Steve & Peggy // Found a Way Around it

The fact that Steve Rogers thinks he’s dying and his instinct is to talk about a date with her to comfort Peggy.
The fact that Steve just woke up 70 years later- friends and family all believed to be gone and his remaining time with them stolen. In a foreign future of the world he’s always known. And his first thought is that he’d miss his date with Peggy and never see her again.
The fact that Peggy thinks the love of her life is gone for good and she’ll never see him again and she keeps a picture of him on her dresser to look at every day as she gets dressed.
The fact that Steve is on the phone with Peggy as he thinks he’s dying and pulls out a picture of her he keeps in his compass to look at her and feel close to her in what he thinks are his last moments of life.
The fact that no girl ever looked at Steve twice before the serum except Peggy Carter who fell so in love with him that she keeps a picture of Pre-serum Steve as a keepsake.
The fact that to be taken seriously amongst men in her life, Peggy has always walked around guarded, keeping her vulnerabilities hidden and always refusing to open up to anyone except for Steve.
These two just make me so emotional. I’m so happy they got their happy ending. ❤️
