    Such a cool video, love old vehicles, I had a '99 Black 2 Door explorer sport, peppy, and turned on a dime. It had a gorgeous tan leather interior, the quality was off the charts, thick carpeting, durable yet soft leather, and center console that was real leather, and perfect padding, very firm, but not hard. Hard plastic trim. My friends Dad was distributor for Dupont and Meguiars so he hooked us up with the pro products, back then you couldn't get them from anywhere but a distributor. Had we known to keep those vehicles. This video was a real treat for me thank you. BTW what year is the Lincoln?

    Hi Phil, ? for you, I noticed in this video that you got some overspray of all purpose cleaner on the plastic instrument panel while cleaning the steering wheel area. Do u ever come across the problem of the cleaner staining the plastic instrument panel? Some of my customers with older vehicles like this one, I sometimes get overspray on the instrument panel and don't notice it until later when i clean the instrument panel and then it's already stained and then I need to get plastic polish or even compound and polish to remove it. it seems to happens more on older vehicles, in recent years I usually stick a folded microfiber towel over the instrument panel to avoid this problem

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 года назад +3

      Hi. Oh yeah I made sure to clean it up immediately. I always have a damp towel to wipe over all areas before I move on. I have had it happen on newer vehicles before also but older plastics are more susceptible.

    Another great video! As a detailer myself, I’m a little confused as to why you don’t just take the seats out. Especially for stains such as 15:30, I feel that it would of been way easier to take 10 min to pop out seats. Low risk as well in terms of damage or liability

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 года назад +8

      Thanks. Yeah like I mentioned it’s too high risk for us. We have done that before and we have to be careful with rusty bolts and electrical snaps under there. If the customer requests it we can do it for an additional charge and they have to sign our form to relieve us of any liability. Then we can do that. But no one asks for it anymore and no one wants to pay extra. Many Detailers do not remove seats especially as mobile guys. Way too much risk. But if others want to remove seats they can go right ahead 😎👍🏼

      @@MirandaDetailing I'm right there with you, I hesitate to disassemble/remove seats on anything, especially anything older or classic. People watch these semi-staged professional content creator disaster detail videos of them dual wielding Binford 3000 drills and drill brushes and ripping out full interiors in 30 seconds and just going HAM everywhere and that's just not realistic in the real world.
      Careful and measured and low impact is always at the forefront of the thought process on every single vehicle. Don't compound what a polish can handle, don't extract what a good cleaner and a little steam can get out. But I guess that approach doesn't always make for the sexiest videos.

Does a protectant always have to be applied or do you ever just use a cleaner only ? where I used to work they would only use a dressing but wouldn’t clean well would only hide stuff but doing the 2 steps separate takes a lot of extra time

      Recently we have using P&S Express Interior. It's great for all surfaces. For leather it's best to clean it thoroughly and then protect it with a separate product, you don't want to dress dirty leather or hide that it's dirty. Always inspect the leather and steering wheel for possible damage, sometimes it's worn and not dirty....nothing you can do. If it's damaged it simply needs to be repaired.
