- For those of you having issues with windows 11 or windows 10 follow these steps:
Open Device Manager
Right Click "Xbox One Controller"
Select Update Driver Software
Browse on my PC
Let me pick from a list
"Microsoft Xbox One Controller"
The driver called "Xbox One Controller" doesn't work, but the one called "Microsoft Xbox One Controller" does work. if this works for you SUBSCRIBE to support my channel, thanks

I'm using the bluetooth Xbox one on windows 8.1 and everything works if I'm using the micro USB cable, but If i use it with Bluetooth only non of the buttons work even though is is connected. Is there some kind of ds4emulator like the ps4 controller for the Xbox one controller?

I have a cheap 15$ controller and I just thought to myself, why dont I use a 60$ xbox one controller for playing Dark Souls 1 and 3 and not have the problems of having that cheap plastic and sensitive buttons while using the cheap controller... But, its bin 2 days of messing around with microsoft and microsoft gold trying to con me into 9.99$ a month for this driver... But, it worked.. Ty!

nice help ,ty for this tuto but if your controller dont works after this steps. you have put your adapter out and again in your usb device now on your right corner will popup a little window open this and change the setting to yes auto updates and give him one minute. the circle will change to a green tick and it works. sry for my english its not so well ^^

i have windows 10 and i have followed all the steps and my controller still does not connect
+William Vazquez Sometimes with windows 10 you need to do this:
1-Make sure you are connected to the internet then open a random folder
2-On the left side find "this PC" make a right click on it then go to manage
3-Click on device manager and try to find the controller like I am showing you on the video
you might see it listed as unknown device or Microsoft controller with a question mark on it
4- Make a right click on it go to Update driver software and select the automatic option it will try to connect to Microsoft driver base server online just sit back and let it download and install it.
I dont see any of those when i click on device manager,i guess ill just use the 360 controller and give my friend his controller back (i borrowed it).Thanks anyway
If you have windows 10 you can type device manager on search bar and then find the controller but it need to be connected and then update the drivers. I am using playstation 4 controller and emulate it as an xbox 360 controller using inputmapper. Work for 90 percent of the games

I got an old xbox controller at a pawnshop yesterday, my PC recognizes it, (windows 10) drivers are installed and windows says device working properly, but i'm not getting any kind of feedback from this thing, it never buzzed when I plugged it in, only got the din dinga ding, sound from windows. Perhaps I got a dud controller.... because all signs point to it being installed properly. I even went and bought an official xbox cable from gamestop. So I know its not a connection issue.

2nd: You will see that the computer says that is not recognize after that...
3rd: Go to device manger and you will see a triangle error on controller
4th: Click the right mouse button on it and update driver
5th: And Click on search Auto For Driver "I think it is"
6th: Wait 5 to 10 Min
7th: And you are done

you need an xbox one controller, for 360 you need to install a different driver
