That was far and away the most savage thing depicted in the show. The only thing I can even imagine, that is more savage, would be not closing the stall door in a public restroom, and talking up people that walk by.

You are going to LOVEEEEEEE how they handle the vaults in this show. It's delicious. You're in for such a treat, it really is a near-perfect adaptation. The fan service is UNREAL and so tastefully done all the time. If you view it through a "this is a videogame and Lucy is the PC" her actions make a little more sense where they otherwise may not. The games where you begin in vaults tend to quite quickly give you any motivation to get the hell out of the vault ASAP and start checkin' out the wasteland, so I didn't mind the rapidly-okay departure from Lucy. Dad's missing, gotta get dad! First major story quest!
So excited about the lore in this show. It's respectful and innovative!

It was a pitch perfect adaptation. Loved that the SFX from the games are used in the show, the Vaults looked so good, the character writing was fantastic and amazing performances throughout. As a long time Fallout fan since high school myself I loved it!

I loved the first episode. The pre-war vibes were amazing. The only thing that kinda takes me out of it is the fact that the bombs dropped on Boston at 9:47am in fallout 4. That is about 3 hours ahead of Los Angeles California. A birthday party at like 6:00am is just a little odd...

Omg, I was so hoping you’d touch on the series! The focus and pace of your channel merge into pure delight.
My career is in film, set decoration & props mainly, and my hobby for the past year has been settlement building. Knowing how hard it is to land an adaptation, I was skeptical about the series but, FO S1 was beautiful. I hope S3 heads east so I can work on it. Looks like S2 may stay West. All very exciting.
Remain absolutely fantastic & thank you for quality content.

I felt so represented when you also said you experienced fallout as a cozy game! When animal crossing was all the rage during COVID, I took a lot of comfort and escapism in fallout 4. new Vegas and 3 were my ways of coping throughout high school. It’s such a well built world that it brings a sense of comfort.

I so appreciate your thoughts on the series and look forward to future episodes. I feel almost like we're watching it together, which is lovely! :) Re Brotherhood - it struck me many of the characters' names are very Roman like Maximus, Titus, Thaddeus, etc. That reminds me of Cesar's Legion from New Vegas, which may be meaningful or may not be. Time will tell.

@juliao9146 After watching the first episode I see much of all the Fallout series represented within the TV series, thus your comment from New Vegas. The boy in the fridge (Maximus) representative of FO4, the style of the inside of Vault 32, FO76, and the look of the destroyed towns or cities looks much like in FO3. So we will probably see more of those representations of the games and the people of the games in the following episodes, so i look forward to that.

I started out with FO76, me and my daughter actually played for a year before we even understood VATS! Game-changer! But after a year we did both hone our shooting skills..but we are not that great either. I am now starting out with FO4 and following your channel so I can keep that cozy vibe going..😂The thumb to blast radius idea has been disproved as a valid technique to indicate a safe distance from the blast cloud via(Kyle Hill) a science educator who plays the game. BUT the concept is still kinda important, as it shows how the average humans would not know just how much danger they are in regardless of how close they are. I mean, we only know what we are told about..so much is still not well understood by the average person even in real life. I finished the series and it was surprisingly better than I anticipated!

I recently discovered your channel and it is delightful. I've never played any Fallout games except Fallout Shelter and that really doesn't count. So anyway, the algorithm offered me one of your cozy settlement videos, I watched it and was hooked. Absolutely love those videos, hope you do more. Your cozy videos sparked my curiosity in the TV show (plus my best friend enjoys it) so I tuned in. It's pretty good, not anywhere near the level of The Last of Us, Severance or For All Mankind but really well done and a fun diversion.
I enjoyed your episode recap video, I hope you continue with this as well, I watched this and realized I wasn't subscribed, I am now though. Nice, well made content with a positive, upbeat outlook is very much needed in these weird days so thank you for being that!

The first episode is so much fallout. The kids in the vault school and the wedding remindme when you start fallout 3. Lucy trapped in the room watching her father being kidnapped reminds me Fallout 4 begins and the Goul scene is totally fallout new vegas. One of the thing I like more is that you dont know if the characters will be good or evil in the end, like in the games. Lucy and Maximus seems to be good but you feel that can change later, especially Maximus, he is in the line and I love that. The Goul seems bad but you see in the flashbacks that he was a good man, so, It will be good again? I really want to see how their stories evolve and also how they will be conected.

I loved this show! I can’t wait for you to get further! I saw a theory that the reason why the Ghoul looks so clean is cause he had plastic surgery pre war. I’m not sure how that would work exactly, but that’s a cool idea! Keep up the awesome work, General ❤

YEEEEE like I said in my last comment on your Somersomething settlement build I was curious what your thoughts were! I’m four episodes in so no spoilers, but I think you’re gonna really enjoy the rest and how they expand on things.
I also love the VATS system on FO because I too am terrified of shooters and reacting in the moment, and when I was a kid even Kingdom Hearts was a struggle for me because it wasn’t turn based.
Between this tv show and watching your settlement builds, I think I’m finally ready to get back to FO4. I just need to log 60 more hours in Stardew Valley (currently around 100) and then I am READY. 😂

I loved how Lucy's first fight against her raider husband felt like every first fight I had in different fallout games: going up against a low level enemy with one of the worst weapons and walking away almost dead. It felt so spot on! I agree with you that if she had been too competent right away it would have felt untrue to the games. I'm several episodes in and enjoying it so far, can't wait to hear more of your comments and impressions! 💜

You may not remember 9/11/2001 like I do. When the news broke, we were stunned. I placed my kids in front of Nick Jr and Cartoon network, because I did not want them to be affected. I fully get that a parent would want to protect her children from dark news.
I get the lack of taboo references. I mean effectively a normal vault would have about 400 - 500 people to start with, but that they will breed for a while, and probably have really great records as far as the genetic history. We do know that you can probably have interactions between 4th or 5th cousins without the risk of problems.
I do believe one of the first mistakes made was that Lucy knew the term "Raider." The indication, at least from the perspective of the vault dwellers, is that they have no contact with the surface. They do not think the surface is safe , thus Lucy's and Monty's children. That was a minor break.
The Brotherhood of Steel, at least this group of them in California territory, is a bit of an offshoot. It is interesting that there is a mention of the Brotherhood in the Commonwealth, as this takes place nine years after Fallout 4 starts.
The Ghouls, well those are a issue. There is no real information about how a ghoul is formed. We believe radiation is a key element, but FEV may also be a part.
I like the different perspectives of Lucy and Maximus. These are both new players and I think it will help to introduce the audience to the world.
I think the Ghoul is an experienced player. I think theoretically, he is a high level character. He has been adventuring for 200+ years after all.
The Enclave is a lore reference, I think.

I can’t believe it didn’t click for me that the other “vault dwellers” were Raiders when they were having that meal and the one raider stole food off a Vault 33 dweller’s plate. That, and them being so dirty. I guess I just figured their vault didn’t focus on cleanliness so much 😂

I liked your intro. I work in geographic information systems, in which I do a lot of automation through code (mainly c#, JavaScript/HTML, and Python). I would have loved to have gotten serious about game development, but I'm still wrapping up my undergrad (which I started after a hiatus in higher learning).
I enjoyed your take on episode 1! I completed my first playthrough of Fallout 4 just last week. After watching the show, I decided to launch my second playthrough immediately! That is why I haven't binged the whole TV series, yet - it takes away from my already limited playtime. :~D BTW, your videos are why my second playthrough builds look so much better planned and organized.
I agree with your take on the subtlety in the start of the show, notably that the class of people at the birthday party and what their behaviors represent. I expected to be a little disappointed in the interpretation of the in-game tech, but I feel they did an excellent job with both the look and feel. I'm basing that on my experience with Capital Wasteland, New Vegas, and Fallout 4. The glimpse they already offered into BoS shows an apparent respect for the canonic elements of the game.
I particularly love how quickly they changed the mood with Lucy's wounding, then back with the subsequent application of the stimpak. :~) There was a lot of nuance with the various members of the Vault 32 committee, so I'm looking forward to seeing how deep they go into unmasking the backstory.
As for your reliance on V.A.T.S. - my Capital Wasteland and New Vegas experience was on an XBOX 360 - there wasn't any way around using it for me with the gamepad! I enjoy trying to skip it on my PC, but only once my character is a little less squishy. Also, I started on BoS my first playthrough, before going all in on the Minutemen. I absolutely agree that the Minutemen philosophy is what I would support were I to actually find myself in that scenario - rebuilding a sane, inclusive society seems like a much better use of my time than hording tech!

Not related to the video at all, but this showing on my feed only one week later reminded me I forgot to hit the notification bell 👉🏻👈🏻
    Edit:
I dunno ih what episode you're now but I'm going for a second watch already cuz 8 epis are just too little but still enough for me to know some stuff must've went over my head
Anyways, to not spoil anything here I'll limit myself to say only this: Most of your questions will be answered BUT said answers might create new questions XD
Also, now related to something you were around 13:20 or so
You really thought the branding scene was brutal? LOL
I mean, it ain't pretty or anything, but to me... I dunno, was just cult-like bs as I was already expecting, actually way "softer" (for lack of a better word) than I was expecting even before watching. Now -- AND POSSIBLE SPOILER HERE, EVEN THO I'LL TRY MY BEST TO NOT BE --, there's three specific scenes involving Lucy that REALLY messed me up, specially the most emotional one when she gets a lot of answers from a certain someone. Two of them gave me some chills in a way I didn't felt since forever and made me sit on my bed cuz I've got one hell of an adrenaline rush, but that third made me cry my eyes out 😶😪
I guess I had something else to say, but I just forgot. I mean, is kinda hard to give info without actually giving info lol
And I was right, it was a great video heh'

By doing that I like it.
There's no lore when it comes to..
    Vault-Tec.Assisted.Targeting.System
Also why were you expecting "Minutemen" values on the West Coast?
When during the Revolutionary War, it was taken place on the East Coast.
California was owned by Mexico, there was no men in a minute notice there.

By “minutemen values” I mean anyone looking out for the day to day interests of wastelanders and trying to rebuild society with what they’ve got now (unlike the vault dwellers, who believe they’ll be the ones to rebuild once they move back to the surface next generation). I didn’t expect to see any actual east coast minutemen.

      @@IfThenCreate I'm sorry if i was rude.
(I dislike Fallout 4 with a passion even when I platinum trophied it with all DLC).
You just watched episode 1, given this was the last video you uploaded.
New Vegas is my first Fallout game.
Never played 1, 2, Tactics, Brotherhood of Steel or 76.
      (Because I don't have a personal computer).
I don't know if it's spoiling by explaining to you what's not in television show?
Because New Vegas gives lore to what happened in 1 & 2 more than a miniscule of what Fallout 4 has & some that was mentioned in Fallout 3.
