Honestly I’d prefer unknown actors across the board. This can become a phenomenon like GOT. Also, I’m pretty sure Brando has said that he wants to cameo in every Cosmere movie as someone who dies.
I'm so unbelievably disappointed that we can never get Lance Reddick as Sazed. Edit: I think it was Murphy Napier that introduced me to the idea of Matt Berry being cast as Breeze, and I can't see anyone else in the role now.
One of the reasons I think Sanderson likes Dave Bautista is beacuse of his asian decent. The Kholins and Alethi in general are an asian culture and ethnicity. At first I wasnt a fan, but then i imaged him without tattoos and speaking with a different tone then he does in guardians and I think he could actually do it. Assuming he can act haha. I originally had Brolin in my head for two books, then I found out they were written to be portrayed more asian by sanderson and I couldnt imagine brolin anymore.
Bautista's dramatic work is brilliant, you guys seriously need to check them out. His character in Blade Runner 2049 even inspired a character in Joe Abercrombie's Age of Madness.
You guys are all hilarious! I guess I'll have to check out 2ToRamble now! As you were discussing who Zindya could be, Vin popped into my head, and now I can't think of a better role for her! Also, if Christopher Walken has to be in a Cosmere story, he should be the Sleepless from Edgedancer, but only because the thought of him interacting with Lift makes me want to smile!
To me, Henry Cavill as Wax and a younger Hugh Jackman as Kelsier would be the PERFECT castings. Henry has the right amount of comedic timing to fit the tone and banter with Wayne, and Hugh would crush the optimistic yet dark duality that Kelsier has. And Denis Villeneuve directing Mistborn or Stormlight movies would be the DREAM (and with a Hans Zimmer soundtrack... chef's kiss). It was all I could think about while I was watching Dune 2. Also, I know this was just a fun "let's see which famous hollywood actors would fit which role" kind of video but it'd be fun to see all of you guys attempt a more ethnically accurate fan cast. There's not a lot of those out there.
I would like to see David Battista as Sadeas or Hammond from mistborn. But I think he did really good job in Bladerunner 2048, I would say he also has that range for playing Dalinar, but he is bald, and I don’t want to see a bald Dalinar.
Also I remember BrandoSando has gone on record on his podcast with Dan Wells saying he wants his cameo to be a random soldier on the wall of Cett’s keep during Mistborn The Well of Ascension witnessing Vin and Zane as they go on their rampage
Still watching, you guys are discussing Brandon now. He’s said he would want to do cameos in his movies and always die a horrible death on screen, to make up for the things he puts his characters through in his books. He’ll let his characters take their revenge on him :)
The Rock as Tonk Fah. He gets to play the fun, jokey character that everyone loves. No one will see the twist coming. He used to play a Heel when he was wrestling, so the evil turn is something he has experience with.
Great collab! 2 of my favorite booktubes channels collabing, I was expecting yall to do a collab eventually and this is a great topic! Also, I think I gave Jaden the idea of Josh brolin as Dalinar hehe
I love both of your channels and I fully understand this is a fun little video not to be taken entirely serious... but also common guys the vast majority of the cosmere is POC and you cast mostly white people xD Brandon has confirmed that pretty much all of east Roshar are Asian (South East Asian for the Alethi; Korean/Japanese for the Vedens and Theylens; Azish are Central African, Herdazians Latino) the only race in Roshar that is confirmed as Caucasian are the Shin. Other planets aren't as confirmed in their ethnic features, however it's pretty much assumed that Scadrial is European (French) with the Terris being darker skinned (no confirmation on parallel earth ethnicity). I'd assume based on reading Warbreaker that the ethnicity in that book is mostly Medditerranian/Middle-Eastern.
It’s definitely tough to find perfect actors!! We went with the Hollywood standard of choosing whoever regardless of perfect ethnic match… and unfortunately no Alethi actors were available :/
@@NextChapterYT There are lots of Asian actors, Hiroyuki Sanada is my ideal fancast for Dalinar. He has the gravitas. "Hollywood standard" lmao aka raceswapping, God forbid they do that in any form to the cosmere.
@@NextChapterYT it doesn’t take much time to google Asian male actors. There are multiple links with long lists of famous male actors. Saying “unfortunately no alethi actors” is so ridiculous and condescending thing to say. There are so many famous male actors. You are white washing. Don’t try to hide it smh
I really like this. I've been doing this while i read lately. Don't know if it's a common thing for people but it helps me visualize and hear different voices in my head. A couple things i picture are Anthony Hopkins as Taravangian, Gal Gadot as Jasnah, and Brad Pitt as Adolin
Henry Cavill is DEFINITELY Lightsong. Kaladin as Booboo Stewart? He's got the look for sure, but in the books Kaladin is described as very tall, not sure how important that would be. Dalinar Kholin is hard, Dave Bautista doesn't quite do it for me. Maybe Temuera Morrison, but I can't imagine Dalinar with his accent. Jason Mamoa in 15 years?
I really wish y'all respected the ethnicity of the characters in these chats a bit more. Like c'mon stormlight is just not white... at all. Brando has said it over and over.
Timothée Chalamet as Wit. He's young enough to make it through decades of cosmere movies. He is serious enough and if you take his Willy Wonka role as example of his quirkiness.
Cavill is too young now, yes. But, when do we expect a Stormlight movie to be made? Probably 10 years out at this point. Might be a good Vasher though too.
Cranston as a herald would be fun too. Maybe Kalak or Ishar. He would bring notoriety to a standalone too so maybe Blue Fingers in Warbreaker or Hrathen in Elantris.
I feel the same way about Dennis Villeneuve. Not for Mistborn, but I think he would be the only person I trust to bring Malazan to the screen. The series is so complex and difficult and despite him only doing sci-fi, his handling of Dune gives me hope he could do Malazan too.
It's interesting that Sanderson considers many of the Stormlight characters as Asian-coded (east or central), and then I see the actor list being considered. 😂
so i really think Jason Isaacs would make a phenominal sadeas. this is the actor that plays lucious malfoy, but he also played william Tavington in the patriot, and that guy is literally sadeas. he has kind of a ruddy complexion as well which is one of sadeas' feaures. additionally sadeas was handsome but is less so in the time of the story so it makes him perfect
The more I think about Henry Cavill as Dalinar the better it gets, like add some salt and pepper, then do the scene where dalinar saves elhokar from the chadamfiend. 👌
Outside of teenagers, being "to young" for a role is invalid IMO. Making someone look old with makeup is relatively trivial, acting older is relatively simple so long as the young person puts in the effort. Making someone look substantially younger with makeup is extremely difficult, doing it with CGI is expensive, and getting someone old to act young and spry fails under even the best circumstances.
You guys are missing a main point - most characters in the Stormlight Archives are dark and Asian, with the exception of the Shin and Horneaters, who are white... Also, Steven Colbert as Wit or the high prince who has the Hardasian mistress 😊. And the Hardasians are Hispanic 😊😊😊
Dalinar should be Manu Bennet most people won't know who that is but he is perfect for both old and young dalinar. And he is still young enough that with hair dye he could do both roles. Also shallan can have multiple actors, zendaya could be veil. Main shallan in my head is anna kendrick, but she is too old now. Rock could be the guy who plays hodor. Anither oddball take, in my head moash is tom wopat(the original luke duke) way to old for the role now though.
So I’m Latino and I always imagined LOPEN Latino… I don’t know if it’s because it’s very similar to the last name Lopez, or the fact that he say gancho which sounds super Latino…
Amaram is a a 3 book character of a "Honorable" General, very low screen time, but has a friendly face that is likeable make you trust him just to stab you in the back, but still can fain honor.

Yo 2 To Ramble, I know you didnt love Gardens of the Moon and found it pretty mediocre, but can I please interest you in reading Midnight Tides next? Book 5 is actually chronologically first, extremelg self contained, separate cast, separate part of the world on its own continent the Malazans have never heard of, and its so extremely well written and crazy thematic regarding rampant unchecked capitalism in the Letherii empire. The novel follows a character you meet in book 4, and its entirely about his backstory and the world events going ok at the time of his backstory, and like I said, it has no connection to the broader story at that point. It follows the Tiste Edur and Letherii as conflict escalates into a fullscale war and invasion after the Edur noticed the humans had broken the treaty and were seal hunting where/when they shouldn't be.
Correction. They are Rosharan. They do have epicanthic folds though like Asians, but they wouldn't look just like an Asian. Brandon has said they would look more like a cross between Asian and Middle Eastern.
This was so genuinely fun, thank you Jaden & Marty for having us on and see you guys at Dragonsteel!
Such a good time 😂 thanks for coming on! Definitely will have to do it again!
I cast Brandon Sanderson as Sabarial
Oscar Isaac has a noble look, he always plays the good guy and audiences know that, which would make him a great Amaram.
Honestly I’d prefer unknown actors across the board. This can become a phenomenon like GOT.

I mean he does have range as an actor, he was very different from "big muscle guy" in blade runner and still very good.
Bautista's dramatic work is brilliant, you guys seriously need to check them out. His character in Blade Runner 2049 even inspired a character in Joe Abercrombie's Age of Madness.
I stand by my pick for Louis Partridge as Elend based on his role in Enola Holmes

"Every movie starts with Christopher Walken" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I haven't laughed this hard in so long
Nah cmon Timmy C could totally be a Spook
Henry cavill is 41. By the time dalinar gets on screen he could be in his 50s with some greying hair my god it could be perfect.

Hahaha I love that! That’s the same approach as Peter Jackson and I love it
Zendaya I think could be Rysn, not a main role, but could become a big role in the future
The Rock as Tonk Fah.
He gets to play the fun, jokey character that everyone loves. No one will see the twist coming. He used to play a Heel when he was wrestling, so the evil turn is something he has experience with.
In The Rock’s contract it states in a clause that he must always win, I think
@@burningpickle4950 the Rule of Cool states that The Rock will waive that clause if it's handled awesomely enough
Oh my god cranston as taravangian would be incredible.
Call me crazy, Austin would make a good Kaladin.
39:44 you’ll need to watch more of Dave Bautista acting credits. In Blade Runner, glass onion, and so many other roles he has shown dramatic range.
The Rock can be the dougs from Tress lol
Omg that would actually be hilarious

Wait, 2 TO RAMBLE IS HERE IN ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHANNEL?! You all are THE BEST
Thanks!! 😁😁 Such a fun collab!!
We need a second part of this!!
Willem Dafoe as Teravangian would be perfect!
In my head I’ve had David Tennant as Kelsier since I first read him. The fact that Richard thinks of Kelsier as Henry Caville is WILD to me.
Fun collaboration guys! I don’t think I’m going to agree with you on these haha
We had no choice, the actors came to us for a role recommendation 😉😂 we love 2toRamble! It’s fun one, enjoy!!
Hugh Jackman as Sadeas
I concur.
Bautista would actually make an excellent Dalinar IMO. Between Dune and Bladerunner, he's shown that he can do serious roles.
I cast Rbert de Niro as Galant
John David Washington as Sigsal
If richard was older.... Breeze. He's got the sarcasm for it
John David Washington is Sigzil. Change my mind.
Cavill is too young now, yes. But, when do we expect a Stormlight movie to be made? Probably 10 years out at this point. Might be a good Vasher though too.
Ohhh good call! That could be a fun side role while we wait for the main Stormlight casting ;)
I’m holding out hope it’s not 10 years though!!
Cranston as a herald would be fun too. Maybe Kalak or Ishar. He would bring notoriety to a standalone too so maybe Blue Fingers in Warbreaker or Hrathen in Elantris.
Jaden looks waaaaay more like what I picture Marsh to be
This was fun. I think Hugh Jackman would fit Teft perfectly. Grumpy old man that’s strong and knows how to fight. Also the moss problem fits.
I feel the same way about Dennis Villeneuve. Not for Mistborn, but I think he would be the only person I trust to bring Malazan to the screen. The series is so complex and difficult and despite him only doing sci-fi, his handling of Dune gives me hope he could do Malazan too.
I've always advocated that Henry Caville would be a good Lord Ruler
A few other options I picture I could see in my head
Oscar Isaac: Straff Venture
Madelaine Petch: Shallan
Jeffrey Wright: Taravangian
Austin: Zane 😂
Zendaya as Khriss from White sand. Whose with me.
Sanderson as Slowswift in Hero of Ages
Timothee would be more like a... Charlie from Tress hahaha
It's interesting that Sanderson considers many of the Stormlight characters as Asian-coded (east or central), and then I see the actor list being considered. 😂
I would love to see Merle Dandridge as Jasnah Kholin.
Oscar Isaac as Dalinar is not bad, actually... I could also see Oscar Isaac as Teft also works. Now, him as Wit...... I wouldn't be angry
so i really think Jason Isaacs would make a phenominal sadeas. this is the actor that plays lucious malfoy, but he also played william Tavington in the patriot, and that guy is literally sadeas. he has kind of a ruddy complexion as well which is one of sadeas' feaures. additionally sadeas was handsome but is less so in the time of the story so it makes him perfect

I see Sazed more as.... indian/indigenous vibe?? Paul Bethany works more as a Marsh for me
I feel like zendaya jasnah is great because she looks the part imo and also can act it. Shallan gotta be a red head it has to happen
