This is amazing! I have a suitcase I purchased at a garage sale years ago and it’s been sitting in the garage. I think I’m going to paint it like a game board and keep the pieces inside and maybe I’ll cut a small puzzle mat for the inside bottom so when I start a puzzle I can close the case and keep it safe. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Jennifer, I kept the silk lining at the top because it was in good shape, but I stripped it and added some faux suede on the bottom part. Really pretty when it was done. Then I gave it to my niece.
Hi Elizabeth, I used an outdoor black paint, it was acrylic but i sealed it nicely to keep it from scratching. A leather paint would have worked wonderfully, too!

Hey K S! Those legs are hair pin legs and you get get a set of them on Amazon. Just make sure to pick the right height. They come in all different heights.

Go for it CL! The old ones are usually made of wood and you can easily drill the legs into them!

Usually they are screwed in, but it depends on the suitcase. Mind didn't have them.

The closest thing to luggage I have is a steamer trunk from the 1800s. I have a briefcase, which might be from the 1970s.
You never know when you'll run across some....I see it all the time at thrift stores and tossed away when people move.
