.3”….
@@DKN808 latest black one with a iPhone 13 and it was garbage
I think it’s great. Works perfectly for a few hours on the sofa, whilst the wife watches some 💩 on TV.
A great way for everyone to enjoy their time.
I gather it may work well when on the toilet doing a 💩. 😂
@@nicktubara you can get a good hour in on trap 2, before you can nolonger feel your legs.
My ps portal makes the best bed gaming ever. I was using the backbone till the portal. This thing is amazing and love taking it with me when I see the family and friends. Works perfectly and is the perfect size and screen is downright beautiful for an LCD. One of the best portables on the market without all the confusing bells and whistles.
I actually like this portal. You don’t have to buy more games or anything. And 9 time out of 10 You have internet connection
I have it’s good when the internet is good . When it’s bad it’s aggravating but when you think about it doing good you forget about taking it back from where were you bought it
Bro do you know english
Uh huh...
I want to be able to play something like this in hotels, but if I can’t connect to hotel WiFi it’s useless to me. Thats a serious bummer
I love it had mine for about one month
I was lucky enough to buy 12/23/23 at GameStop they were sold out everywhere but I found one at GameStop I love the portal I look at it as a companion to my PS5 I ignore the negative reviews it works exactly what it was tended to do I'm going to buy another one for my granddaughter.
It’s useless
for me I see it as something that has such a good conceptional idea, but failed to make it work for me, I know very compact and you shouldn't exspect power in it enough to play properly, but I think having a console like this that has it's own power and game possibility NEXT to doing what it does now would be better, like the PSP for instance, but then with the features of this portal.
I wish they would combine the PSP and the PS5 and give a true portable solution not just remote play
agreed!@@TKBay
@@TKBaysurely they’ll update to allow cloud gaming, especially with how popular it appears to be this Christmas.
Be a lot more money be great if it could
I bought the Playstation Portal twice! I bought it. It felt fantastic in hand... I tried to play some games and there was some stuttering here and there on day one. I have what id consider the best internet in my area. 856 mbps download and 887 mbps upload. Day three the stuttering was so bad I had to sit in the same room as my PS5 to get any kind of good connection. My first was returned within the first week of owning it. I saw it come back in stock at Best Buy so I jumped in line to order as I heard that there had been updates making the experience better. I only owned the 2nd one for two days. I am sad, it could have been perfect. It felt so good in hand but they left us wanting....
If you're playing on the same wifi as your ps5, your internet speeds don't matter. Router throughput and congestion would be the concern.
@@MidwestPyro55 Just my PS5 and my Portal were on it both times.
It's due to the PS5 output being at 59.94Hz and the Portal's output being at 60Hz for remote play. Someone discovered it on Reddit, and is trying to spread awareness about it. Another person also contacted PlayStation Poland Support. There's a stutter every 10 seconds.
I wish you could’ve troubleshooted it more. When I turned mine on and started playing, I was HIGHLY concerned and very worried. The quality was awful, and the stuttering was unbearable. But with a few changes- my experience was transformed. Now I can’t believe how good it is, and I’ve been playing on it, even still when the TV has been free to use.
@@ShaneAllenTV They came back in stock at Best Buy. I bought it again March 29th, and it seems to not be having any stuttering issues. ^_^
I picked one up a few days ago when the amazon and best buy dropped their orders.
My network setup is solid compared to most and I don't expect everyone to have the same network. I have the ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 connected with 10g port to a 10g switch which then connects to a multigig switch that has a 10g uplink which is were the ps5 is connected. My mesh network is the GT6 that is connected via a 2.5 gig lan. Any bottleneck is ultimately removed as much as possible. I still see stutter from time to time and ultimately it's not all network. It could be the cpu itself that isn't able to handle the load perfectly. And this behavior is identical with my Ipad and PC remote play.

Would I be able to be In a completely different house to use it for like travel?
Sadly Sony has missed the mark with the PS Portal.
As first party they had the chance to offer more than the PS Remote App experience.
The screen looks quite alright for what it is, but the actual experience is alright at best, but for the amount of money asked it's just not great.
So you can’t connect another controller for 2 players?
I find it useful, as you said not for everyone, and you mentioned about the headset, I am using a cheap EasySMX wireless ones that I would like to hear your opinion about it, are USB type C so I don't know if that will work here but at least plugged directly to the console, so if you have a chance and find it on a good price (I got it for 25 USD on Amazon during Black Friday)
for sure, and yea we have many option already, this just makes it easy for me to go around and use it or have my son use it and not take my phone with it. thanks for checking out the video
Congratulations! I have this problem: when I try to connect my PS Portal in different places, where the provider is the same as mine and the routers +/- are the same: TP-LINK, then nothing works. For example, I connected it at home - everything is fine. I connect at a friend's place or at work (same provider and similar router) - it does not connect. Everything is connected with other providers and routers. So why does this provider allow you to connect at home, but not in other places?😵💫. Please tell me what to do in this situation?
One of the main things companies do is they block certain ports and route data differently than won't be used for home routers. So if you're trying to connect to it at work. My first question would be is. Can you connect to twitch? Can you connect to gaming sites? They may be blocked and therefore the protocol may not work like the way you have it at home
@@TKBay Thanks, all fine with gaming sites... When I try to connect to Wi-fi of the same provider (in another plase), the Portal says: something wrong...
i just don’t understand the comments in this section, the portal is a solution to a problem that didn’t exist, people have been playing their PlayStations remotely for years now on iPads and computers and large phones, duel sense controllers connect seamlessly to all of them, so what exactly is different other than you guys just trying to justify your purchase?
The casual gaming crowd usually have shitty spending habits and Sony is proving it by making this useless product. So yea they grasp at straws to justify their purchase lmfao
@quesoritoandablunt I'm not a pro gamer but I'd say more than casual as I've been off and on for decades. For me as a father with one large TV in main living room that has my ps5. This device has been amazing so far. Yes I've tried remote play on my phone and iPad, even bought a phone holder for my dualsense. This has just been so much better and more enjoyable. The dualsense feel and nice big screen is great.
I have a question, so what if you’re ps5 is unplug, can you still play you’re ps5 games on the portable if you connect you’re ps5 on you’re phone
So it’s exactly the the PlayStation remote play on my phone
Im having my problem with my! That can’t let me play 😢 I need some help please! Don’t connect with my play and when I tried to play FIFA online that freeze and disconnect to my console … and again and again the same problem.
So you can't really play it as it in Rest mode at all then?
Could anyone assist me? I'm encountering an issue with remote play on my PlayStation portal. It functions flawlessly on my laptop while connected to my work Wi-Fi, but it's not working on my PS Portal device. When both the PS5 and Portal devices are on the same home network, remote play functions without any problems. However, I'm eager to use it during my breaks at work, and it's proving to be a challenge. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! (and no my web browser at work does not require extra log ins)
They could have gone for a husk Wi-Fi without internet type of internet for local access instead of fully relying on internet connection. My ear wax picker that cost $30 bucks figured out while Sony still using run of the mill internet streaming 😂
Can someone be playing a different game at home while you’re playing a different game at the same time
Only on PS6
Whats the name of the intro song?
What is the recommended internet speed for this ?
At least 24 down and 15 up
Yes
Scalpers have ruined it again for us in much of nyc
Do i need to have ps5 to have this or i can just buy without having ps5
Did you even watch the review?
How To Play Games On The Go For PS5
Can the PS portal run apps like RUclips from the menu
Does it have any delay?
When playing on a good wifi, no delay at all
Rubbish i have it and it stutters really bad at times. When it works its ok but half the time its not enjoyable to use.
Can i buy it off you@@jonnyy1495
Do you need a ps5 console to work this
Yes
@@redskinsnation5570not really you can use a gaming laptop
Say it with me… PlayStation PORTAL. It’s not portable. This will never be a true PSP.
can you use it without a ps5
Yes but you need a gaming laptop
And they're mostly more expensive than a ps5
I thought is was like the Nintendo switch😢
More like a Wii U
Same
So what happens when controller buttons, sticks, etc fail? 😂
Lol damn I ain't think about it like that. I assume ya just buy another one🤔🤣🤣
@@NewEra314 damn lmao
well, they’re mop play on your smartphone is very easy to do it’s just an app it’s pretty much the same as this second Leah if your TV is occupied, haven’t you beat the man that’s on your TV off of it and what kind of family only has one TV I have never been into a house that had only one TV my whole entire life going into peoples houses having friends they always had multiple TVs with either multiple PlayStation or one PlayStation in the main gaming room that no one watches TV here. I’m sorry if you’re too poor to own two TVs, you shouldn’t be buying this piece of junk let alone buying a gaming console clearly you’re too broke and you don’t need all that
I did mods on my ps portal, ya'll can check it out.
