Automatic fails (not driving aka PRE-trip) Miss any of the five critical components 1. Seatbelts 2. Tug Test 3. 5th Wheel (Bolt in, Handle in, No space between 5th wheel and trailer apron, jaws locked around kingpin) 4. Tandems slide pins and handle locked 5. 100 Lug nuts • Poor routine
Automatic fails (driving) Hitting a curb • Failing to protect right side 1. Wrong lane 2. Failure to use mirrors • Following too closely (minimum of 3 seconds) Speeding / Impeding traffic consistently / grossly driving • Running a red light / stop sign
Damn this gets me nervous for onboarding I just hope it goes well and hopefully get the well training like they say “THE WALMART WAY” turns out good and I can proceed the process to pass and get hired thank you for the advise & points!
i got my pretrip hardcopy from my trucking school. I just passed my background check. Would it be advisable to also use my phone to record the instructor going over pretrip the first few days or no?
So I've watched a few onboarding videos, all Drivers concur on the process but no one mentions if or when the DOT physical & drug screen is done. I assume first thing Monday 🌅?? 🤷♂️
Good videos.I know it's a good paying company. Let me tell you my story with Walmart.I've been driving for 17 years,no accidents. I went to take the pre trip and driving test at the terminal in Lagrange, GA.The old guy came out, told me to do the pre trip,I started walking around and verbally saying what I was checking, he looked at me and told me they usually don't hire guys who do pre trips without gloves.....What the hell was that about????.....So anyway, after that we jump in the tractor and he asked me to back between 2 trailers on the lot.We hadn't even got on the road,so I set up,started backing, pulled up to straighten up,started backing again, he told me I failed because they don't allow you to do pull ups when backing....ridiculous.My whole test was about 7 minutes.I was so upset cause I knew he was on some bs.I got a call 4 days later from a hiring manager apologizing, saying he wasn't even supposed to give drivers test, the guy that usually does it was sick so they asked him and he was upset and blew me off.Told me I had to wait 6 months to reapply,I didn't want anything to do with that particular DC after that. This was in 2016
Good afternoon. This is John again and after having problems with my application, it finally worked. Had my interview and now waiting for background checks to be done. I was told HR will let me know when I can chose my on boarding week. Looking fwd to it.
I will do that. I am just waiting for the background to be completed and then I will pick a week to do my onboarding. I didn't realize it was in red bluff but it will be a good trip.
The more and more I think about it I lose interest in driving for Walmart. Been trucking for 10 years and being a super company driver isn't a interest of mine.
I don't know my friend. This whole onboarding thing is just crazy to me. if you take a driver who has been driving for 20 years and never had a ticket or accident but bumps a cone they are now out of a job. But let's take someone out of the warehouse who has never driven a truck before and train them to drive. I much rather take the person that bumped a cone and give them some extra training.
I just came out of onboarding. 2 years of flatbed prior 5 years experience total with not so much as a scratch I thought it was a little silly as well but I mean they give you ample opportunity to do it the way they wanna see it done.
@@godfathertrucking8918 I have been with Walmart for going on 15 years and I haven't seen how the course works. But I have heard they have failed a lot of drivers that have quit there jobs before going to onboarding. Now What? I would rather see them offer an experienced driver with a clean driving record who bumped a cone the chance to go into a training program for a couple of weeks then take someone out the warehouse who has never driven a truck before and train them to drive. Because that's what there doing. Just my opinion. lol
So what did they ask you when they do the phone interview with you? After phone interview when do you on board? Are you familiar with the Sacramento California terminal?
Ya 30 months in the last 48 months. Make sure to you me as a reference. Some times depending on your area that can speed up the process by you getting a call before many others
Question, So If we’re get Invited to Boot Camp (Onboarding) and we fail any of the test and do not make it. Are we allowed to reapply later down the line, and try again?
Ya they will explain the options there. It may be a few months or they may give you an option to skip the last test day and come back to the very next on boarding event and re start the week for more practice

I’m going next week 9/26/22 at Seymour, iN. Then, I’ll be out of Hopkinsville, ky. Pray for me.
Hey man! I live in Seymour lol. I've been thinking about coming to Walmart. How did it go for you? Is it worth doing??

Just take your time and try to study pre-trip inspections as much as possible before you go. Good luck
@@Ken-f150 thank u I’ve been studying daily which I remember by far thank u for the tips!
I just passed onboarding. The way I see it, WE SHOULD ALL KNOW HOW TO DO WHAT THEY ASK OF US.
Congrats and yes lol
Yep. You see it as it really is Jedi Truck Master. 😊

Correct. I went through it 9/24
I pass everything went from May 27 to May 31 and no the pre trip was not easy it was petty thorough.

No gloves man lol. That's all weird. Absolutely pull ups allowed. That guy obviously should not have been there

whats the background check is it TSA ? thanks
Oh, that’s why he asked if I was using the engine brake 🤷🏻♂️. They never said I couldn’t use it. I thought it was odd that he asked.
They should tell you

@@godfathertrucking8918 By the way... Congratulations and welcome to Walmart. Which DC are you going too? I'm out of Hope Mills NC
The key is planning. Never quit a job to TRY to get a new job. Always use PTO or vacation time. That way if you do fail you're not out of a job.
Walmart doesn’t give a driving job to a warehouse worker.
Heads up it takes a long long long time to get cleared to drive I been with trainer going on a month and haven’t been cleared to drive
How long did it take you?
@@officialbosslady9450 2 months with a cdt they say process is much faster
Still here? I just applied and praying they contact me!
They said to me 5 days 2 off schedule. Recruiter said sleep in the truck 4 nights and in my own bed 3 nights. Is this true?
True
Thanks.
So what did they ask you when they do the phone interview with you? After phone interview when do you on board? Are you familiar with the Sacramento California terminal?
Great info thank you
Will Walmart hire drivers with automatic restriction? My CDL school’s manual trucks broke down and I was forced to test in an automatic
will they provide a place to stay for out of state people ? thanks
Is it still 30 months?? I need 5 more to get to that minimal requirement.

Can I apply for work in another state?? and restart at home?? because there are no SC vacancies in my state ! do you need to have hazmat??
Yes and you do need it bit can do it after you are hired
The lane was a double lane? You just jump to the Left lane instead of the right merge lane?
Yes. But the paint was so old it was very unclear. A solid white line also so I mis judged it for the margin
@@walmartprofessionaldriver I hear you. Just like the speed limit sign cover up with branches . Ticket 🎫

That's probably why Walmart is so strict with they hiring process cuz I think that Tracy Morgan shit was that Walmart driver
Lawsuits are definitely what they try to avoid
Do you have to ride with a trainer if you’re already an experienced driver?
Yes, ALL drivers. Even if you have 30 years exp, o/o.
Those tests are for new drivers or also for experience drivers? I feel stupid doing those tests again after 5 years on the road
There's guys with 25 years. We all have to do it to prove to Walmart you know what your doing
Does Walmart make you do air break test
Yes. At onboarding it's just verbal. Your sitting in the truck when you tell them what you would do
Hello sir how are you doing today
I m from Pakistan
My name is Adeel Ahmed
I m driver
Are the hotels single or 2 per room?
Since covid, I believe they're all single. But things change
Still single
How many days is onboarding
Monday to Friday. They put you up in a hotel and cover your food and travel expenses
